November 21, 20169 yr 1-0 away at Middleboro. Happily accept that result every time we play them up there.
November 21, 20169 yr https://www.chelseafc.com/news/latest-news/2016/11/report--middlesbrough-v-chelsea.html With Conte’s team selection came a little slice of history: it was the first time Chelsea have named the same starting XI for five consecutive league games in the Premier League era. November 21, 20169 yr The satisfaction couldn't be on higher level, rly. It's pretty obvious that we enjoyed the games we were in great shape and destroyed everybody but yesterday victory... that was a pure character, charisma and champions mentality. Obviously out of our best after the break, against these rugby players, the pressure on us because we could top the league.. amazing response. I realise we'll concede goals very soon and the defeats are coming but what I saw today will remain in my mind for a long time. Just like the opening two games. I don't say we are champions already and I wont share in fb or twatter that we top the league like a virgin scouser I'm just so f**king happy Conte fought back to make us competetive again. Full recognition for him. For players... when they win the title. The 16th last year now top the league. They have a lot to prove :D Edited November 21, 20169 yr by Pendergast
November 21, 20169 yr Great result. And the performance for me was just as pleasing as the previous games where we've rolled teams over. Had Pedro not hit the bar & Valdes not made a wonder save we'd have been looking at another 3-0 win. But as we proved today, especially on these tough away games after an international break, one goal is all that we need and we kept another clean sheet. The momentum will well & truly still be going after this one, and heading onto Spurs at home & City away we couldn't be in a better position. Up the Chels! Edited November 21, 20169 yr by Batshuayi

November 21, 20169 yr Hard-fought win and very proud of the lads for grinding out what was always going to be a tough match for us, especially after the international break where our rhythm would be a little out of sync. Middlesbrough is a very defensively-organsied team so goals were always going to be hard to come by and therefore I didn't expect a huge margin if we were going to win. Diego did well to seize on the opportunity to score our only goal. Pedro was very unlucky to be denied two goals with a great save from Valdes and the other shot hitting the bar. I'm still pinching myself with how the manager has turned around our fortunes. I always had great optimism that Conte would do well with us, but I never dreamed that we would flourish under him this soon. Big games against Tottenham and Man City are coming up now, but we've been faultless for the past month so I fancy our chances against both sides in the coming weeks. It's a great feeling to be top of the league!

Valdes pulled off an absolute worldy of save in the first half and the shot that rattled of the bar was so unlucky can't fault him there. Pedro's been doing really well and it offering a big goal threat as part of the front three, can't see Willian displacing him anytime soon.
November 21, 20169 yr Terry, Fabregas and Bats all lining up for the development team? Blimey! Conte obviously keen to keep them all match fit.
November 21, 20169 yr That'a a good team, wonder if it's on TV? Dabo will be JT's captain tonight? lol
November 21, 20169 yr it's live on chelsea tv keep the players fit + "cheat" our dev team to 4th in PL2 + some extra chelsea tv subscriptions, 3 birds with one stone lol

Look at what happened to Barca this weekend without Suarez and Messi and I've already touched on the example of Rafa vs QPR. You and me only know so much from what was reported by the media so I don't think you knew costa 'clearly' wasn't injured at that time.. why didn't he play for his country then? it was reported he was injured and thus our concerned.. For the record, I didn't suggest to rest both hazard and costa, only 1 and that's costa to be replaced by batshuayi.. Sure, resting some main players could cost us but you can't play the same players all the time espcially if they're having some fitness issues.. I don't know about you style but my preference is for efficient management.. For some people, squad depth should only come into play when the main player gets injured but I think squad depth should be used to prevent the main player gets an injury that is caused of overused...
November 21, 20169 yr Just finished watching the Dev team. Zouma huge and has a good physical presence. He is still not yet match sharp and Conte doing the right thing giving him play time in this Dev team! Maybe he can start appearing for the team end of December there! Van Ginkel looked really good. I think with time he can be sold for a good fee if we don't need him. Basthuayi is good! Has a good shot and bullied the young boys! Excited with Chelsea and ask the talent we have.

Yeah, Batshuayi was in beast mode. Looked a class above. Mason Mount, the young 17 year old was bloody excellent as well. Zouma agreed. Needs more games at this level as he is not all there yet and noticed this for quite a few of the dev games.
