Have a good feeling about this player. He looks like someone we can use. Whether we'll be able to get him is a different matter.

We have bargaining chips in that we have two players that they definitely want, I reckon we can get it done, provided he's someone Conte is targeting

Just an observation here....

I realize it's just a coincidence due to the fact that France has a seemingless unlimited supply of talent, but Antonio sure does love his French prospects huh?  The more the merrier if it improves the squad, just something I've begun to notice from our manager.

He's having an absolutely storming season for me with Lyon on FM, scored a 30 yarder that helped me knock Arsenal out of the CL... let's hope we see that in reality next season!

Anyone know what kind of price tag OL would be looking for? Considering we don't send anyone in return. I've heard rumors of Traore or Zouma going to them for a bumper.

Seems like a quality player with an eye for goal, don't know much about him, however.  Conte seems to like French deep-lying/defensive midfielders.  Whether it's Bakayoko, Tolisso, or both, could get along well with Kante.

£20-25 million is the reported fee, the player wants to leave for Champions League football and Lyon accept that I think.

Thanks! Could be even cheaper if we send them someone in return/on-loan. Could also be a cheaper alternative to Bakayoko, or a steal for more squad depth. UCL football definitely talks, as does money.

Indeed, very similar to the formation Conte used at Juve with Pogba/ Marchisio,  Vidal and Pirlo in midfield

Could work. There wouldn't be much pressing from the front though, that we get with Pedro/Willian playing on the other side of hazard atm. It's tough to work out how we can fit everyone into a formation, whilst also upgrading several areas of the pitch and not wanting to leave anyone out.

Can see it happening in the CL, the reason Antonio shifted to a back three in the first place is because none of the defense bar Azpi are good enough to play back four. Hopefully we see tactical variety next season, 343, 352, 424 and 433 can all be come up useful.

I just hate this.

Sorry mate, that I am singling your post, but this "we should play formation A, B, C and D", which is just FIFA-ish. Our players have iterated and re-iterated, that they had to understand the intricacies of the position and all the tactical nuance.

To be able to play those 4 formations, the players need to be accustomed with those, need to understand those plays etc etc. Sorry, but how many teams in the world actually change formations per game. I can understand having a plan b or plan c, but plan A is what each and every team, be it aston villa or sunderland, play it 90% of the time.

Agree, it's really an example of how we could play in defensive situations, or when we need to maintain midfield possession (something I feel has been one of our shortcomings this season). I've included Jorge Mere because, in my imho he's more adaptable to a back 4 than Christensen. Azpi would still be the main man at RCB, however.

I'd be happy for us to still do the 3-4-3 against the bottom half/two thirds of the table, as it works well against them, so something like:

Courtois

Azpilicueta
Luiz
Christensen

Alonso
Kante
Tolisso
Conti

Hazard
Costa/Lukaku
Pedro/Willian

But against the bigger sides who hassle and press us much more and who dominate the midfield, I'd prefer us to go 3 in the middle, so either:

3-5-2, e.g.

Courtois

Azpilicueta
Luiz
Christensen

Alonso
Fabregas
Kante
Tolisso
Conti

Hazard
Costa/Lukaku

Or go back to the old classic 4-3-3

Courtois

Alonso
Christensen
Luiz
Azpilicueta

Fabregas
Kante
Tolisso

Hazard
Costa/Lukaku
Pedro/Willian

Should snap their hand off at that fee.  May have been rubbish rumors but last year was apparently 37.5 mn Euro (although only one year left on contract now).

What a load of old nonsense....and this certainly won't be happening next season.  Arsenal are not in the champions league remember! :laugh2:::ChELSeAFaN::

I know next to nothing about him and never watched him play. Thoughts?

I watched Lyon 4/5 times last season and they always blew hot and cold, talented squad, but they didn't deliver enough solid performances. Tolisso struck me as a talented and tidy player, good on the ball, eye for a pass, decent playmaker, but he never blew me away, he's fairly young though and he wouldn't be a bad signing, depending on the price tag. Going by the comments, some are more sold on him than me.
