Frustrating is the perfect way to sum up that match.

Luiz foul was definitely 100% a red card, however, the thing which annoys me is the lack of consistency- I guarantee in the next few weeks we'll see a worse tackle that doesn't get a yellow but all in all it was ridiculous from Luiz.

Aside from getting the red card decision right the officials were quite embarrassing, poor decisions all round and how they only get four minutes of added time from the amount of subs made, the time taken during the red card and Welbeck rolling around is baffling to me.

The team was sadly wrong from the start and we could see the impact that Hazard and Bakayoko made when they were introduced; those surges that Bakayoko makes from midfield are brilliant to watch. Another very frustrating aspect of our game is how wasteful we are from setpieces. We have a very tall side with considerable power and every single time we're either taking it short or lumping a terrible ball straight into the keepers hands i.e cesc in the last minute, very infuriating.

Anyway onwards and upwards, thankfully we didn't lose and hopefully we'll see a midfield three away to stoke next week.

It's unbelievable that you give credit to these sc*ms. The Losers will receive at least 4 goals against City, the same ammount they did only 2 weeks ago against another weak side - Liverpool. Just face the reality. Conte does now want to use the formula we've got to beat Arsenal. He wants to beat them on his way and this is why we struggle against them. I really thought his Ego was not that big as Joses and Pep's, but i was wrong.

I don't know why i'm wasting precious keyboard clicks to respond to an obvious troll but.......

Conte put out the side he did because he thought it was the best one he had fit and available to get a result.

Maybe with the benefit of hindsight, it would have been better to make other choices (or maybe not, as we don't know the fitness of the players and how they are doing on the training pitch)....... but this ego accusation is completely stupid. Think before you post......

Poor performance. And given our performance, great result.

Tibo: great performance. Couple of good saves. 9/10

Moses: Horrendous. Kolasinac had him owned all around. 4/10

Azpi: One of our better performers. Couple of times, got a great tackle in. 8/10

Luiz: Despite the red, I would say he was our MOTM. Great performance which will be overshadowed by a moment of magic. 9/10

GC: Where do i start? Should even have started at all. Was consistently targetted by arsenal. Just not good enough on the ball. 5/10

Alonso: Bellerin's pace troubled him, and it did not help that cesc was sh*t defensively providing no cover. Couple of times arsenal even were able to double up on him. Held his own in the 2nd half though. 7/10

Cesc: Probably the worst performer on the pitch in blue. His setpieces are atrocious. Just lobs the ball in the air with no pace. Could not complete 2 passes under pressure and got owned by ramsey-xhaka. Sorry, but irrespective of him scoring against everton, he simply should not be starting in a mid 2. (And you can quote me now if you want :) ). 2/10

Kante: Tried his hardest but too much work for a person who simply had no support from his partner in the 1st half. 6/10

Willian: Very poor. Great workrate, but simply got owned by Monreal for f**k's sake. 3/10

Pedro: Very similar to willian. Should have scored too. 3/10

Morata: I thought he was quite good and am really surprised with people claiming that he had a bad game. He made runs only for Willian/pedro to not complete simple passes. His hold up play and aerial play was good with no real support and for larger times he was really isolated or out of the game since luiz-azpi-GC seemed content passing the ball meaninglessly. 7/10

Subs:

Baka: How he did not start the game is beyond me. We instantly got far better with him in the mid. 7/10

Hazard - Looked lively. I was fuming when that c**t oliver gave a foul on elneny (I think). Hazard would have been 1v2 I more than in a good position. His shot should have been a bit better though but overall, again, no idea how and why he did not start over either of pedro/willian. 7/10

Im interested to hear what that formula is

Agree on set pieces, fabergas delivery has been rubbish so far this season - also since when does every corner have to be a short corner? We're playing Arsenal with at least 5 6 foot plus players - just mash it in

I thought Cesc tried and played decent. He created the Pedro chance which should have led to a goal.

Bakayoko played, love watching him. Like a young Yaya Toure.

Morata tried his best and had some really nice touches but was far too isolated.

Scrappy game and fair result. I think looking at our fixture list, we're doing well so far. In the top 3 having played some tough fixtures.

I know a lot are very disappointed with the result but this wasn't such a bad display.

You need to realise that le arse shipped 4 goals against Liverpool and have generally been poor against top 6 opposition in the premiership. Today against us, they were always going to defend a lot better than they have been.

I thought we controlled most the game especially in the second half when bakayoko came on, we looked so much more assured.

My only negative was that conte did not start a midfield trio of kante, bakayoko and fabregas. Also starting cahill was a mistake personally. He needs to be phased out from the first team.

The luiz sending off was 100% right imo. It was at least a yellow as he had the chance to clear but tried to be too clever.

Overall it wasn't a bad performance

Tom's ratings:

Thibaut - Solid performance - 8/10
Azpi - Pretty good - 8/10
Luiz - He was quite good until that dreadful decision - 6/10
Cahill - Looked lost at times and intimidated by the attack - 5/10
Alonso - Decent performance but nothing really amazing - 7/10
Moses - Difficult to watch at times - 4/10
Fabregas - Put in some good balls but was taken off the ball far too often - 6/10
Kante - Looked quite decent, won the ball back a lot - 8/10
Willian - Barely crossed the ball and his shots were poor 5/10
Pedro - Looked loose on the ball, didn't take his chances well - 5/10
Morata - Lacked physical presence but made smart runs - 6/10
Bakayoko - Gave a way some cheap fouls but he really is the real deal - 8/10
Hazard - Changed the game in terms of threat but didn't do much - 7/10
Christensen - Didn't do much, not sure if I can really judge him - ???/10

Luiz's challenge was 100% a red, no question about it. What is pissing me off about the standard of refereeing is that they can't wait to get the cards out or stop the match for a foul. The ball over the top where Hazard got onto it and Oliver blew for a foul on Koscielny was never, ever a foul. Hazard would have been away ffs. Anytime a Chelsea player was near an Arsenal player he seemed to give the free. Getting really sick of the referees thinking they're some sort of celebrities on the pitch.

However it must be said that that was a poor game from both sides. 0-0 was an appropriate result, neither side did enough to win. I felt we were very wasteful in the first half, Pedro simply has to be scoring those type of chances. Willian needs to look up and see the pass, or at least go wide if he's taking on a player, rather than cutting inside and running into a wall of players. As many have said, Cesc shouldn't have started, Baka should have. Starting Cesc against lower table opposition is fine, but you can't do it against the top teams. I did feel we improved in the second half, I felt we contained Arsenal well, but again, didn't create enough to win the match. A positive note was Hazard's performance, he was brilliant when he came on and looked fit, he should definitely start the next match.

I see no argument for garry continuing, even after Luiz is out, he is our weakest CB

More likely Christensen in my opinion.

Ideally would be Rudiger, Christensen, Azpi - worked well against Tottenham.

One of the more dispiriting draws I've witnessed.

We were far too casual today, too many subpar performances. I don't think tiredness was a factor here, we played an easy team 5 days ago, so if that's really the case then I really dread the Atletico/City back to back matches, but I don't think that's the case, I think we just didn't turn up today.

Weird team selection. Why was Cahill back in the team, he looked nervous as f**k on Tuesday, no reason to include him in the team, Rudiger and Christensen are probably pissed off right now. We should've started with Zappacosta as well I thought.

Not a disaster today, but we need to step up. We have some really big games coming up in the next few weeks against some top teams. Cant afford to have any passengers.

I don't think this was a bad result. Of course, it's always nice to beat arsenal at home but I think they actually played well today.  On a side note, I think Arsene Wenger may have "found out" Conte's tactics since the FA cup game, it might be time to start switching things up against them.

I was thinking that during the game.  Two teams playing 343 that are well organised ends up in a checkmate.  Surely if you have the superior team maybe a 433 would be better suited as you've got another man forward against the 3 CBs?  I'm no coach but I think it makes sense.

You just watched your first Chelsea - Arsenal game? Go back statistically 12 years before Conte's arrival and you will find out. I am not going to retell every single game but it was quite simple.

Hint - we cross the ball in almost every free kick and corner. Not that crab we did today.

Seems legit, agree with you. Luiz was the best player out there, should have gotten second yellow instead of the red.

Was a pretty ordinary game....2 points less than we should have got (not based on the play today, but what we should have been targeting before the game started)

Looks like Christensen might be getting a few games in the centre of the three though. Also, really like Bakayoko. He is a powerhouse. His dribbling and feet are great for a man his size.

I have a list of people that need fly kicked in the face if you are game.

You can be Zinedine ZidAntonio, and we can team up to kick and headbutt our way through our enemies.

He should but rather we will just see Rudiger with Garry and tbf Garry is now the lesser player between him and Andreas
