August 18, 20178 yr We've gone from Champions of English football with high praise to the medias whipping boys in a matter of months. Why does the British media have to jump on the anti-Chelsea bandwagon with constant reports of player/manager unhappiness and general negative reports on literally EVERYTHING we do? Are we really in the deep trouble they say we are? Are the players really unhappy? I feel like the media's 'fake' portrayal of our club has in fact done the very thing they're reporting and dumped a big cloud of doom over our fans, and possibly the mentality of the club itself sewing seeds of doubt into the minds of our players that everything is not right. I just feel like the British media is on a witch hunt to make sure we don't win the title 2 years in a row, and they're literally picking at every minuscule detail of our club to find a negative spin to fuel their constant stories about us. On the other hand, clubs like United and City are well in the spotlight and could do no wrong (after spending more than us on transfers and playing like crap last season with 2 of the 'best' managers in the world). Sorry I just feel really f*cking irritated by reading yet another story that Conte is losing the dressing room. We need to smash Spurs at the weekend, and stick two fingers up at these a*rsholes.
August 18, 20178 yr I'm a Chelsea fan and I'm mainly interested in news related to Chelsea. I read news about other teams but there is absolutely no feeling there. I read them objectively and forget them in a second. If there was a charge over racism in ManU I would forget it pretty soon. Not interested. If you look at what media does is they write the news. News about everything. Some more interesting some more accurate. The battle amongst the commercial media outlets is savage and they need to write to stay alive. I'm not living under any illusions we are the only club with negative news as I'm the worst person to objectively review it. If someone says your wife has an ugly blouse you tend to take it personally although that blouse might be awful. Same goes with Chelsea. The beautiful blue lady.
August 18, 20178 yr Yes, it's one big conspiracy, instigated by the FA, in collusion with Uefa and all media outlets. As supporters worldwide similarly believe about their club
August 18, 20178 yr I do think there is something in what AlwaysRights says though. These stories and the doom and gloom are self perpetuating by clowns like Skysports' Jim White and that idiot Brian Swanson who have nothing else to report on. For me it's quite telling that they do a piece on Tottenham's lack of transfer activity and draw in the retard Redknapp for his general unbiased opinion. It's because they are so strong and you wouldn't get in their starting eleven. That's why they hadn't signed anyone. Oh Right. Odd that we are being vilified for our transfer dealings this summer, whether it be who wants to leave, who has left to our rivals, who we have signed that's injured, who we have signed that is no better than who was already here or in fact, who we are not capable of signing because we haven't got the muscle to get the deals done. Of course what we should have done is wheeled out one of our old boys to say its all because we're the champions and our team is so strong. I'm sure Skysports and the papers would have lapped that up.
August 18, 20178 yr Chelsea are a journos paradise. We meltdown bigger than anyone and we win better than most.
August 18, 20178 yr It's what the media are all about in this country. Just give them a tiny opening and they will blow it up into something massive. They distort the truth to get people to read their stories. I mainly stay away from media stuff so it doesn't affect me too much. I don't read the rags, i don't watch Sky Sports News and i rarely listen to Talksport ( the only times i tend to tune in is when one of our rivals lose )
August 18, 20178 yr We are based in a rich part of London with a largely patriotic working class support led by a rich Russian businessman with a dodgy past. They obviously think we are fair game for being attacked. The only thing we can do is the talking on the pitch.
August 18, 20178 yr Nothing new, in the country that brought you john major, waiting for delayed trains in the rain and dot from eastenders, the first club in the country bought with supposedly dodgy Russian money, previously known for kicking everyones heads in better than anyone else on the island, comes on the scene and wins 2 leagues that we "bought" in a row to the heartbreak of the red arse kissing, be a good lad like David Beckham media. We were always going to be a media target.
August 19, 20178 yr we've got a huge following worldwide. the CFC FB page for instance has 42 million followers... The media can shat on us all they want, our fanbase will keep growing nonetheless! Plus, most of these guys in the media are middle aged men who were probably kissing red arses in their youth... Guess they did not complain that much when Utd and co were the biggest spenders (they still are actually)! We also get criticism because we changed the order in the PL by becoming one of the most successful club!
August 19, 20178 yr When anyone experiences success in England, the media will leap on any failures, perceived or real, not just Chelsea.
August 19, 20178 yr That's true, IMO the power bases in charge of this country detests any patriotic success they are nearly all globalists and will use their leverage over the media to attack anything successful that has a patriotic element.

What on earth was patriotic about Chelsea winning the league? The media did the same to Leicester in 16/17, Chelsea in 15/16 and United in 13/14. Were they all patriotic wins?
August 19, 20178 yr I think the media do it to Chelsea as they see us as having the most patriotic support. Not sure about Leicester and even less so about United.

I don't get this 'patriotic support'. How would that be objectively measured and how would it manifest itself? And why would the media - or power bases as you called it in another post - jump on it? If anything, I perceive most red tops to be chauvinistic to the extreme.
August 20, 20178 yr Sky love both of the Manc clubs, this time last year it was Zlatan this, Jose that blah blah. It's the same this season now Utd have Lukaku as well as Pep throwing a load of cash on players.
August 20, 20178 yr I've put a modest some on both us and Boro to win our leagues, did it last season with us and Newcastle, it came in by a whisker. I think we will win the league again despite the Manx clubs making all the signings. 'Captain' Conte will drill us to perfection and his desire will inspire our payers.
August 21, 20178 yr It didn't work. Conte is just one hell of a likeable bloke, i have so much admiration for how he conducts himself off and on the pitch. The media will now realise they are flogging a dead horse in trying to get the mud to stick to Antonio.

I agree with what you are saying about Conte, it seems a masterclass in bringing Antonio Conte to the club as his enthusiasm and professionalism is a refreshing change.
August 21, 20178 yr I'm sure most of the media had the 'Conte facing the sack' drafted out before the kick off, just waiting to fill out the blanks. 90 minutes later, draft deleted and re-write. What I found amusing is 2 games played, most of them have crowned United as the champion. I mean they did beat 2 teams at the bottom of the league, just a bit shorter than winning 13 games in a row.

August 21, 20178 yr If the champions lose first 3 games it is news. If someone feels we are targeted by media it is because we matter. I don't think there is any extra pressure on us from them.
