November 6, 20178 yr I was just watching yesterdays match over again (stress free) and noticed a lot of supporters wearing these half and half scarves with Chelsea on One side and United on the other. I just want to say that I think this is one of the most stupid things I've seen. I don't manage to get to SB that often, but when I do I would never even think about doing something like that, I would wear my Chelsea shirt and scarf and no colour from any other team, Chelsea through and through. What makes it worse is that it's United, a team that's one of our rivals, having half and half scarves with them, Liverpool, Arsenal or Spurs and seeing our fans wear them sickens me to tell you the truth. That's just my thought about it, just needed to get this off my chest.

November 6, 20178 yr Fact is, none of we fans who consider ourselves committed supporters in the traditional way, could ever, ever do such a thing but those scarves are not for us. They are for a different type of fan. For them the half and half is a bit like getting a programme. It's a sort of I was there token to them I think. Edited November 6, 20178 yr by OhForAGreavsie

Like you said for a memory buy a programme and not a scarf with the badge and colours of a rival on one half of it. Just seems silly. I don't like seeing this at all.
November 7, 20178 yr When i go to the bridge I do see a lot of tourist buy these to show they’ve been to the game, but I’d never wear won. Before the game there £10 and half price after and they look poor quality
November 7, 20178 yr The funny thing is our half of the scarf is called Chels as the sellers can’t use the full name as it’s copyright protected!!

November 7, 20178 yr The only half and half scarf I could just about imagine buying was if it was a Champions League final scarf, but even then I probably wouldn't buy it.
November 7, 20178 yr The half and half scarves are a joke. As others have said if you want a memento from a game buy a programme or keep the ticket. Why wear a scarf with the colours of a rival. Can you imagine a half and half scarf with Rangers and Celtic on it. @Maksimovas you say, a possible exception would be the scarf for a Champions League final. But like you I wouldn't wear it. I have enough Chelsea scarves I can wear when it's cold.

Reminds me of a story told to me by a couple of guys I go to the games with. Many years ago they had to been to see Chelsea play at Anfield. Driving home they stopped at a garage on the outskirts of Liverpool to buy some petrol. A Lamborghini was driven to the garage. The driver got out and guess what, he was wearing a shell-suit. This was about the time of the three Scousers sketches on Harry Enfield shows. Goes without saying that my mates pissed themselves from laughter.
November 7, 20178 yr Half and half scarves in Munich but I didn’t buy one. Had a shirt and program that was enough for me.

Think the driver cannot be a scouse driving a Lambo but has to blend in with the locals hence the shell suit. Thought it a bit strange when you said PAYING for petrol.
November 7, 20178 yr Loads of people with them in West Upper on Sunday. Combined with the thin air at that altitude it made me feel quite sick. Can’t wait to be back in the shed for Swansea!
November 7, 20178 yr Any actual football supporter hates them with a passion. When I was there on Sunday I was surprised by the the number of tourists that were taking selfies of themselves holding up a chelsea/man u half and half scarf... I expect there to be tourists at games that don't go on points but I couldn't understand how there was so many on Sunday when you needed at least 22 pts, that's at least 5 games you would have to go to. So these people shouldn't have been able to get the bridge in the first place, I wonder how they manged it? Then again I had to sit in the West Upper (since person I went with had less points & I had to wait later than I would've done to get the seats together) so I shouldn't be surprised but I just assumed there would be more fans in the same position as me and sat there because all other stands were singles/sold out.

The owner of the Lamborghini may not of been Scouse, but the driver definately was, just unfortunate that the driver didn't tell the owner he was taking his car!!!
November 8, 20178 yr Absolute F*****g ridiculous..... hate them with a passion - If you cant decide what team your going to support... f**k off.

November 8, 20178 yr The only time I've ever bought something like that was in Stockholm for the ECW Cup Final. It was a silk type one and I stuffed it inside my jacket. I was also a bit piddled. Yeah, they're a memento thing, I imagine for the once in a lifetime visitors to The Bridge. The scarves even have the match date on them. You'd think most were for the tourists who have no affinity with either team but sad to say, I've seen plenty being worn by those with Chelsea shirts on too. For gawds sake, buy the matchday programme. The modern state of affairs, you can't bring a drinks bottle with a cap into the stands but you can wear a scarf half covered with the oppositions colours on it, no problem.
