Icardi has been fined €100,000 for being late. He was late due to a flight cancellation, jeez what a steep fine.

Release clause is £90m, which doesn’t look crazy since we paid £58m for Pusilic and Pogba, Neymar, Mbappe etc etc. Get it done Roman!

I don't think we can land Icardi-quality in January. 

His release clause is only applicable in June, so I'm guessing we would have to significantly more to persuade inter to sell him mid season. I would bring him in at any cost to be honest, possible ban coming up, and a very few top strikers coming through these days. 

If we wait until the summer, I think he's off to Spain. 

No way our board will go after Icardi, our only hope is Roman getting involved like he did with Torres.

But I doubt he will. He may be thinking why pour 100m into a striker for Chelsea when I can’t even get a visa?

Don't think he's Barcelona bound as Messi is very close to Lopez. Maybe it's the two Madrid clubs

Yup, people don't realise that because he isn't the shiniest toy on the market at the minute. A popular name is more important than a players characteristics.

Kante was still a relatively unknown quantity when we signed him. He burst onto the scene with his season at Leicester and with a £30m release clause someone in England was always going to snap him up. Only after his season with us would I say the rest of world football really sat up and took notice of him. 

Jorginho. Pep wanted him but not sure I'd put him in the bracket world class or the sort of player all the big boys want to sign. The sort of signing that other clubs look on in envy at. Granted there's only a limited number of those types of players so they don't get signed too often. You could argue Fabregas was one of those players too even if Barca deemed him surplus.

Somewhat agree with Kante, but after that Leicester season he was definitely one of the most sought after players in England, its just most clubs assumed he wouldnt move. Now he's sought after by the likes of PSG.

Jorginho was sought after Pep/City and thats pretty big if you think about it, not quite the flashy world beater type that Madrid/Barca tend to sign but he (was at least) thought as one of the best CM's

and what abou Diego Costa? He was pretty sought after, especially after his stellar season with Athletico.

You could argue that he is exactly what we need though, regardless of link up play, he's going to finish chances.  Then again, if you can make an argument to buy Icardi, you could make an argument to just slot Batshuayi back into the team.  Good finishers but not tidy in other areas.

That's my biggest issue with the rumours. Why spend £100m when you have Batshuayi there already. Such similar players.

I like Bats, but he seems to be done at Chelsea. His loan with Valencia has been cut short due to his loss of form and supposedly Sarri has no interest in him.

Wouldn't surprise me if there's not much in it when comparing goals per 90. Icardi gets much more time on the pitch.

If this is all you see of Icardi, then you can't watch much of him. He's a complete nuisance for defenders, similar to the way Costa was for us. Costa wasn't much outside of the box either, but he keeps defenders busy and was aggressive, Icardi is similar in that way. He would offer a hell of a lot more than Morata and Giroud does. Icardi's head doesn't drop when a decision goes against him, he's strong and won't constantly fall to the ground when a defender is aggressive with him, and his link up play isn't as bad as some people suggest either.

Most def......Theres a reason big Clubs want him. To compare him and Bats is crazy to me, one is coveted and highly regarded, the other is on a failed loan. Simply dimensions apart imo.

Not having a go here, but i've watched a lot of Inter in recent years and this is wrong. Icardi is a top notch finisher, but he can play with his back to goal as well, and despite his height, he's great in the air and bullies defenders the way none of our current striking options do

There is no way that Icardi, such a big player will be leaving Inter in January. We even got Pulisic but he's still playing for someone else.

Well, it will be a dream move for me if we sign him. He is world class in what he does.

Not having a go here, but i've watched a lot of Inter in recent years and this is wrong. Icardi is a top notch finisher, but he can play with his back to goal as well, and despite his height, he's great in the air and bullies defenders the way none of our current striking options do

You are right, sometimes when I watch him, he reminds me of Costa
