I'm not overly keen on Martial and would prefer Depay but I'd still take him to give us a goal threat - I think we're still missing someone who will score 15+ goals, as it stands we still seem to be too reliant on Willian/Hazard.

So when the window closes and if we assume no big signings will happen in January, that means by the time next summer swings around we wouldn't have signed a new winger for 4 years (Pedro)?

Certainly needs to be an area we should look at and probably should have got someone in this window.

That's not good, although I doubt we would entertain selling anyone (except for a couple loans maybe) if we can't get anyone get in to replace them.  What a stupid idea though.

Never really got on board with Courtois, whereas Cech was an absolute legend for us.

Indeed. While our ins are done it seems and will be for sure in a few hours hazard and kante will continue to be linked away and wont be here for the season, or rather till Jan, for sure until September.

Well this is going to be a stressful 3 weeks then!!

yeah - our problem this year is that they wouldn't be cup-tied for the Champions League after Christmas and that'll make them attractive to several clubs in January. I think we need Sarriball to be a big hit quickly - if it's a success and the players enjoy it - and maybe have a chance of winning something, we might be able hold on to them

If we are not able to bring Martial in, I really hope we keep Michy.

As much as it would be nice to see a HG lad playing, Michy is easily our best option up top in my opinion.

It all seems too quiet for any more signings to be happening.  Last year on deadline day, it seemed much more frantic with a lot more rumors and talks being reported that day.

I think we are done now. We have done ok, i never thought we needed too many players anyway, my only concern is in attack. I said at the end of last season that RW needed to be strengthened over the summer and we didn't do anything to improve it. I don't think Sarri is suddenly going to turn Willian into a 10-15+ league goals player. I don't think Willian has it in him to score that many goals. I also think Pedro's best days are behind him now. We got all of the good we are going to get out of him in 2016/17.

So goals are my main worry with this team. We didn't score enough last season, we certainly need to score more this time around.

We're definitely running out of time to get an attack minded player in.  The only hope is if Mourinho gets desperate enough for a CB we can use Zouma as trade bait.  If we were to somehow land Martial it would have to be close to being a 10/10 transfer window.  And to think we were all so stressed not that long ago!

yeah - goals... I can see us playing with a false 9 again and we all now how that worked. I think we need to keep Bats and use Giroud sensibly. If Sarriball is going to help us get more people involved in attacking we might be able to make stuff happen around Giroud. Worked for France.

Yeah but doesn’t it take at least two hours for Martial to get to London from Manchester? Plus the negotiations will take time too.
