the worse thing about this match is the fact we already know that the ref will allow the hammers to take chunks of flesh off of CFC players - I just remember last season when Stuart Pierce grabbed the ball & kicked it into the stands without any commendation by the refs last season - i guess those are wet spam tactics tsk.gif

Against Everton's high line they were hitting balls behind the defence for their forwards to run into the space....can absolutely see the same tactics against us especially how high we play up the pitch....it could get nasty but I think we will prevail in a 5 goal thriller especially as I am still terrified of our back four and goalkeeper despite his price tag.

Oh dear. Flight cancellation means our lads still haven't landed back in England yet!

They had to stay a second night in Greece.

A night on the ouzo could do them some good, quality team building......or could ruin them like it does to me ha ha...

Is Kovacic injured, or are you just in favour of Barkley for this one?

Thought he was injured, would rather have him fully fit for Liverpool. Having said that, i think if he's fit Barkley deserves another run out after a good performance yesterday.

London derby, and hammers will play as if there lives depended on it. Slightly worried about this, and feel we might drop points here.

anyway I would go with ( I guess pedro will be out for this game?)

kepa

azbi rudiger luiz Alonso

kante jorginho kovacic

willian giroud hazard

subs caballero, christensen, Fabregas, Barkley, morata, Moses, zappacosta

after thinking about, this is the most difficult part of CFC's season at the moment. First a match away to PAOK. Next a match at Wet Spam, then going to anfield. The last bit will be a match at Stamford Bridge vs the dirty red scousers. I will be ecstatic for a win but a draw wouldn't be that terrible w/ this run of matches.

The old fella is a Hammers fan so will head out for the game, not looking forward to it as we've a mixed bag of results and performances when we play their lot away.

Factor in the delayed flight and I'm nervous as hell, the only saving grace is they beat Everton to finally claim points last weekend, that should lift some pressure on them and they wont be as desperate for points against us.

I predict another 2-0 win anyway with us having 65/70% of the ball and being frustrated for 70+ mins as West Ham park the bus, heading into the Pool game with 6 wins is a must as they'll likely tonk Southampton at Anfield by 3 or 4.

don't forget about their gaffa - I like Pellegrino - he won everywhere he went, so I think he can devise a game plan to disrupt Sarriball

I think we'll be o, im just more annoyed we spent 12 hours in Greece we could have used being home working on the game plan for this game.

They already lost to Pool 4-0 (a), Bournemouth 2-1 (h), Arsenal 3-1 (a), Wolves 1-0 (h).

They manage to take the lead in the Arsenal and Bournemouth games too, they've not really leaked goals in their losses but the old fella is fairly confident they'll roll over if Chelsea score early, I hope thats exactly what happens TBH. :o

well remember spuds a couple of seasons ago putting the pressure on? They went to Wet Spam & got busted up. Then last season they did us. + don't forget that League Cup match a couple of seasons ago. They always raise their game vs Chelsea.

They can raise it, and some, but if we turn up and play like we have been with most of the possession, then they will have to be very careful coming at us all guns blazing, that's exactly what Sarri would want. However if they sit back and soak it up and use the space in behind us when were further forward, it may turn out different. At the end of the day if we take our chances we win.

Can definitely see a lot of goals being scored in this one. I agree I am not convinced with our backline, its been solid so far minus the Arsenal game, but David Luiz is due to be caught out of position or an error. However our front line should have a field day with their defense. Sarri ball should cut them open, just have to worry, as you mentioned, about them launching long balls over our high line. Again interested to see if Giroud or Morata will get the start after how well Giroud played against Cardiff and Moratas performance last night against PAOK. I think Morata did well to get himself into positions to score and didn't miss any glaring chances, just could have done a lot better and felt he was unlucky at times. I would say this would be a good game for Morata to start and possibly get a goal or two to get his confidence back but I think you go with Giroud after how he played against Cardiff.
