Come on now...

I get it, he hasn't been great lately but he's still by far our best player, don't be silly.

No, I'm not being 'silly'.

When he's good he's very very good.  But more often than not he's not really at the races.  How many times has he been out of form since he's been here?  I've lost count tbh.  He's hardly the reliable player that can constitute part of the spine of our team week after week.

Too many people look at him with rose tinted glasses imo.

Funny how a couple of bad performances can swing your opinion. After a solid start to the season (though we were riding our luck), my completely honest view after last night's display, and having witnessed the Spurs capitulation in person is that clearly, Sarri has run out of ideas and the players know it.

Some of them are showng signs of not giving 100% and usually this goes only one way. Yes, there are major shortcomings within the squad (primarily defenders that can't defend and strikers that can't score), but this doesn't excuse a lack of effort and if a certain player isn't doing what's expected, they should be dropped, regardless of status. The club, and the team's peformance should always come first.

Sarri says he doesn't know what happened in the last 35 mins, and why we didn't try. Why not? He's been here long enough to know his players.

It would be interesting to hear a Napoli supporter's view on Sarri's methods, and what he is (or maybe isn't) likely do to now that results are going against him. It's time for him to make some bold decisions rather than banging the same old drum.

Another thing that worries me with this team is our energy levels. It always looks like the opposition can run all day long, but we seem to hit a wall as soon as the 2nd half starts. It's been going on for a while now at the club, maybe most of these players just aren't built for the physicality of the league.

But this is mostly the same squad who until very recently were scoring the highest number of goals in the final 10 minutes of matches, and who, last season were significantly stronger in the second half of each match, noted by the number of moans we were getting about sh*te first halves then stepping up in the second

Can anyone recommend a Chelsea Fan Forum which has Chelsea fans posting on it?

Hell of a lot of negativity in here these days,  @Liam.  Probably because we aren't 5-0 up in 20  minutes, and the object of each individual's pre-conceived diatribe against their own bug-bear player has made a pass that they don't consider was the right one.  That and the manager is obviously sh*te and no-one wanted him, and no-one at all in here, never, ever posted the videos of his Napoli team playing exactly how we do now, and despoiling their underpants about how dribbly, groovy it was and why couldn't the Chelsea Rovers play like that?

Personally, I was livid that both goals last night were a direct result of a misplaced pass by Mikel in 2008, and compounded by Luiz being completely out of position both times. Oh, and Willian.

I know Willian is a player often singled out but even you have to admit that he was poor last night @yorkleyblue

To be honest, @Nibs I didn't see the match last night, but from everything posted by people I respect in here, I would agree.

My trouble is with the people who constantly moan about Willian (or some other players) even when he DOESN'T play poorly, just because he is their scapegoat of choice.

Biggest disappointment last night was that there was no reaction to first conceding and then going behind. The substitutes made no difference , no urgency in our play the team collectively went into its shell. No captain on the pitch leading, no tactical switches from the sidelines. We became a rudderless ship having been in control of the match for large periods and really should have been three up by the the time of the collapse. We were beaten by a very average team who were lacking their best player but prepared to roll their sleeves and battle for the win. There now has to be a reaction from everyone, manager and players alike. We were simply not good enough last night.

He was average last night, but still tested the keeper on a few occasions with one shot just tipped over the bar. Wish i could say the same for Morata.

Let’s switch back to 3-4-3, bring Moses back in and get some points back. f**k it, Conte used this tactic to great effect, Sarri clearly doesn’t know what team is our best right now. Change something FFS. City will destroy us.
You remembered most people felt Conte is the problem and getting a new manager is the solution, well let's see where we are going with Sarriball.
And to all those expecting Sarri to drop Alonso and Kante to move that to his favorite position, don't get your hopes up, we have one of the most strict manager when it comes to making big changes to his first team line up.

Love Dave, but since he gone back to RB we have lost a central captain, how the hell can Alonso hear him? We need a CB captain again.

To be fair that was less to do with any tactical shortcomings and more to do with the fact that he was a massive arsehole.

Dross of the first order.
Not one player stood out for me.  Same problem re striker.  Same old same old pass left pass right pass back pass every direction except towards the frigging goal.
Is Kepa really a £70m keeper? - he doesn't look top dollar to me.
Hazard is a joke, usual running around looking great but when did he last score. RM can have him for all I care.
Losing faith in Sarri too.
Glad I never went tonight too.
You expect Hazard to score in every game right??

Giroud might not be much better but if he had started that game, we would have won.
I remembered a certain grounded cross in the second half where Morata couldn't connect with to score the second goal. Yes Giroud is sh*t, but he works hard and would have done everything possible to slide that ball into the net and Wolverhampton won't have come from two goals down to beat us!

I seriously put in a doubt the professionalism of this latin colony - Morata, Willian, Arizabalaga, Alonso. they act like they don't care.
I disagree about Kepa

Or the players are not happy about the team selection : Kante playing out of position thereby exposing the team defensively and the lazy Morata starting over the hungrier and hardworking Giroud.

Everyone, manager and team, has to put his hand up here. no fire in the belly and you get overrun, even by players who are supposedly inerior. No point in blaming Morata (or Alonso, (or Willian), the whole team lacked drive and urgency. I thought Fabregas tried, even i he wasn't very effective. I didn't recognise Kante and Hazard has been o or weeks. Things can only improve!!!

P.S. My F(ing) key is giving me problems.

I expect a who will be our next manager thread soon FFS

People who are calling for his sacking will moan when he gets sack and we are back to square one
I won't moan. I can't see his attacking pattern of play working for a top team with ambitions in the EPL. You sometimes need to know how to defend a goal to win a game.

We are all disappointed but to say we didn’t deserve to take a point is ridiculous. They had 2 shots and 2 goals. IMG_0723.jpg

What is so impressive with those stats?

17 shots and only 3 on target?

678 passes that gave us nothing?

Believe your eyes, not stats. If we deserved something from the game with this performance, then we are simply mid-table team.

Ultimately Rudi would be a good captain I think. One of the few players who looks like a genuine leader out there. Actually although he is still a teenager I can also see that quality in Ampadu too.

Do you mean the time when Morata was so obviously clipped down from behind? Even so, you are wrong. Morata might have missed it if he got the chance to score, but Giroud wouldn't even have been quick enough to be in the vicinity of action.

This is where Giroud fools people. I completely agree that Morata is hot garbage, this is obvious. Giroud on the other hand, is so slow that we never get to see how poor he really is.

poor showing from all players last night, starting to look like Arsenal used to for a few seasons.  All nice passing but no killer final pass / touch.  Although even then we've no one to put it away. Desperate need of a 20+ goal a season striker.  Still hoping Morata can be that..

I think we have a lot of options in the players we have behind the striker, and Sarri needs to adjust his plans for certain games and change tactics / formations to suit, even if it means changing mid way through depending how the games going,  not just stick to 1 formation.  Sometimes a slight change in tactics throws the opponent.   Def think Kante needs to play where he is best, Jorginho is class, but could he not also play beside Kante or further up?

Just my humble Opinion.

Still like ''Sarriball'' and Sarri, just needs to adapt, and lose the stubbornness.  Im no expert but you can see when the games crying out for a change.

Well I think something similar happened on Thursday against Bate and Giroud incredibly came from no where and got a touch to the ball beating the defenders ahead of him. Go and watch that again and tell me Morata would have even tried to have contact with the ball when two defenders are already ahead of him!
