As for Lukaku, well who in their right mind would want to buy him? But if he's as unhappy as he says he is then terminate your contract mate, we'll be more than happy to do that you w**ker.

Certainly doing well at selling and getting players off the books.

But the important part will be how they are replaced. As it stands right now the squad is in no way ready to compete and us going for Jackson as our first signing for £35 million doesn't fill me with a lot of confidence.

As things currently stand Im not too sure... As out and out wingers we only have Madueke, Mudryk and Sterling assuming all the transfer rumours come true.. I dont think you can rely on Madueke and Mudryk for an entire season when they're still pretty experienced and raw, which only leaves us with 1 senior winger. 

Unless we're linked with bringing in someone else, not sure if its the best idea just yet to sell Pulisic as well.

The main issue is that he wants to see us fail so badly, and hes pissed as hell that we managed to find a way to offload a ton of our players that previously people were thinking was really hard to do. 

Deep down he wishes united could do the same, but their players arent as desirable to the saudi's

not many of the players need to get replaced as our squad was so huge. Its mainly still the midfield and a striker that needs some reinforcements

Defence is fine but midfield and attack especially need a lot.

Enzo is literally our entire midfield at this point after all the sales. I hear we are after Caicedo but if we fumble him then I fear we are going to go after player in the "Jackson" bracket there too which wouldn't be good enough at all.

Oh I agree, midfield for me is by far the biggest issue. Caicedo alone wont be enough and we'll need at least 1 more midfielder on top of him and ideally 2 more assuming all rumours for our outgoings come true. 

Potential midfield this season: Enzo, Caicedo + 1 or 2 of Kone/Lavia/Caqueret
Out: Mount, Ruben, Gallagher, Kovacic, Kante, 
Loan: Casadei, Santos, Hutchinson, Chukwuemka

forwards is a similar story if we sell all the rumoured ones that are supposedly going out, so we'll likely need a striker and 1 experienced winger

Better than spending 100million on another striker. I actually like the Jackson signing since were already spending big on Calceido. We can’t spend 60mil + on everyone every transfer window

"No Way Ready to Compete"

You lot are already in for a frustrating season if your expectations straight off the bat are to compete for the league. Tamper your expectations. We've just had a massive overhaul, new manager, new players, young squad, and off a 12th place finish. 

Should realistically be competing for a European place and a good run in the domestic cups. 5th should be the goal. (Which could also potentially qualify us for Champions League)

We will be worse than last season if we don't get a midfield.

You are not going to play a whole season with 3 midfielders, but ideally we need 6 midfield players even without Europe. I reckon we will buying 2 midfielders, and keeping 2 of Casadei, Santos & Chukwuemeka. We are also going to sell only 1 of Mount or Gallagher. 
If we end buying Caicedo, I would hope the 2nd midfielder would be someone to add some creativity in the middle of the park. James Maddison who is Spurs would have been ideal but seems we are not interested even at £40m. City & Arsenal have creative players in the middle of the park, that is why they are miles ahead of the competition. Utd have Fernandes & Casemiro, & could potentially add Mount, and Liverpool moving TAA into the middle of the park adds another dimension to their game. I will be honest I don't think we will get in top 6,the squad is to young,with barely any leaders,and so many other teams will strengthen.

Apparently Pochettino loves a double pivot so really we'll only be playing 2 midfielders most games throughout the season. 2 starts + 2/3 subs and we're probably okay for this season specifically. Worst case as well we just dont loan out Chuk or Santos and keep them around in the first team and perhaps even play Hall there. 

We will need at least 2 new signings for midfield though

I expect us to battle bravely against relegation.

None of the players we have sold were big goal scorers for Chelsea. It’s very obvious we are building a new team based arounf fresh young faces.  Lampard first season as manager was exciting and fun even if ultimately not good enough. 
 

again look at brighton last season. They just about made the required grade

my expectations are always minimum too 4. That’s always a tough ask and getting tougher, as Newcastle and other clubs get more money and can compete for the talent. 
 

there is no point in buying players like Mudryk, madueke, chukwumeka if you don’t give them minutes. 

Therevwill be a bit riding on nunkunku. Some muscle from Caicedo 

I want to give carney a run as the creative midfielder but that only works if there are three in midfield. 
another issue is that  right now there are Pulisic/ mount/sterling/mudryck competing for one left attacking spot. And that assumes nunkunku can nominally  start on the right even though he needs to be central. Or maybe he is yet another false 9. 
 

it’s a new young  team. Pochettino will have a great opportunity to really show what he can do. Who really knows how  a new young will do. Probably it will be a mess

Assuming the FFP deadline on 30th June is correct, have we managed to clear any losses? Haven’t done the maths but I Think I saw that we’ll be ok. 
 

1st July is a new FFP 3 year cycle so guessing  the club are waiting until then to sign any new players. 

We have shipped more players than I expected

Fair point about the double pivot; one little problem is Enzo’s father has said his son would like to play further afield and would be asking Pochettino to move him, which I assume is playing him in a 3 man midfield with a DM doing the dirty work. I know Enzo has played in a mid 2 for Argentina & Benfica but the demands for that role in the PL are way higher, we saw that last season. I feel playing him in a mid 2 is like buying a Ferrari and using it as an off road vehicle.

Are you sure about that? According to his Shed End account @Gol15, he posts that his son would like to be a deep-lying playmaker!

In a team expected to dominate possession the double pivot can effectively be the same as playing a 3 man midfield. Dedicated defensive support can be provided either by a DM staying back, or a CB pushing forward from the backline. Pochettino has historically used a DM dropping into the backline as needed so I think we'll probably see that. Assuming we sign Caicedo, I think we have two perfect players in Reece James and Marc Cucurella who could play that role really well while still being an attacking threat.

I agree but Pulisic is not who you go to for experience or reliability.  

But I won't complain about it if he's here for another season, at the end of the day, the owners have a done a great job just shifting a lot of the crap we already have so quickly.
