If he knew they'd be so misaligned in approach I bet he wouldn't have brought them on. We don't know if he even had a choice and others were lined up instead of clearlake and he chose clearlake specifically. But I do think others wouldn't mind giving him the money now though.

( Apparently) Another thing , who is it that makes sure that the contract stipulations are adhered too ? The stuff about paying dividends, the new or rebuilt stadium, etc , which were all part of the winning bid ? Quickest take over in history apparently. 2/3 months? It’s unheard of. I read any “contract stipulations” are basically unenforceable. The govt have no control, Roman can’t..they can probably do what they like.
September 10, 20241 yr Boehly didn't help his cause with some of the decisions taken early in his tenure when he still had more say in the running of the club. That being said, I still feel like he is the better option to win this battle. As others have pointed out he invested his own money. He also seems to want some stability. And it helps that he understands something of running a successful sports team, even in a different sport. Whether he will win this battle remains to be seen though.
September 10, 20241 yr As a veteran PE employee in North America, I feel like I can give a little bit of insight. Ill admit up front I’m on the side of us all waking up tomorrow and the club reverts to pre sanctions and Roman is back in charge, but barring that: the day to day operations of management of a company under a PE firm umbrella generally involves 2-3 things: reporting to the board, which the c-suite does on a weekly basis in most cases on such financial factors as number of weekly sales, turnover/renewal rate for the week, etc. Basically, the day to day consists of micro management to the point of stifling any growth thinking and innovation. all of this is just a warning for those who think either boehly or egg Ali will be best that neither is likely any f**king good. but that said boehly at least has some experience managing a successful sports franchise, whereas eghbali appears to be the new money snob who recently joined your golf club who thinks he’s better than everyone else and wants everyone to know everytime he has a flashy new toy. end of the day. If we go into receivership and have to start again in league 2, f**k it, that adventure under a good owner would almost be more fun

Et cetera. Given the context of the contract alone, it will be enforced.

I can tell you that because this guy, the sporting director, is somebody that I've spoken to now, I get to know really well now, and hearing from him, it's amazing. It's refreshing to see where the club, the owners and the Sporting directors, especially Paul want to take the club to, there's so much to be happy and excited about." ~ @obionepodcast Oh how exciting. Shame this doesn't tell us anything, meaningless bleating from Mikel as far as I'm concerned.

September 10, 20241 yr What's the Mikel's role in this, with the amount of interest he showed, think he's more involved than just an ex-player and pundit. That's a lot of praise for a guy who failed to get over the line, imagine if he did get the deal done😄 Try it again in the next window?

Mikel reckons ( I read it somewhere on social media ) 🤣 he was involved in the attempted transfer of Osimhen. f**k knows WHY he was involved though. If only he could now reveal why exactly he is so pleased and excited after a chat with "Paul" instead of keeping it to himself. Turd

I even defended him when someone said he's useless. But it's all gone to his head! He's really so fkn annoying now. Thinks he's some kind of famous movie star or something. They're bad enough.

Antony Taylor after a " friendly chat" with the owners. And a change in the staff for the match day executive box at Stamford Bridge.
September 10, 20241 yr Both parties standing firm, this will clearly drag out for quite some time. Just hope as the seasons go by, both parties keep it professional, but this is Chelsea after all, never a dull day.

[@JacobsBen] Recruitment is an issue between the parties. Sources speaking to LondonWorld on condition of anonymity have said that Boehly intended to focus not only on players who could be good for the future, but also on those who could immediately adapt to a top club where winning is the ultimate goal.
