April 29, 20224 yr I'd dearly love Jim Ratcliffe's bid to win, as it would clearly be the best bid by a country mile, indeed the only one that doesn't display any luminous red flags: x - Vast and fully accessible wealth (all controlled by one individual, not locked away across five self-serving consortium members/venture capital firms) x - Accountability (one British individual holding full accountability for the success of the club, not five individuals living 5000 miles away) x - Genuine football fan, thus increasing prevalence of drive to win motivator (Chelsea season ticket holder, British) Sadly, I just can't see Raine accepting a brand new bid this late in the day, and I imagine Jim Ratcliffe already knows this fully well. Processes are processes and deadline are deadlines for a reason. Raine would lose a lot of credibility and goodwill - particularly amongst the American financier community that they most frequently serve - if they allowed Ratcliffe to suddenly ride roughshod over the entire, painstaking sales process they have conducted to date. April 29, 20224 yr Is that Harry Potter bid actually granted? With the deadline last month. I can’t imagine that is allowed.

April 29, 20224 yr So Raine have done their bit and offered up Boehly as the preferred bidder (I wonder how much Raine are getting paid in all this ?) ... now over to Roman to make the actual decision. If Roman decides to sell to Ratcliffe, there won't be any egg on Raine's face, as they have done what was asked of them.
April 29, 20224 yr Sources close to the process have indicated that the Boehly group will now have a ‘period of time’ - understood to be between 5 and 7 days - to ratify an exclusivity agreement to indicate their full intentions to press ahead with a take over. - @MailSport
April 29, 20224 yr The Boehly bid were only told around an hour ago (about 12 ET) they were the preferred bidder. However, they have been confident for weeks. They are surprised and confused by the Ratcliffe bid but don’t see it as cause for concern as they look to complete the sale before May 31.
April 29, 20224 yr Dorris the liverpool fan MP wading in again must of been the warning shot from the state to say hurry up etc What about that extra 500m that roman wants? Boehly stuff could be PR

But you have to question why Radcliffe has waited this to long to register an interest.

Why say you are not interested in the beginning and then either make an 11th hour bid or be secretive about a bid till right at the end? All the time spent by the main bidders talking to people important to the club yo waltz in at the end is a bit disrespectful especially to the fan base. Given he has the funds to buy the club over the weekend why has it taken so long?

April 29, 20224 yr Ratcliffe was born in greater Manchester and supports Manchester United, he has a season ticket but let’s be real about how much he actually ‘attends’ the bridge, maybe just when United are playing? Everything that came out the Boehly camp has been promising, his plans sounded the best. Bruce Buck must be gutted after giving Ricketts the red carpet treatment.
April 29, 20224 yr Hopefully the first thing Boehly does appoint a sporting director and sort out our scouting department. After giving Tuchel a 5 year extension of course. Edited April 29, 20224 yr by Sconnie Blue

Yeah i was thinking the same years back when his named cropped up but wouldn't it be easier to get a man utd ST and fly into Manchester or w/e, being that rich i find it hard to imagine he would buy a st at the bridge but not up north?! Maybe hes just trying to de stabilise/wink at the glazers etc few hurdles yet lads! Edited April 29, 20224 yr by Kantesmini
April 29, 20224 yr I doubt Radcliffe's bid goes through. It's too late and it would honestly just delay things further where we have a lot of work to do this summer. We aren't just building the men's first team but a lot of work will also be going on behind the scenes in terms of the restructuring of the board etc. Edited April 29, 20224 yr by Frankie8Lampard
