Like a song. 😄 I think Luca moved to USA and he decided to be more American and changed his name to plain old Steve. Chelsea has a strong connection to italians so Pagliuca is probably a good fit as well. Like Borat. Edited April 28, 20224 yr by Night-T
April 28, 20224 yr Raine are confident of selecting #Chelsea's preferred bidder by Monday at the latest. [via @JacobsBen] First it was Thursday or Friday. Now it’s Monday. Always 48 hours away.

April 28, 20224 yr Roman wanting the money to go to the relief efforts is not surprising. Since putting the club up for sale that is where he wanted the money to go in the first place and why he set the 3bill asking price. He has added demands to benefit the club too we are told too and explains the delays.
April 28, 20224 yr Why is Roman asking for another £500m when he won’t be receiving any of the cash? Doesn’t make sense. Surely he knows that the bigger the outlay on the club, the less funds will be made available for transfers etc. Moving the goalposts.
April 28, 20224 yr To the casual observer all these hoops that the buyers are being made to jump through are absolutely bizarre. At what point do they collectively tell Roman where to stick it ? I'd be utterly pissed off if I was the potential buyers with all these moving goalposts. Roman invited offers, they all made one. He just needs to pick whichever he feels is best, and stop all this nonsense. It all smacks of someone that doesn't want to sell, and is playing for time in the hope that the situation in Ukraine changes rapidly in a way that appeases the western world, and results in the withdrawal of sanctions.

April 28, 20224 yr So what happens if none of the three bidders want to cough up another 500 mill? If Roman is trying to delay the sale in case the war ends, I still don't think he'll get unsanctioned anyway.
April 28, 20224 yr Im hoping this is all old infomation thats just trickling down the chain and that stuff like this was already required The price was set at 3 billi so I suspect the parties left have dropped to 2.5 billi with the hopes to use the 500m plus invest another 500m before selling again which then leaked but isnt actually meeting the requirements and raine are stressing that if they keep pushing no one will actually buy. Grim. It will soon turn into the sale being pushed back/cancelled and the club either being handed back OR PLUNGED INTO THE FECKIN MULTIVERSE The clubs being treated like an ultra rare porno on a pile of money at a gambling table! Fingers crossed everything works out for the best but the ship is heading towards shallow water ffs!
April 28, 20224 yr On the one hand it is very good and noble of Roman to ask that, as the war victims certainly need as much help as possible and that is much more important than a football club. On the other we Chelsea fans have been suffering through this whole process through no fault of our own, as well as treated like criminals and supporters of the war, and this adds more suffering. April 28, 20224 yr Raine are confident of selecting Chelsea's preferred bidder by Monday at the latest. There have been 'final' meetings in London this week but all three groups say there haven't been formal pitches or anything officially structured as an 'extra' stage. The strategy, cost and roadmap for renovating Stamford Bridge continues to be a big part of Raine and Chelsea's consideration. That puts Boehly and Broughton in a stronger position that Pagliuca. Pagliuca, however, has impressive plans for post-renovation, including generating non-football income. Chelsea have reiterated the need to "maintain" (football side) and "modernise' (business and stadium). All three groups have confirmed their controlling owner will stay until at least 2032. This is seen as a 'binding' commitment. It's yet to be confirmed how (legally) this will be enforced. It's an unprecedented ask for a football sale. There is also no clarity yet on where the sale money goes. Abramovich has said it will be donated to 'victims of the war in Ukraine'. As previously reported, Chelsea may have to set up a charity. Doesn't appear funds can be channelled through the existing Foundation. @benjacobs
