I think that @axman2526 made a very good point in the next managers thread. This is the owners dream. Buying shed load of potential, whether players and coach, to build the “greatest” team in 5-10 years time. But, they’re used to the American games, which are sh*t and don’t work the same way as European football. And football is probably more unpredictable than American football or baseball in that great youngsters don’t fulfill expectations for many reasons. They think that their American way is the best, but it’s not.

If they did it the "American way", they would've kept Tuchel and bought him Olise, Kvaratskhelia, Palmer, Osimhen, Gvardiol, DiMarco, Araujo, and Mamardashvili.

That would've been a carbon copy to how Boehly handles the LA Dodgers.

Boehly hasn't really been involved in transfer decisions since the disastrous first season. If you look at our signings back then we were going after a few more established players. Although with no SD appointed at the time. Boehly made a lot of mistakes and lost his control as a result.

We can debate the issues until the cows come home, bottom line is these cants aint changing tack come hell or high water, they know that the clubs value will double in the next decade IF it remains in the division; that's their get out of jail insurance and why they don't care about spunking a billion on incompetent managers, untalented players and FC Strasbourg a 2 bob Ligue 1 outfit until it received their largesse (with a few exceptions of course - Pochettino, Palmer, Caicedo & Fernandez). If they do give this clown Maresca the tin tac he'll be replaced with a similar profile mug of a manager on another 5 year deal definitely not a world class manager like Carlo Ancelotti (who will soon be available one would imagine). Ok, that’s probably right as you know your sports better than us here. What we see is teams that don’t get relegated, don’t play in the cities they’re supposed to and have a common youth pot rather than own academies. So, I’m not surprised that Boehly came and threw a few comments about how things work worse here and knew f**k all about football in general (didn’t he say he didn’t understand the relegation stuff at some point?). And that transpires throughout the CFC structure at the moment.

I'd say Cucurella turned out as a decent signing. He had a rough start, partially due to off-field issues (long illness etc.) but he has been one of our top performers last couple of seasons.

Fofana was a risky signing with his injury record and it hasn't worked out for that reason. A decent player if fit but luck does not seem to be on his side.

Koulibaly and Sterling were awful signings.

You have to remember that all bar Cucurella were our second or third choice signings, thanks largely to our board messing around and Barcelona steaming in.

I do think some are being a bit harsh on those fans.

They probably had a hundred thoughts going through their head at the time. Maresca, the players, the poor performance, etc. Most of the time, football fans are so riled up after seeing such a poor performance that they just sound completely irrational. You only need to look at AFTV over the years to see that. So I think expecting them to compose themselves, walk up to Eghbali, who they weren't expecting to just appear out of nowhere, and get everything out in a rational and coherent way is unrealistic.

I'm amazed the guy appeared at all. He's either very brave, very stupid or a bit naive. There's a lot of passion, anger and resentment going around right now, I wouldn't walk down a road at night with a bunch of angry football fans around. It takes one wrong answer by Eghbali and one idiot to jump in and things could turn very ugly.

Personally, I would love to ask Eghbali many questions to his face, but I doubt I could do it straight after watching one of our performances. I'm not sure I would be able to compose myself and ask the right thing.

We're 5th in the EPL and some of these fans are acting like we are in the relegation zone.

I'll be honest, some of these guys need to get a grip. I would be eager to see how some of these folks handle adversity they face in their day-to-day lives, because they sure lose their marbles whenever a player kicks a ball the wrong way. sh*t happens

Without the lucky 4 points at the weekend we'd be 14th since the Everton game. Why are you happy with mediocrity? We've been bordering on relegation form for 4 months now with no sign of improvement.

Cucurella problem is not the player. It is the fee, for 60m you expect games changing fb.
