Conte was always going to change formation to his set up. Conte wasn't flexible, he just let the old way die on its ass before insisting on his style.

Sarri went straight in with his style.

Both equally inflexible.

Which is fine, it's their style. But styles typically take time to work.

The problem for Sarri is that his style WAS working early in the season but now it isn't and we're getting worse with each game. He needs to fix things a bit sharpish as time isn't something you usually associate with our board.

I can't see him fixing anything. He already made it clear that his plan A must work. He will keep on doing the same thing over and over again until the season ends and then he can get some new players if the board supports him.

It's not getting worse each game, it just seems like it because we played city away on the back of three bad away results since the new year. Coincidentally that spell comes when were having a barren run on goals. The two are linked, the Bournemouth game a prime example, we had it in the bag, but not the back of the net, we pushed higher and higher, you know the rest. The city game was a realisation that if you go to the etihad to play football, you better be good at it, we are not there yet.

So Sarri's tactically naive and can't figure out to score goals?

I wouldn't say that, i would say he's in a new league, new as in completely new, nothing like he was used to in Italy. So i figure it will take more than 6 months to become tactically aware in this league. He won't be the first or last to have to adapt to this league.

But that's not a snappy over-simplistic one-liner cliche

I know what you're saying coco. Let's get Eddie Howe in.

Good shout.

No point looking at any new managers until this squad is chopped up, especially a young English manager,

No, like Pep, Klopp Fergy, Wenger (ok forget the last one.

Be careful what you wish for.

I'm not sure what the answer is to be honest (hence why I declined to give a serious vote) but the next Brendan Rodgers IMO isn't it.

I would say that Sarri needs time. Guardiola also had terrible results in his first season. He does need to be given the money in the summer so that he can get the players he wants.

Not sure if serious or not but Eddie Howe who's Bournemouth have lost their last 9 away games.

I agree he has taken one of Europe's elite squads and completely ballsed it up.

We are not one of Europe's elite squads! We're in the Europa League for a reason.

No, Eddie Howe has taken over and... Oh never mind.

Will try go away next season. I live in Bristol so not TOO far for me. Just got to contend with the small allocation.

And they have an incredible  Cuban Salsa Congress Weekender there every year.

I think the percent breakdown from the poll in the header sums up the way us lot on here, and other CFC fans feel about Sarri. Most want Sarri to stay on, but with the caveat of the CFC board backing him in the market to address the player issues we've all seen not just this season but the last few. But lets not kid ourselves, the club don't care for our opinions, Roman is the ruler of CFC, the board his cronies. He will ultimately decide Sarri's fate based on the rest of this month's results most likely. It is in most of our minds unfair to expect a complete change of style without 'teething' problems and the continuing presence of a fair few 1st team squad players that will never suit that new style. I seriously DOUBT that Roman got to where he is today by being fair about a thing ?

Sarri should at least use the the hand that he has been dealt properly.  He knew what the squad was before he arrived and has already brought in a couple of his own players, one of who is struggling big time. It's the one-dimensional tactics that I don't get.  Same 4-3-3 set up every single game with just the odd change in personnel and no obvious changes to formation or roles when we are getting royally stuffed.

Seems every other team is blaming the board and wanting to sign more/better players e.g. Arse, Manure,  I'm not even sure where such players are to be recruited from and half the time it's an expensive gamble - think Bakayoko, Batshuayi, Morata.  Also always wonder why we even bother with any sort of youth setup when hardly any are given more than just a bit part in the first team!
