Match Going Fans

If it’s not happening already, it won’t be long before TV coverage artificially  enhances singing at Premiership grounds IMO.

Id say one of the selling points of the EPL internationally is the atmosphere at grounds, compared to Seria A and La Liga, but it’s definately on the wane

Theyve probably got a synthesiser with various chants and cheers ( bit like when you watch the Football League highlights show and they edit in crowd noise after a goal)

The biggest problem at the bridge is this "Chelsea together" bunch of clowns. they shout their mouths off about being tolerant yet the second anyone goes against their thoughts they basically shout them down as racists, bigots etc. They want to get rid of any working class fan and turn it into an afternoon at the theatre, kept safely away from those uncouth yobs who sing those dreadful songs...well any songs really.

They've probably banned so many there's no-one left with any individual thinking and balls.

I remember back in '08 people at least tried to help with the "back to the shed" or "the shed 100" or whatever that was.

Now it seems a lost cause

I remember that too, it didn’t really take unfortunately.

I think the club are secretly happy that the atmosphere is slowly dying off, they can put the prices up for their higher class of fan.

Long term though it just won't be appealing for most fans.

Would be nice if the CPO did something about this issue. I don't care how plastic it may seem, creating a singing section in the MHL is essential. Whatever needs to be done, do it.

I used to go to the bridge with my dad befofe Roman took over. We had memberships for two seasons. The funny thing is, I haven't been to a game since Roman took over.

I fell out of enjoyment with football for years during my late teens and early 20's. It was only a few seasons ago I got back into it again. I guess this is why I feel we should have patience with manager, but also bring some youth through.

I find, with all these Chelsea YouTube  fan channels, it perpetuates the notion of current match going fans as spoiled and entitled. When we are not on a good run there's fans booing and jeering players, as well as calling for the manager's head.

I think people need some perspective and realise success isn't always guaranteed, and we have come a damn long way since before Roman. The clubs who have had most success in England started off earlier than us and had the chance to move way ahead before Abramovic's takeover.

I think now with better run clubs, better coaches coming to England, and generally more competition, it's tougher than ever to remain consistently successful.

Even when we were losing.

Getting behind the team. The proverbial 12th man. Nowadays we sing a bit first ten minutes, then mostly silent until the games wrapped up- then if the results gone our way is more gloating than anything else.

Backing your team when they need it, rather than giving it Charlie large at the end.

Absolutely. The club, players and manager need the support now more than when we were winning. Time to rise to the fore, as in my opinion it is the supporters job to support.

As the song goes, I was born born under a Chelsea star !.

TBH a lot of the frustration with Sarri seems to be that he doesn't change things when things are going badly.

The like for like FB swap in a couple of recent defeats in particular has been a bit cringe.

I think he'd get more support from the matchday fans if he at least tried something different, whether it worked or not. We can see it's not working. He must be able to see it's not working. Everyone can see it's not working. Why keep doing it? Change things up for 20 mins.

I think that's what the "f*ck Sarriball" chants were about. We're getting beat by Utd. Planning for next season be bollocksed. Do something to get us back in the game. Don't fiddle about with the fullbacks.

Whichever of you went to the game tonight - you were fantastic!

There was a little kid (and I mean little) by me today, didn’t stop singing the whole game. I wanted us to win it for him but fair play to the lad he didn’t lose his sh*t when we lost either. Put a lot of our older supporters to shame.

Good on the lad.

From the stream, it appeared first half the singing seemed pretty even, second half the CFC fans were tremendous.

Quite nervy in the beginning of the first half, picked up towards the end and just kept going.

Where were you seating? We were top voice first 20 minutes or so, Spurs tried but could not get any song going, quiet from both supporters last 15 minutes or so. Second half we grew as the team started going too. Spurs were the silent lot except for a few “y*ds! Y*ids! Y*ds!” (and that was them, not us) they tried.
