Players report to pre-season training next week, so we know the announcement will be any day now. Thursday at the latest, I'm hoping.

Only problem is, the announcement will be the return of the FSW. The longer this takes the more I feel the club are having second thoughts about Frank. I just hope the  FSW hasn't jumped from Newcastle because he has had the nod from our board. Nothing would surprise me. Its Squeaky bottom time.

Lampard, Benitez and Jose Part 3 are the only candidates I'd be looking at if I was the board ... and they all have their pluses and minuses ... FSW and Jose have the advantage of a good track record and zero compensation to hire them.  FSW big negative is that most of the fans will hate him. Hiring Jose would be an act of faith in his break from the game returning him to previous "special" levels rather than the parody we've seen in recent seasons.

Frank is a huge gamble, but something about it feels right .... I suppose if it doesn't work out there is always JT waiting in the wings to have a go LOL ...

We are in a situation where we are hoping our next manager is a former player who has one year experience of managing in a Championship team. At the same time we are afraid it could be one of two highly decorated managers of footballing world. By two I mean 1. The other one is a waiter.

Really hope it is Frank.

Breaking News: Derby have confirmed that they given permission for Chelsea to speak to Frank Lampard!

Wah hey!

Their official account just tweeted it too.  Should be all tied up in the next couple days I’d imagine!
