I voted for second place.
I believe that we will evolve a lot, it will still be a year of construction and growth, we need time and work to reach the level of City for example but I think we can get closer.
I think Liverpool will fall from here.

The survey was for this season (2019-2020).

I just mentioned this in the Lampard thread but just to reiterate and highlight it and put even more accurate figures.

75.59% of the votes on this forum had us finishing 4th or below. 6.1% had us winning the league so I would assume were at the wind up.

That leaves 18.31% of us who thought we would finish 2nd or 3rd.

Maybe worth remembering before positing your thoughts on the season, what exactly did you vote originally? Certainly when compared against the averages here, if we get third or fourth we will have exceeded the expectations of most while integrating a number of youth players.

Irrelevant of what happens in the next 2 games - this has been a good season for us and provided the building blocks for us moving forward.

We are fortunate to be in top 4 but who cares. It’s still a great progress, Lampard’s second year as manager, a full year at top level for the young players such as James, Abraham, Mount etc. We’re only going to get stronger.

Its amazing how people soon forget what they were willing to let go this season once we lose a few games, all the bluster about being happy for us to lose as long as we have young players progressing in the team, Frank is learning on the job, we play "good" football (whatever the hell that is) etc.

Short memories, short sighted, and even shorter patience.

Has it been progressing though?

We're winning some of the games but the deficiencies are still there since the first game of the season.

I agree that the we as fans are harsher these days when Lamps got us to Top 4 despite everything.

I dont think you read what I wrote, I never mentioned if it has been progressing.

Leicester winning 2-0, if they win the next match away to spuds, and manyoo beat palace and WHU, and we lose to Livpoo, that will mean even if we beat Wolves, if Leicester vs Manyoo play out a draw the last game, we finish 5th. So in the coming days we'll have to support spuds and WHU, which never feels right.

Or, we win all our games and stay in 3rd. Its in our hands, thats all you could ever ask for at this stage of the season.

I’m still keeping my fingers crossed, it’s still a big ask for Leicester to beat Spurs and United. There’s been a few times where a draw would have benefit both sides but it rarely happens. ?
