Why would we want to put pressure on Tammy ? If we buy a new striker he will have to realise that unless Tammy completely dries up on goals (not happening) he will be #2.

Remember the last time we won the league, we had a top striker in Costa, his back up for the season was Michy.

Michy was a lot better that season, he seems to have gone downhill. Maybe our style of football doesn’t suit him.

I wonder how Lampard is feeling about the news. There’s pros & cons, the plus is he can sign whoever he wants to strengthen the team (Obviously) but the negative is if he spends he’ll be under pressure.

Personally I hope he keeps the same mindset and stick with the youth, so there isn’t much pressure on him.  Think everybody have mixed feelings about the news which is understandable.

Crazy really, thinking we were in serious Trouble when we first received the news!

Less than 15 minutes into todays match and its evident again that perhaps we need a new defender, maybe even someone slightly older who can organise the back line.

Other than that i wouldn't be to hasty in upsetting the balance in midfield beyond, if Giroud leaves then we can get an upgrade or if Sancho is available we have to have a go.

 

 

If surgeons can take a face from one human and implant it onto another human, i want us to blow some dollars on getting Kepa some longer legs.

Zouma isn't the same player at LCB

If we have a buy-back on Ake, I would do it. I also think Bournemouth would be happy to have Christensen. We give them him cheap, with another buy-back clause. We see how Christensen fares with regular first team football playing for a weaker side. Maybe he will develop, though I doubt we'll ever go back in for him.

Werner, LB (Chilwell/Telles/Grimaldo), CB (Romagnoli, Umtiti)

Once Rudiger is ready to play, he get's back into the team, but he's not a dominant CB. Get a dominant CB paired with Rudiger and have Tomori learning from the pair of them and we are set. Zouma and Christensen should never be our first choice CB's, they have too many weaknesses.

It's highly doubtful we will find one in January though and I don't want us to rush it with a stop gap signing. 

I wouldn't be surprised if we strengthened at wide back this window, not saying that is the priority just think this might happen.

I think now we have the money it is important to use it to keep players on their toes.

Ha. Not gonna happen but agree absolute beast. He is the main reason liverpool are where they are, and it illustrates just how crucial that position is - Psychologically as much as all the other reasons.

Still say stick it out for the rest of the season and see exactly what we've got when the summer rolls around. A few players are in a bad run right now but that may not indicate their potential. Even Tammy needs more game time to really reach his ceiling. Bringing in someone to take his minutes away is not going to help him develop. Michy is capable as a backup and teetering on the edge of wanting more. Frankly anyone better we could sign will not be happy starting on the bench anyway. 

The added bonus is a player or two could become unsettled at their current club before the summer hits, giving us more options. I wouldn't be surprised to learn a few Juventus or Bayern players aren't quite happy where they are for example

Of course it’s not happening. Just wishful dreaming. Van Dijk is so good I can’t help but appreciate him.

We need to find someone similar quality. Is Koulibaly as good as Van Dijk?
