Why is it too important?

Come on DKW, I'm obviously taking the piss, I know your opinion of me is pretty low but I didn't think it was that low!

There's rumours finishing it in Perth now is an option:laugh2:

Even as someone who's preference is to end it when safe i find this ridiculous, however i can see the player's actually agreeing to it, what better way to mentally escape this nightmare than a month in the country that's almost killed the virus?

I've just seen Australia aswell, but it's all paper talk at the moment, I can't see how that would be feasible.

End the season. Give Liverpool the title. relegate no one. Promote Leeds and West Brom. Cancel the league cup. Relegate 4 next season and promote 2.

It's been the most sensible solution for months. Why are we f**king about with any other scenario.

Then that just makes next season even longer and complicates things, football fixtures are already really tight as it is. From a footballing perspective, the best thing you can do at the moment is try to minimise a knockon effect for years to come, that will have a big knockon effect, particularly with next season. We're currently looking at a late start to next season as it is.

Ha ha, yeah sorry about that.

I don't care what other leagues do. It has no relevance to this one question.

In this hypothetical situation the league can award Liverpool the title or they can void it. Doesn't matter what happens elsewhere in any decision.

I would rather they give it to Liverpool. Because ironically that would end up being more painful to Liverpool fans than if they were denied it.

The question that comes up is, why would you care about Liverpool fans in the first place? Just because they are in the same league and there is a history with Chelsea there?

I think that what you're saying is this: Deny Liverpool the title and they go on about it as if they are martyrs of football...or give them the title and they would have a much harder time to justify it.

You could also come to a point where it wouldn't matter at all if they were given the title or not. For a Chelsea fan no matter what happens to Liverpool once the league is voided is all the same! They would in both cases feel entitled to something they got or didn't get! It would be pointless and they wouldn't have much ground to stand on either way...

Thinking about next season for a change, how would you see the Champions League and Europa being played out?

Honestly I can’t see it happening. How do you allow and control teams from all over Europe to fly in, play and then return home without risking infection? Even behind closed doors I can’t see it happening.

If Governments in Europe have in place restrictions on travel and only allow only essential travel across borders can't see the Champions and Europa Leagues to go ahead as those will hardly be seen as essential. Essential travel could be limited to the delivery of goods e,g. food and for key-workers e.g. those in the medical profession.

If during the London Marathon someone is two miles from the finish and way out in front of the rest of the field and there's a bomb scare then the race would be stopped and it would be voided because it hadn't finished. You couldn't just award the race to the guy in front even if he was clearly going to win same goes for Liverpool.

If the guy out in front was from Liverpool,  they would have to award the race to him, obviously.

So now they are looking at player shorter games...Its getting farcical. Just admit it aint gonna happen and bin the season, plan for next season which is going to be far more important than the next 8 or 9 games would be.

Also guess which club wants the Womens Premier League season nulled and voided, the team just happens to be bottom of the league currently...

20 minutes each way, roll on roll off  subs, 7 aside teams, and players parents  have to behave themselves and not abuse players or officials, each team to have a volunteer to run the line! All these have been mentioned in 'Project Restart'

Void the season, cancel Platinis ridiculous all over the place Euros too,  to give the next season a chance, although I can't see that starting for a long time

Putting to one side games being played watching them will be almost impossible if social distancing is adhered to. If SD is still being practiced for the rest of the calendar year and even beyond and football restarts (doubtful) then behind closed doors is here to stay for a good while. Tube and train travel with football fans will be a no no, queing to get in, exiting the stadium, walking down the road after a game coach travel etc it just can't be done safely. Stadiums will only be able to sell a certain amount of tickets so you take your seat, next seat is empty. But even then you'll be too close to the person in front of you in the next row and everyone presumably would have to wear a mask otherwise you'd have thousands of people spraying spittle everywhere.

I don't think SD at this level will remain for the duration, at this current level you can't even hug your freinds or relatives unless you live with them, can you imagine someone who lives alone with chronic lonelyness issues lasting a year or more?

Mass gatherings are likely off the menu until a vaccine or the virus mutates into a weaker form but this eerie level of acting like anyone outside your household is a zombie? No chance!

Put a ball and chain on everyone's ankle. Guaranteed to get you into Australia that is.

Reminds me of a story when Ian Botham flew into Australia for an ashes tour, a smart arse Ozzie customs officer snidley asked Botham if he had a criminal record, Botham's response was, I didn't realise you still needed one to get into Australia!!

And the one where Merv Hughes said to Botham as he was walking to the crease: 'How's your wife and my kids?' Botham answered 'Wife's fine. Kids are retarded.'

The bottom six clubs are all close to relegation, surely all six would take this season being cancelled and voided, they cant afford to gamble and slip out of the league, even Southampton and Newcastle would be gambling if they chose to carry on.

Coronavirus and sport: LMA chief warns clubs need to back neutral venues

The neutral stadium proposal needs 14 out of the 20 clubs to vote in favour for it to be adopted.

I'm guessing that the ballot will be in secret. Agree, it is very likely that the bottom six will ask for the season to be cancelled and it wouldn't be surprising if Newcastle and Southampton joined them. It will also be interesting to see what happens with the teams currently in the top four places will do.  If it's assumed that the CL and EL competitions take place next season those in the top four could also vote to cancel the season so that they are guaranteed to play in the Champions League next season.

Which ever way the vote goes I predict a division in the PL and between the PL and the EFL and goodness knows how many legal actions. Those actions could drag on for months and years with many going to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). CAS could be very busy over the next few months with actions brought by football and other sports.
