January 1, 20224 yr It’s abit depressing that the same issues are still here since Lampard’s era - the £300m worth of forwards are not consistent or contributing much in terms of goals/assists. Tuchel has fixed the defence but not the forwards. Lukaku is showing signs and Mount is hard worker but the rest? Very hit and miss. £300m worth. Shocking. Someone said to me that Chelsea’s forwards do not scare them. That’s a massive issue.
January 1, 20224 yr It’s a shame we’ve already boosted his contract, would love it if we could do that NOW, just to show the world he’s the number 1 and put Lukaku in his place.

It's not exactly uncommon to play wingers at wingback (some suit the position more than many fullbacks) and it's defiently not like Callum has never had very good games there, especially in the early stages of Tuchel's time here.

January 1, 20224 yr The biggest statement he can make right now is to send the U23's (and Bettenelli) out against Chesterfield, maybe even have Andy Myers managing the game. I'd feel bad for them as they'd have got a big tie only for it to turn into a glorified EFL trophy match but I don't see how we've got any other choice.

Why not rest players against Spurs in the League Cup? Prioritize players for the league.

My point is not if wingers can play wingback - it is rather than shoe-horning players lets look at a different formation which will have players playing natural positions and be more effective by extension.
January 2, 20224 yr Sounds like he made the call to drop Lukaku today, not the board. I hope they back him kver this.

How many times have we seen player power overrule any manage including our greatest ever twice? The only way this works is if we get results when he is out otherwise the clubs money men will have the say. It's sh*t as this always happens at Chelsea.

All to easy to sack the manager and blame him for it.
January 2, 20224 yr Absolute right call by Tuchel to drop Lukaku. No good manager would tolerate such nonsense. Why the f**k did that sh*t come here if he loved Inter so much. He believed the hype and expected to dominate without actually working hard. Now that reality has hit hard, he's trying to run away like he always has.
January 2, 20224 yr Great so hopefully we win a penalty since none of our other forwards score in this formation and TJ/BC are injured.

Sack as many managers as you want but until we keep playing slow sideways & tedious football nothing gonna change. The same pattern has taken hold again. Not a surprise our results have nosedived.

I'm saying if history has shown us anything it's the players come out on top even against a club legend.

I meant that sacking manager doesn't help because the way we play needs to change first. As for the point of player power, the players who got their way in the past were WINNERS. They were world class. But how long has Lukaku been here and what has he won. I think its highly unlikely that the club will listen to a tosser who has yet to prove his worth.

This isn’t a situation where players have the ear of the board like previous occasions, the board will be just as livid at Lukaku as the manager and fans on this occasion as he’s completely mugged the club off publicly after we spent £95m on him.

How do you know that? The board shelled out 100 million and will want a return from that. Him not playing isn't going to be an option for them. Our board is ruthless and relentless when this happens, no way does this end well for us in terms of Tuchel. Happy to be proved wrong but don't think I will be.

Of course we don’t know for sure, but can you see the board being on the side of someone publicly speaking out against the club and wanting to go somewhere else 5 months after investing in them? If it comes to it it’s not as if Rom will be going for free, we would still get most of the investment back (albeit with a loss). I definitely know where you’re coming from with what we’ve seen before, but this situation feels very different.

January 2, 20224 yr The introduction of Jorginho and CHO wasn't as impactful as it could be but overall he pushed the lads to a good enough performance with all the circus around the team right now
