It's like some of you expect 11 academy products to start every game. Look at the other teams in the top 6, how many of their academy players do they have in their 1st team squad? Probably fewer than us.

 

If the player is good enough and has the right mentality, they will get a chance. If they aren't, or they want everything handed to them too quickly, they won;t.

 

It seems every youth player apparently leaving triggers a standard comparison to Foden, that is starting to annoy me 

If Vale and Gilmour are not signing new deals best we sell them ASAP, buy backs would be nice, sell on percentage if not.

Should be able to get 8 to 10mill each.

Why would Vale at 19 not sign a deal, it’s mad. What’s the point in putting them through the youth system??

So sell the current England under 19s captain for 8m? How about no, maybe give the lad a chance in the squad.

The fact is our tour squad has failed players like Barkely, Batshuyi, Emerson, Kennedy in it, yet Tuchel chooses to send Billy Gilmour, Armando Broja, Harvey Vale, and Tino Anjorin home.  That tells us everything we need to know.

Tuchel has no plans for the future. It's here and now, ala Mourinho. 

Think we need to accept that. 

Pre season tours have always been a team bonding exercise and an opportunity for players to show their worth i.e trials hence we always take all sorts abroad before the squad is slimmed down etc

I dont expect TT to be in charge of the clubs future, Not his job!

Help with ins and outs and concentrate on winning games with the first team

Blame the execs for that stuff!

What exactly does it tell us? That those older players are on absurd wages for what they offer on the pitch hence create next to no interest of other clubs and are likely to stay in our squad for the time being?

Yep, young players aren't going to get an opportunity ahead of experienced players unfortunately, no matter how poor they play. It is what it is, we will continue seeing our ex academy lads ripping it up elsewhere.

When I read Boehly wants to utilise the academy, I read it as integrating youth players to the first team which would be a smart cost saving approach. 

Nope. Wants to breed and then sell them for a profit. Nothings changed.

I would bet you a lot that Tuchel will have integrated more youngsters than any other manager since 2003 by the time he leaves the club. He's already at two with Chalobah and Gallagher and he's elevated Mount and James immensely.

This "young players aren't getting a chance" is a ridicilous notion when it's quite literally the opposite of whats happening.

I would bet so too given our academy is night and day better than what it was in the 2000s.

We'll see I guess. But I am convinced he will play a huge part already this season.

Broja and Colwill would also have been key parts of the squad this season if they had a bit more patience in my opinion. Colwill may still stay even and I hope he does.

But I bet you some, would still complain if Gallagher and Colwill both became important players for us. Then there would be complaints about Vale, Bell or whoever. Some are never happy.

I'd throw in Ampadu as well if he continues to perform well in preseason.

Fair enough. Colwill may push himself out before he's proved anything in my opinion but Gallagher will be a huge player for us and Tuchel should be given credit if he integrates him as well in my opinion.

I doubt it. It will either be ignored or they'll be some reverse excuse about how it wouldn't have happened if Kimpembe was signed or Kante was still in his prime.

Would be like that nonsense that Sarri was playing Callum under duress.
