Even if people like Trev not many will say he's better or will end up being better than Colwill. Should not be a case of one or the other. With the 5 sub rule TT should be able to offer both enough game time even if he adds Ake and Kimpembe is well.

Given you have five subs to use they should be in your plans.

Koulibaly will probably play there just for 1 season. Borja is a st and we are a team who is setup to play without one.

Given you have five subs to use they should be in your plans. Gallagher and Broja have both had successful loans in the Premier League. Gallagher especially. They are definitely both ready to show what they can do in our first team squad. I'd be happy for Colwill to have a chance too but I doubt he would get as many minutes in our first team this season, unless we fail to bring in many defensive replacements. I think a season long loan at a Premier League team would be worth considering. Thiago may only have another season or so, and then Colwill would be able to get a lot more opportunities, with some Premier league experience behind him. That is of course assuming we bring in Koulibaly, Ake and possibly Kimpembe.

Ake deal whilst selling colwill would just sum us up perfectly Maybe he and Broja don't want to be loaned out anymore and have requested that if they don't get chances in the Chelsea first squad, that they can leave on a permanent base?

How does Nkunku get in the side ahead of players like that ? The fact that he's only had his "break out" season a full 3 years after leaving PSG suggests it was a fair decision to sell him, don't you think ? A bit of patience and long term thinking goes a long way though. It wasn’t only Nkunku he sold, the got rid of Moussa Diaby, Rabiot, Guedes, Edouard etc, and bought Herrera, Icardi, Gueye, Paredes amongst others in search of the holy grail, a CL trophy. 3yrs down the line they are trying to get rid of 7 of these squad players on fat wages but have no offers because of their ridiculous wages. The reality is in a squad of 25 players you can afford to accommodate 4-5 youth players but it’s down to the manager. Over a season, a manager will have 14 key 1st team players he will use regularly in his match day 18. Klopp has managed to integrate Harvey Elliott, Curtis Jones & Tyler Morton, 19-21 yr olds, giving them ample game time, not block their route to establishing themselves, and their is a clear path and progression. He has also chosen to take a long term view by buying Nunez, Carvalho, Konate and Calvin Ramsey 18-23yr olds young players with loads of room for development who he plans to play when he could have opted for the east route of signing players at their peak. Pep also to a lesser extent has been instrumental in the development of Foden, Cole Palmer seems to his next pet project. Throughout last season he had at least 2 youth players in his match day squad in addition to Foden starting irrespective of whether he was playing Burnley or Leeds. Saka, Martinelli & Rowe would have ended up in the loan cycle if they had come through our system.

PSG famously had a sporting director named Leonardo during Tuchel's time there. They didn't see eye to eye and in the end their feud was why Tuchel left the club. But it's an undisputed fact that it was Leonardo that made the decisions at PSG during that time. So Tuchel should be blamed for any of that at all.
July 14, 20224 yr According to TT on SS, Sterling was his priority No1 signing, and another forward isn't a necessity, so hopefully Broja shows he's worth a punt, by what i saw last year, he aint got much to do to improve on Lumpkakus showing, Conor is going to be the legs eventually in midfield, and Kova is the equal of De jong, Defence will sort itself out, just hope we get a prolific Striker, to put the heat on Havertz n Werner....
July 14, 20224 yr https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/62160314 I really like TT, and I hope the mad German creates his legacy. Imho, you lot are way too harsh, we don't see what he sees, or know what he knows. Have faith in the guy...he earned alot of respect for the way he conducted himself during sanctions and how he stopped the club falling apart. The least he deserves is the support of the fans for a few seasons to set his mark. Pep and klopp were ridiculed in the beginning, took them a few years. Time for us to back our manager...I will.
July 14, 20224 yr Levi Colwill is pushing to leave #Chelsea. He doesn't believe he will get game-time under Thomas Tuchel following the defensive signings. Fulham, Leicester City and Southampton all interested. [via @alex_crook] This is the problem with giving managers the power. It is a nice change to see the manager having the power but this is why clubs get annoyed. Scolari wanted to get rid of Drogba..thank goodness he didn’t. It’s a real fine balance..
July 14, 20224 yr Let's wait and see what happens, shall we? Everyone is quick to agree that these tweets from journalists about transfer rumours are often a load of bollocks and they know nothing, but a tweet or 2 saying a youngster wants to leave and you all believe it instantly.

This. We don't know anything until it has been confirmed by the club.
July 14, 20224 yr If we sell Colwill I am convinced it will be with a buy-back clause or at the very least a first-refusal. With a buy-back clause I would be perfectly fine with him leaving to gain experience.

Foden aside (and even that took took a good couple of years before he was trusted in any game of note) Pep has been very very cautious with youth players, playing a done Fernandinho at CB instead of giving one of the academy boys a shot and infact have lost their own Colwill/2019 James level talent (Gavin Bazanu) to Southampton on a permanent deal this summer. With Arsenal it's all about PR, it's no coincidence this "youth project" started when fans were starting to turn on Arteta. A year before that he was signing Willian, extending Luiz and telling the former he will win the UCL in three season's.

This would be the best solution for us, in fairness though Colwill might not want to go on a possible cycle of loans. Preferring to forge his career on his own terms. I do like the idea of forcing all clubs to have an under 21 academy player in the squad with possibly forcing their inclusion in the 5 subs to aid development. I do have a question for those promoting his inclusion in the squad. How many full games have you watched him playing for Huddersfield? I’ve watched two. Or are you relying on notoriously inaccurate YouTube clips and a name that has become a legend in his short lifetime? Following on from there if he was a Town player would you have been happy if he was our new CB ?
July 14, 20224 yr It's entirely dependent on what Tuchel wants to do in the future. Back 5 permanently or back 4 permanently. Or a combination of both depending on the opposition.

I personally believe that plus fan opinion (of Huddersfield fans) is more than enough sample size. It's about the same amount I watched of Reece when I clocked how good he was going to be. I'm the last person to preach youth inclusion at all costs but we have invested heavily in the academy so the elite prospects should be making it into the team.

Not to mention the same tweet mentions Levi's unhappiness about our defensive signings, that's signings as in more than one. It may end up we do sign more than one, but given it said "following the defensive signings", I was unaware we officially had signed even one defender let alone more than one.

Its ironic I live within half and hour of Huddersfield's ground( it was my Dads team) but never really an inkling to go and watch and the couple of times I did, ne never really shone. Hey but that's youth... inconsistent. Hopefully if he is willing to accept a more limited role, my gut feeling though is he will be moved on( fingers crossed a loan to somewhere like Southampton, though I can see the accounting merits of a sale) otherwise why would we bring in two left sided centre backs.
July 15, 20224 yr I honestly don't see what's so amazing about Colwill that he needs to be a guaranteed part of the team. Reece, Mount, Tomori went through a couple of loans and shone throughout their time in WBA, Vitesse and Derby. They even were made captain or deemed as the best player there. Is he of the same standard as they were?
July 15, 20224 yr As annoyed as I'll be if Colwill leaves on a perm the Gallagher news means we're at absolute worst looking at Tuchel's second big youth promotion in 18 months. Not quite the youth hating maniac he's been portrayed as.
