June 17, 20224 yr With no message ot support from the new owners, despite Todd speaking publicly a few times, I do wonder if TT will be to them as Claudio was to Roman. The current placeholder but not the manager they chose.

I think the difference here is we needed to make that switch from Ranieri to Jose in order to be take that next step and compete regularly for trophies. With TT in charge we already have someone who can get us competing and challenging for (and hopefully winning) trophies. Any step to replace TT would be a significant step backwards and I hope that the new board are smart enough to recognise that.

Just a wonder Gents, often new owners of companies want their own people in place.

Fergie and Wenger were not moved on when those clubs had new ownership. It happens when someone comes in to a flailing club and invests. Newcastle, Chelsea 2005, city etc. In those instances, the manager isn't at the right level and needs replacing. When a club already has a top tier manager there isn't much evidence of that happening.

June 20, 20224 yr Chilwell - ??? - Kai - Mount - James This is kinda how we attack, we barely get any offensive output from our midfield except maybe from kova so I just ignore them. If we can sign one player, I wonder who is the "worst" attacker that we can sign to make this team get to high 90s so we can compete with city n pool.
June 22, 20224 yr I think we could and should think about 4 at back. James - Silva - Centerback - Chilwell Azpilicueta - Chalobah - Centerback - Emerson Gallagher - Kante - Mount RLC - Defensive Mid - Kovacic Ziyech - Havertz - Pulisic Attacking Mid - Werner - CHO Sell Jorginho as he carries good value, Bring back Gilmour, Broja and Ampadu for backup roles. Keep Sarr for backup. 4-3-3 would make sense for our midfileders and many of the attackers. We have a ton of 8's in our ranks plus Ziyech would be able to fill the role he wants. Same goes with CHO. We just should then go for CB's who are comfortable in a pair. Koulibaly for example.
June 22, 20224 yr Good to see TT being backed. With Lukaku gone it definitely puts the pressure on him though - it’s not like it is just Lukaku who underperformed last season. All our attackers bar Mount were hugely inconsistent.

Yeah it’s quite refreshing to see Tuchel being backed and given authority. For years, the manager has been sidelined.

Giving too much room for a person who potentially stays for 1,5 years. I remember when we gave that room for the manager we ended up losing more money. "It was the last managers set of players". We need sporting director who has a footballing philosophy.

We tried to loan him out.

I think fans are getting too fixated on his wages of £120k/w which gives a false impression he is overpaid. We signed him on a freebie, and instead of giving him a sign on fee + agent fees upfront, we decided to spread it out into a 5-year contract. In reality he is more on like £40k/w, with the agent + sign on fee making up about £80k/w. He is an highly rated CB with suitors in Serie A (Inter & AC Milan retain an interest), and West Ham are also interested. The only barrier to a move is our valuation of him. Anything around £25m and you will find teams lining up to buy him off us. He only just turned 23, but unless you are a Maldini regen fans have no patience.

Why does it have to be one extreme or the other. Patience is all well and good but there has to be a projected end product of some substance there, Sarr looks in over his head.
June 25, 20224 yr "Raphinha’s agent Deco: “We spoke about Chelsea too, but Raphinha was afraid he’d be used as a wing back at some points in the season, as he isn’t used to that system."

Raphina is also a far better player than either of those 3 could dream of being. All 3 have ended up at Wingback precisely because they're not good enough in their actual positions to get near the team. You'd hope that wouldn't be the case for Raphina Edited June 26, 20224 yr by HazardousChoice
