Chelsea v Everton (PL) Thur 16th Dec 2021 19:45 GMT

Let's hope this game doesn't get covid cancelled, this is the time play against them. West Ham and Leeds played their best game of the season against us, then fall apart in following games. It's the charm of being European Champion, everyone is out there to make a name against you. Let's hope the defence and midfield beef up, usually we score 2 or 3 goals we win comfortably, not in the last few weeks.

After seeing us scrape by with Leeds then seeing city smash them 7-0 it’s not instilling much confidence in our form. Need a turn around and quick

Everything in context. We played without 3 of our most important players in Kante, Kova, and Chilwell. When your midfield is made of Jorginho who can dictate the game but is limited in terms of speed and strength and RLC who get dispossessed easily and cannot read the game well you’ll struggle. It’s doesn’t help having Alonso who is slow as a snail

Well, things are looking way better than 10 days ago, right?

Strong performance needed tonight. Let's show Rafa how much we love him.

                          Mendy

                Azpi    Silva    Rudiger

     James    Jorgi    Barkley    Alonso

                    Mount      CHO

                          Werner

If one of them are Jorginho we are screwed.

Now why is it the women's team have named the 2 players that tested positive ahead of their game but the men's team have not named theirs?

Worst case scenario it is Mendy, James and Jorginho.

On another note the last game we played before the league was suspended last time? Everton at home...

Reading through the reports 2 of the 3 players who are now out due to covid WERE in the starting 11 TT was going to select, the other was not.

Given Silva is well published as being always at home when not at the club I would say he is the least likely to have got it.

Think a few of us may be changing our predictions once the line up is out.

Apparantly it's Chilwell, Hudson Odoi, Lukaku.

The latter two were supposed to start. But now this.

Yikes second bought for CHO if true. Someone predicted Lukaku would be one as well.

Given the chances of league suspension is increasing guess we go with:

Mendy

Chalobah

Silva

Rudiger

James

Jorginho

RLC

Alonso

Mount

Havertz

Pulisic

If the game is to be called off, it is best that the club makes an announcement sooner rather than later so those fans who have yet to leave home for the ground don't have a wasted journey and those already on their way can turn around before it's too late.

As mentioned, the last game before lockdown was against Everton. A strange atmosphere at that match with most people expecting it to be the last one they would attend in a while.

If the game is called off I'll just have to go down the pub for an orange juice or two.

Under the league rules so long as we have 13 outfield players plus a goalkeeper to select it should not be postponed. So far we have 4 put with Kova, and according to reports the other first team players returned negative tests. Second test results waiting so if it goes, it goes right before kick off.

I understand the rules about the players and hopefully the number of positive tests is minimal but it will be annoying if the game is called off at short notice.

That's true but it might just be that Leeds were tired after playing against us.

Yea there wasn’t much of a rest and they came at us with everything but 7-0...I dunno.

Once Trevor and kante/kova are back we are good we can compensate for Alonso, but to have no CM’s no third CB that’s keeping the pace with Tony and silva then add in Alonso it’s too much of an ask.

I can’t stress how much of an important role TC was playing at RCB, it’s clear to see why tuchel was starting him.

If we can weather the next couple of weeks and keep within city and Liverpool we will get a second wind and go on I feel.
