I haven't seen a single game from him after he went to Lyon, but he's (or at least was) that kind of player that can drive you mad with some decisions similar to Ziyech, especially if played as a CM (Milan tried to deploy him there to no avail and he eventually lost confidence and trust of Gattuso at the time).

In the 2nd vid you can see many instances of him ball hogging in the middle of the field or kinda backtracking while dribbling. He's a good player though, just don't know if it's worth to enter a bidding war against PSG who are rumoured to be after him.

I don't know anything about this player but we are sorely missing someone in midfield that can rotate Jorginho and/or play alongside him. I believe that we are missing two midfielders a solid DM in the mould of a Casemiro and someone to play alongside with creativity.

I am still not convinced that it was ever actually a thing. Just Barcelona smoke to fck us about.

I'm of the opinion now it doesn't matter who we sign until there is a change of system...

It doesn’t have to be De Jong though; the ideal player was Guimaraes who is now at Newcastle. Find it shocking we never had a look at him, and weren’t interested when he moved. Bennacer at Milan is another solid option who wouldn’t have cost as much if we had moved earlier in the summer.

Really wouldve loved Paqueta here. Caqueret is quality too in a deeper role, similar to Kovacic though, but maybe a little more comfortable sitting in front of defence. Pretty crazy Lyon had Bruno, Paqueta and Caqueret.

Why do teams overlook Ward-Prowse...age? Injury prone? Saints want too much money? lacks goals? Always seems a decent player when I watch him...can hit a decent pass, free kick and a few slide rule passes

Decent player, but always strikes me as a Scott Parker level player, solid premier league player, but not quite good enough for the top teams or international football.

Is that not what can be said with a lot of players that play in average teams or lower leagues, when they don't have other players around them it makes them look like a Scott Parker.  TT clearly doesn't fancy any of our youngsters in the middle, Billy included although Gallagher might get a chance if TT has the patience.  We've just bought two youngsters and having watch the U23's v City the other day I don't they are going to learn a lot playing down there.

Why pay 50m for him when you can get Gordon for 60m?

I'd like Ruben Neves. Deep lying but has a good range of passing, close ball control and has a decent dig on him

Neves be a dream, couple of long passes he unleashed on the weekend were breath taking, and always a goal threat from distance. If we are happy to throw 70M+ plus ridiculous salary at DeJong, why do we skip Neves?
