Hope Everton go down and we can then snap up Pickford. Would be a good upgrade in goal for us imo.

trying not to dive in here....

I was just thinking about yesterday’s game and thinking about the how snake bit we were.  That shot, was it by Rudi, whatever, he kicks it right into Pickford’s small face. You could not replicate that in another hundred shots. But of course with charity FC’s luck, it happened to us, and Pickford makes this crazy, super lucky save that he had no business making.  And of course Mason hitting both posts for the umpteenth time.

There was a degree of fortune when Pickford made the save with his face, but Rudiger hit the ball straight at him. The best of Pickford's saves was probably when Azpi followed up on Mason's double post. That was a fine save considering that he was having to recover from trying to save Mason's effort. But that being said Azpi went for placement over power. Had he hit the ball a bit harder it was a goal all the way.

Pickford had a fine game in the end but he really had nothing to do until about almost an hour in when we were already a goal down. We offered pretty well nothing as an attacking team in the first half. Had we gone at them from the start the way we did against Saints we may well have silenced their rowdy crowd.

Motivation for Everton players is pretty evident. For us and MU there was/is nothing. The next game we are up for is the FA Cup final.

You sure about that?

We have the German international teams forward line, some of the brightest young English talent behind them and we still suck...

Why do our players always look like they know what they are doing when playing for their countries but look clueless and hopeless when they are wearing the Chelsea shirt?

Both Havertz and Werner for example look top players (and score goals!) when playing for Germany. Even Lukaku looks like he hasn't just eaten a bucketful of Big Macs when performing for Belgium.

I just don't get it. Makes you wonder if it is down to coaching/tactics when playing for us.

International games are much slower in pace, hence why these players perform better. Move all those players you mentioned to Serie A and they will bang 20 goals a season.

No I didn’t forget anything. He had some good performances in the run to winning the CL. Even still, he was clearly, at most, our 5th best defender and I would argue he was 6th.

This year, bar Christensen, he’s our worst. I’m not counting Sarr because he’s not important to the team enough to count.

This is why I don't really want us winning the FA Cup. Papering over the damn cracks. Overhyping these players.

Enough with the CL stuff. Let's be real - none of us last season expected us to win the thing because on paper the squad ain't good enough to win it.

Look at the performances outside the CL last season. Poor. Average. Including from Azpi.

If you don't want us to win the FA Cup, against Liverpool of all teams, you really shouldn't consider yourself a Chelsea supporter.

That comment should at minimum be a warning. We are a cup team and stopping the scousers getting the bloody quadruple is a must for any Chelsea fan.  May 2022 could turn out a very dark month for all of us.

Hahaha! Gold.

A month ago someone said I’m a Chelsea glory hunter. Now I’m not a Chelsea supporter. Made your fecking minds up people. I mean, if anything I can say you (and the others that liked your post) don't care about the future of our club.

I look at the bigger picture, instead of the short term that YOU are looking at.

Winning that FA Cup is going to paper over the fecking cracks and not expose the sh*te that we have.

I’m sick and tired of the same old story. We win something, and everyone including the board thinks our squad is fine. Roll on next season with them.

When is the last time we won something and then the following window we bought a number of players to improve our squad? Anyone? It’s going to happen again if we win this cup.

I don’t care about beating Liverpool if it’s not going to expose the crap that we have.

We are not going to beat Liverpool anyway so whatever.

Were you saying that when chelsea were top of the league till December?

im not saying the squad doesn’t need looking at. Just think there’s a bit of balance required here.

Yes I do call myself a Chelsea supporter. But I like I said to you, I look at the bigger picture while you look at the short term and short term stuff is degrading our club.

Yes I was saying that when Chelsea were on top at the beginning of December. I wish I was here instead of the other forum to prove it.

What I saw up to December wasn't sustainable. Our defenders were scoring the goals for us, while the attackers weren't. Once Chilwell and James got injured we collapsed like dominoes and the goals dried up.

We cannot rely on Chilwell and James to score goals for us. We cannot have another season of Arsenal (and other clubs) running wild against players like Alonso and Jorginho.

They need to be exposed fully so everyone knows these players need replacing. I don't want another season with these crop of players. And winning the FA Cup increases the chances of them staying.

Good lessons in supporting a football club there Mana. Go to a final at Wembley and hope to lose.

There's a huge difference between hoping to lose and not caring FFS.

I don't WISH for my football club to lose. But at the same time, I don't care if we win it to stop Liverpool from winning the quad. That shouldn't be our main target or our goal. We are not a fecking small club.

But people like you are the problem though. Instead of seeing where I'm coming from, you and others are just pointlessly having a go at me saying I'm not a Chelsea fan blahblahblah because Liverpool are after the quad and you wanna stop them.

This way of thinking is SO narrow-minded. Even if we beat Liverpool, they can still do the treble. We can't stop them from getting that.

And on top of that, fans and the board will use the FA Cup win to say, "WE BEAT POOL! THESE PLAYERS CAN BEAT POOL IF THEY PUT THEIR MIND TO IT!!" Bigging up Alonso. Bigging up Jorginho. Bigging up Werner. Bigging up Pulisic. Bigging up all these players. And it's same old cycle starting again.

Next season TT will be the sacrificial lamb when these players stay. Because we will fall even further behind from the pack. We have seen this before, so don't say it won't happen. Especially if Todd comes and thinks we are good enough because we beat Pool in the final.

And guess what? Liverpool will go again to win the quad next season. We will not be good enough to stop them.

I want these players fully exposed. Fully naked, so we can get new and better players. Even if it's from the academy. Win the cup and these players got some clothes on.

So please. Look at the long term of things.

The problem with that argument is that you seem to be assuming it's just a simple case of us losing the final and then suddenly everyone finally seeing that our players aren't all that, or even plain sh*t like you say. This just WON'T happen, unless you're playing FIFA or Football Manager.

It didn't happen when we got trounced by Bournemouth, City 6-0, when we were near relegation zone a few years ago, etc. Why do you suddenly think it will now? Unless the new board truly wants to erase Roman's era and start anew, which we don't have ways of knowing so far.

Finally, we want to win the cup 100% because that's we aim to do as a football club and as supporters. Ruining Liverpool plans is just the cherry on the cake. And if we end up winning the damn thing, our squad is doing at least SOMETHING, minimal even, right, which you don't wanna acknowledge in any way whatsoever. Everyone here knows a rebuild is needed, be it new players, new mentality, whatever. You wanna build for the future? That's fine, but winning is not something guaranteed at all, you take what comes your way, and this time it's the F.A Cup for us.

The bigger picture here is stopping the w**kfest over that horrible dippers club.

And, of course it would be nice to go to Wembley and win the FA Cup!

No it's fecking not. This is why you guys have a small mentality. You are behaving like a Spuds fan now.

How about this. Liverpool fans are currently dreaming of winning the quadruple. WE should be dreaming of winning the quadruple! Why aren't we dreaming of winning it. Because our squad is fecking crap.

They have let us down year after year, downing-tools, giving up in the tough times bar that ONE CL run. And you are giving them a lifeline yet again. Don't be surprised if this squad lets you down against Pool in a few weeks time.

Look at what you're doing. Dreaming to stop Liverpool instead of dreaming of our own destiny. Showing your hatred for a rival over looking what's best for your own club. It's no different than Mourinho fans a few years back who would die for Mourinho over his well-deserved sacking.

Who says I'm not dreaming with winning the quadruple? I can be aware of the needs of our team and, at the same time I want to stop the dippers from winning anything other than the League Cup while winning a trophy at Wembley. if anything, it is you that don't want to win a trophy!
