They really see it as a pure profit-making machine and I honestly think they don't see it as a Football Club now!

I am beginning to have doubts as to how much money they will actually make in the end, they waste so much so badly.

No doubt, it is a very poorly run model with the intention of profit, imagine the state it's going to be when they're finished with it! 3 years and they f**k it up more as time goes on! Even down to sponsorship is a complete joke! Remember under Roman when we would wear new shirts with decent sponsorship deals at the last game of the season? We can't even get a sponsor that we don't own going into September!

Sterling had some poor games last season and many were on his case.... watch him now at Arsenal, and our club is paying him for it!

Blue Co doesn't hide that this is their plan. I have no problem with it, they are an investment company and we are being run as one.

The funny part is when people start justifying their strategy in term of improving us as a football club.

Of course they don’t, they claim we are customers! Other clubs which may be seen as investments aren’t run to the ground like this! The clubs identity and soul have been ripped apart in no time! It’s become more politics and nonsense than what is happening on the pitch, that itself, starts to feel secondary!

I couldn't care less that he has joined Arsenal. Like Lukaku he never suited or felt like he belonged at the club, thinking he's a "bigger" player than he is. One of our early mistakes under the Boehly bandwagon.

The guy will get a few goals for them no doubt, but he's also a frustrating & selfish player. I mean look, even in his Arsenal introduction video he mentions "people like to talk, well so do I blah blah, the best it yet to come blah blah.

Chinny reckon fella 😆

all this bull about how we treated players.  if a player doesnt fit into managers plans then surely its better to tell said players before transfer window closes . now in the case of sterling hes only out for himself in all things.   he asked for clarification just before match .well he got it. now hes gone to arsenal on loan . GOOD . you guys need to stop listening to media stories , chelsea is great for the media outlets with their chelsea hate. i think maresca will do a great job , i hope im right . but this continued slagging off of chelsea owners give it a rest. RA has gone , forever , move on . on chalobah  he was ok , but not brilliant  , he had moments .could have stayed or gone. i know our defence is poor . i always said badashiel wasnt premier league quality from day one, disasi again , what was seen in him ,that scouts said look at him. how many of you last year said who is palmer , chelsea just picked him outta hat !! let the games begin , lets see what happens......enjoy rest of season ktbffh

If that happens, the board are definitely clowns and not Chelsea worth… if only Roman had made a clause to stop this finance-our-rivals nonsense.

I've read Roman put a lot of clauses into the deal to help the club but I really doubt he would have seen something as stupid as this coming along. We are paying arsenal to win the league, or at least helping them do so!

This mob are truly fking hopeless. Having waded in dick swinging and paid massively over the top wages for Sterling, they then followed that up by buying every bloody kid they have found in a Championship manager search, so much so they backed themselves into psr corner and are now going to pay for Arsenal to cement their Champions league assault and take Sterling of our hands.

But this is all part of an American sports model masterplan that none of us can understand because we're all so backward here, and not the mindless lurching from crisis to crisis by bunch of c**ts intent on making us the laughing stock of the country whilst slowly destroying everything that we are.

Genuinely despise this mob.

I would love to see this masterplan of theirs that we are all too thick to understand.

Apparently no loan fee and we are paying 50% of his wages.

Imagine the goons being able to say thank you for paying Sterling to help us win the league....

Good riddens to him mate...I couldn't care less that hes gone. BUT we are paying him. We are paying/helping our rivals to win and that's what's eating at me!

If Sterling has a good season, Arsenal will likely to win the league or a major trophy. There's also no guarantee Arsenal will buy him either.  If he's sh1t, he will come back with his values down even further. Basically it's a lose-lose situation for Chelsea. The positive is we saved some money on his salary, which will go into the budget of the bomb squad.

What have Arsenal won lately though? He's on loan so of course we'll be paying some of his wages.

If he does well they can buy him, if not I imagine a Saudi move would be good for him.

They've won nothing and long may it continue...but if they do win and that's a big if then we helped them financially. That doesn't annoy you?

They'll get top 4 this year easy with or without sterling if they continue like last season. But knowing we are paying 50% of his wages to help a rival just pisses me off. And arsenal too! Only ones worse would be if we were paying the spuds!

Fingers crossed that whoever plays instead of Sterling can put up better numbers than the club attributed to him for 23/24 (10 goals + 18 assists), because this won't age well if no-one out of Neto/Felix/Sancho/Mudryk(LOL)  steps up to the plate.

The cost argument for getting rid of him is quite amusing too seeing as we have effectively replaced him with THREE players, whose wages no doubt add up to a lot more than his.

All the usual lazy "media" tropes about Sterling being selfish and full of ego being trotted out again here I see.

This is what Kevin De Bruyne said

"Before I came to Manchester City, I didn't really know what to make of this Raheem Sterling guy. I had never met him, and from what I'd read about him in the English press, I thought he was going to be a very different character. I thought ... well ... I didn't think he'd be a bad guy, really.

"But the tabloids were always claiming that he was arrogant. So I guess I thought he'd be ... what do the English call it? A bit of a d***head, maybe? Then I got to City and I actually met Raheem, and we'd talk a bit after training, and I thought, 'wait, this guy seems really cool? What's the story here?'

"Truthfully, I don't have many close friends - inside or outside of football. It takes me a really long time to open up to people. But over time, I got closer to Raheem, because our sons were born around the same time, so they would always play together. I really got to know Raheem, and I recognised what a smart and genuine person he is. He couldn't be more different from what the tabloids were saying. This is the real truth: Raheem is one of the nicest, most humble guys I've met in football."

This tallies quite well with what Palmer and Madueke have said about him being a hugely positive role model in the dressing room as "Uncle Raheem". One of those intangibles in good squad building that the likes of BlueCo and their lacky SDs wouldn't have been able to put a dollar figure on ... and which is invisible to fans who have already decided they don't like him,

I think he'll do well at Arsenal. Great move for him, and his ambitions to get back in the fold with England.

The only losers in the deal appear to be us.

Sadly they are not a direct rival any more. West Ham are our direct rivals now. We have a mid table mentality and are run by complete fools. Sullivan and Gold in their pomp would have done a better job here.

No loan fee included? This is poor, poor business from us. We have effectively said to a rival, take our attacker for free and we will also pay the same wages as you so you can take him for a season. Utter shambles business. He is better than Mudryk, but to shift him on loan to a rival team without a loan fee and agree to pay the same wages as the team we loaned him to is a shambles. It is a total, total win for Arsenal. Ridiculous. Have we not seen the contributions of the last player we sent to Arsenal. They are City's biggest title threat and now we are giving them extra depth to help them. 🤦🏾‍♂️

Be it QPR ( maybe not so much ) Liverpool and City it’s abundantly clear he is a marmite player and  character but if you speak to fans that attend Liverpool, that attend City as opposed to the majority of posters on forums they will tell you , having watched him game after game, that they were delighted to see the back of him.

BlueCo clearly have a hand in him going but I will put a narrative that is as likely in that Poch clearly didn’t rate him Southgate no longer rated him  , the new manager doesn’t rate him , the SDs don’t rate him and had he taken a squad place it would choke development of players that were already at the  club and or were targets to bring in .

if anyone truly believes he has been a good signing then sorry we are going to have to agree to disagree of course he like Lukaku in the day will cost us a bit while out on loan  but I have to say that save Mydryk all the wide options show more promise going forward  . In deed we saw George the other day and I suspect we might well see in more games however  had Sterling remained in the squad  almost certainly he, Sterling would be playing in games such as Servette and likely  and George would be nowhere to be seen

Back to cost I suspect the accounts for 23/24 will see a charge for impairment meaning they had already decided players had lost worth and I would imagine Sterlings residual value would already been reduced. It’s difficult to establish what % of his wage Arsenal are paying I have heard 50% also I have seen that we will be paying 25% and the player has agreed to a reduction of 25% add to the fact that his wage although stated to have been £300+ k a week a chunk of that will be individual bonuses such as loyalty, appearances, goals  meaning the fact he has gone on loan cannot be paid add to that the employers nic that would now be payable and the cost savings will be between £5&£10 million

I am delighted he has gone he is a player that beyond doubt is in decline and as for consistency that’s a thing of the past as is his England career

Some fans are unhappy that we help arse but from the board pov, it doesn't matter. This is 100k p/w saving.

We are not competing with arse for top 4 and Arse winning the league or cl is not important.

I don’t know if you have ever worked in a financial area of a business but sometimes you have to look to mitigate  a loss and that often means that whilst you can’t recover all costs if you can reduce your losses that is the approach you have to take in the short terms. In this instance let’s just wait and see how this plays out .

In fact they Arsenal will be paying a loan fee simply because Sterling will remain on Chelsea’s payroll with Arsenal getting an invoice each/ month / week or whatever period has been agreed. How that invoice is made up will be agreed

As for players that we moved on to Arsenal let’s not just look at the likes of Havertz who w3 got top dollar for or Jorginho who isn’t a starter for them let’s also talk about Cech&  Willian who we equally mourned and we’re unmitigated disasters for them

Your quite right it’s a 100k saving and we aren’t competing for top 4 alongside Arse, Bob. The more pertinent question though is why have we had to make that saving, having spent over 1.5 Billion and still not expected to compete.

Bob doesn’t say we aren’t competing for top 4  what he I believe is saying is that  they, Arsenal  will almost certainly be getting top 4 . It’s a subtle difference but at this time it seems that City and Arsenal givens to finish above us
