He was, he carried a god awful attack for two years. Shame £140m Felix can't do the same.

Why do you keep on quoting  "£140m"  ?

Where does that figure even come from ?

Any talk about a permanent fee for him that I've read is more like £80m ?

Atletico have said they want what they paid for him if he's to leave.

£80m is still too much for what he brings to the table.

Sure he did.

Realistically though, barring possibly Mbappe, is there any player in world football that could have come into this dysfunctional Chelsea team and carried us to wins in the past 5 games?

Lingard came into a West Ham team that was worse than us and carried them.

In that case you've probably got your currencies muddled up, as they didn't pay 140m pounds for him ...

More like £111m. I think the 140 might be in US dollars.

From Sky:

Felix joined Atletico from Benfica in a €126m (£111m) deal from Benfica in 2019.

Until Potter coached him away from his natural instincts he was great. Same goes for Mudryk and Enzo for that sake.

You must really rate Potters coaching skills.

I mean, if you genuinely believe that potter has "coached him away from his natural instincts" , undoing 15+ years of experience and coaching, then Potter must be a genius coach. Getting a player to play differently in such a small space of time - well, that is another level.

I like watching him,‘always tried to get forward. Don’t forget, he also scored 100% of our goals in February!

Chelsea Goal of the Month for February is a very short video for sure LOL

Bloke is indeed a  coaching genius - he's done it with the whole squad apart from Thiago Silva LOL. I expect Mrs Silva put her foot down 🙂

I think we would be daft NOT to sign him, he's obviously a class footballer playing in a tactically clueless team. He's played 5 games where the frontline has changed every single time and had no chance to develop a partnership with anybody. Absolutely baffling you lot.

Agreed - he has stood out as the most natural player in a team that is struggling to get going and simply not firing as an attacking unit. Could play a brilliant role when (if!) things start to click.

Do you genuinely believe that?

Serious question question. Because whilst I know you don't rate potter, it is baffling to me of anyone genuinely believes that a squad full of professionals could have been coached out of being good within such a space of time.

Potter has been underwhelming bordering on a disaster. But there is no way that he has done as alleged.

It was intended as a joke 🙂

Hard to argue that he has had a positive impact on many players in the squad though ... Badiashile perhaps ? Kepa ? But that would probably be it. I do think it is probable that many of the young players signed are actually worth far less than the fees Boehly has paid, so perhaps some of the expectations of their ability are wrong in the first place. True also that others signed under Abramovich have shown under many managers that they clearly aren't the answer ...

Anything over £60m is too much.

But he went into a team that was already tactically well set up with players who all knew each other. Are you actually saying that if Lingard came into this current chelsea team he would be carrying us to wins?

West Ham were and are sh*t and he took the league by storm.

My point is if he can do it Felix doesn't have an excuse at the biggest club in London.

So the inference from that is you want him, you're just concerned about not overpaying LOL

If we can get him cheap yes, plenty of more important positions to spend the money on first. Got plenty of players that can play in the 10 or drift wide.

We'll have to agree to disagree.

I suppose with Jorginho gone you've had to find someone else to be a scapegoat

A good player, definitely  not elite yet. He's fitting in the type of profile Boehly likes to sign, but 80M is a lot for what he has shown so far. Maybe a different manager would improve him, but that's another rabbit hole with no way out right now.

Felix is too expensive for what he bring into the team. He is not strong , not a cool Finisher or fast enought to play that position. And if we sacrifice the tactic just to suit him we won’t score eather , look at us now…
the creativity should come from your wingers , wingback and Enzo. Nkunku can play the Felix role up top for link up or behind a striker. Use that 100 mil to buy top midfielder( backup for Kante)

they will have to sell him in 2 years time to get rid of his wage.

I enjoy watching Joao Felix play football.

I enjoy watching tricks too but It have to be good  for the team. I follow him many years now with Portugal. He don’t have the finishing skills. After a while he will become Timo Werner.

He is now like the new Hazard a lot of dribbling and holding the ️ to long and break down the attack.Old Hazard will do something with his action or score.
