Agree completely, Atletico apparenlty want 100m+ for him, can't see us dropping that in two consecutive windows.

Mostly down to whether FFP allows it or not. But, if Simeone stays at Atleti, the player will definitely not want to go back and he could try to force the price down. If Simeone goes, it is another story and we may not be able to bring the price down, depending on who their new coach is.

It is a shame but I feel him and Nkunku in the same side would be a struggle to fit system wise.

Not ideal, but let's be honest if Joao Felix continues to impress, and the fans are all cheering for him when Boehly is at the game, then we will do what we need to make it permanent.

You mean Nkunku playing as a “9”? We already have Sterling & Madueke on the right.
Still think Atletico hold all the cards. If they insist on getting back their €125m which wont be surprise seeing how much we spent in Jan, I reckon Boehly will walk away from the deal. We still need to spend big on a DM, & maybe a GK.

It would help if Joao himself were to want to stay.

Otherwise I believe that despite him being a great attacker, with Nkunku coming we could spend the money for someone like Osimhen, a real number 9 that would IMHO thrive in the PL even more than in Serie A. So if I were to choose 80-100m for J.Felix or a real striker, with Nkunku coming I would splash the cash on the number 9 instead of J.Felix even if it looks more risky since J.Felix looks good for us.

I think it is strange that we didn't announce Nkunku in similar vein to Gusto ... buy him, loan him straight back, and he arrives at Cobham in June. Why the wait ?

We have zero chance of Felix next season, he will be back in Spain, he will want CL football.

Pretty sure the Nkunku deal is done, we just have to wait until summer to announce it. RB CEO already confirmed it in a presser.

I think if Felix gels with the squad, and he and his OH like London as a place to live, then why not ? I am sure Boehly, Eghbali and Potter have already sold him on "the project" even to get him to come on Loan ?

Secondly, we managed to snag Nkunku, Enzo, Mudryk, Mudueke, Santos, and agreed personal terms with Gvardiol all without having CL football confirmed. We clearly still have a lot of pull and the players we are bringing in can convince other players of what we are building. 

As good as he is (and what we've seen so far, a moment of madness aside, has been brilliant), what we need in attack the most is a true striker. We are incredibly well stocked on inverted wingers and nr tens, IF Nkunku somewhow doesn't come then by all means go for it, but we can't spend what would likely be most of our budget on Felix - even if he is the best attacking player we have atm. Of course, if we all of the sudden got crazy offers on Sterling/Havertz/Lukaku we might plunge, somehow I doubt it

Always thought Felix as a ST with Nkunku at CAM could be an option. 

Market it slim, and I mean slim when it comes to good strikers.

The last 16 in the CL would of been a factor in their choice. Of course we can still attract decent players, but without CL football we will be off the radar for a lot of players.

Injuries played a major factor, along with new players settling in. 

No excuses for Potter now to not see results and an improvement in performances. Newcastle and Spurs are now running empty.

Convincing victory against Dortmund may be that spark. 

When context is considered, we need to be aiming for a Top 4 finish. Newcastle and Spurs both looking to slow down this second half of the season, and Liverpool will be Liverpool. We have all of our players almost back and on top of that, new signings.

Some momentum from the Dortmund game, and then we absolutely have to do our utmost to smash Southampton next weekend.

A real statement like 6 or 7-nil ... from 25+ shots on goal ... something like that ...

Either way, he has to play his heart out for the short time he is here if he wants a big team to come knocking for that price tag. So far so good from him.

I think the ones that are truly out of bounds to us would reject us regardless (ala Haaland even after we won it).

Out of all the transfers we've made in the past decade and a bit I feel only Hazard was truly UCL dependant (admittedly the biggest one but still).
