Joao Felix

Would love him to stay even after that 55 minute cameo. Big issue for me is the transfer fee though, he's got a contract until 2027 and was signed for 140m. i imagine it will take 100m to get him and we already have Nkunku coming in for 55m. Plus the need for a CM or two. I'm enjoying the spending under Todd but i don't know if this one would be one step too far.

Nkunku

Mudryk   Felix   Madueke

Looks a pretty mean front 4 though.

I can't see us ever playing that front 4 personally. It's very gungo ho!

I assume it's 3 of them + Gallagher/Mount/Hall + 2 of Kova/Caicedo/Rice/Enzo/Kante/RLC (I'm making up names we've signed there)

Or drop the Mount/Gallagher and play 3CBs.

That front 4 feels like the team we would play chasing a game.

Felix has been in an Atletico system that is built on defensive contribution and Mudryk and Maduake are both praised for their work ethic so think the front 4 is very possible.

Realistically though Felix isn't made permanent and Mount takes up his role in the line up.

I think people are sleeping on Sterling a bit. If all goes to plan with the new guys his level will improve ten fold aswell.

Yeah seems so strange almost every XI I see from Chelsea fans (primarily on Twitter and we know that's not the best place to generalise from) have Nkunku, Felix, Mudyrk and Maduake as our ideal front 4 when everyone is fit and I'm like what has Maduake done that's got him so ahead of Sterling in these people's minds?

Genuine question, I personally think it's because there were random rumours about him being sold and the reactionary fans who believe everything that's printed just assumed he's off. Either that or they believe Maduake (who I'm sure will be great for us) will immediately be an upgrade on one of the best wingers in the epl and arguably world football (based on some of his displays for England).

And there's also his experience to factor in aswell.

Given the young players policy we seem to be going down to have someone in the squad with 4 PL titles (2 of which came in races where they could barely afford any error) is priceless.

Been reported that we do, in fact, have a clause in the loan to buy him in the summer.

All the signs pointed to such. Simeone staying on. Atletico bringing in Depay and publicly saying he's Felix's replacement.

Where you seeing this mate?

Based on that brief performance against Fulham, I would sign him if we had the option.

Apparently, that scummy corrupt club Barcelona have contacted At. Madrid asking about Joao Felix and hoping to get him in the summer. They hope they can make some kind of arrangement involving players going Atletico's way.

Hmmm, straight cash? Or Barca Hasbeens/rejects?

Tough.

They must be looking to activate lever #15 for this. Quite hilarious that Barca probably won't exist in a few years if they carry on like this. I'll be eating jelly and ice cream when they liquidate too.

Oh they will. The corrupt Spanish government will make sure of it.

It's more likely that we get punished by UEFA/FA for having a healthy economy and spending money that actually exists, than Barcelona disappearing for their dodgy monopoly levers' money. And it's really annoying to know that they'll never disappear.

Aren't the Spanish government very pro-Real Madrid rather Barca? Or was that the royals over there. Don't get La Liga, most over rated league for me.

Difficult to know these days, yet expect they still have powerful backers.

Barca were typically the club for Spanish socialists across all the country yet Catalonia's push for independence has complicated that support.

I am actually well happy that Felix didn't get hooked to Barcelona during this window. I think a number of our signings have been stellar in this window and I was buzzing of this guy for just one hour when we saw him at Fulham. i am looking forward to seeing him play for us for the rest of the season.

I've seen quite a few people including Félix as part of our long-term squad planning, but my understanding is that we don't have an option to buy at the end of the loan deal. My guess is that it's far more likely that'll he'll be used as a placeholder for Nkunku until the latter arrives in the summer.

I was re reading up on the Felix history and of course he is another ex Benfica player and went for over 100 m euros. He has had a number of injuries which restricted his performance including some hamstring troubles.

In a team with Mudryk and Stirling and Havertz and Enzo Felix can be a real star and the team really should perform at a very high level especially when supported by the wide play of james and chiller.

Maybe I'm just being optimistic but I really feel the team can start making a big push straight away. We might not have the defensive mid sorted out yet and havertz is not a natural no 9 but if mudryk, stirling, havertz and felix cant score some goals there is something wrong with the system. Stirling has averaged   a goal every second game in his career and even if he is dropping back a bit now there should still be plenty left in him over the next 18 months.

I would like Sterling to play down the centre with Felix and Mudryk either side of him.

Think that might bring dividends.

He should be back soon. Clearly the whole Mount+Gallagher means we're playing with 9 instead of 11 but with Felix in it's like we got 12 players out there.

So what’s the deal after the loan? Is there an option to buy if we want him?

No buy option. Atletico refused it believing Fleix would perform so well he that his price would increase more than a clause could be agreed upon by both sides.

However it is widely reported Felix has settled in really well and wants to stay, and atletico will sell to us if we want to keep him, so long as we agree on price of course.
