Ok he has come out an apologized. Clearly he is very upset by how he acted, has taken fully responsibility for the idiot he was being and has been suitabley humiliated by it. People make mistakes, live and learn. He owes his team mates an in person apology but should not be crucified for it.
July 16, 20242 yr He's at the top of insta trending...proper everywhere now. 2 camps throwing back and forth...ugh
July 16, 20242 yr Author At least he finally said something. Good on him for that. Now its up to him to mend the relationship with his teammates and the club to take appropriate action.

July 16, 20242 yr Despite the apology there will be an outright breach of Chelsea code of conduct and must be sanctioned. Yes apology as well but also suspension for a month or something and a fine.

It's the top trending news on social media and its in mainstream media too. What happens in the future really depends on if his team mates truly accept him back or not (after sanctions, fines, etc...) Edited July 17, 20242 yr by Simplymo

July 17, 20242 yr There is no way that dressing room will be harmonious this season because that this. No apology on instagram or in person will make this better, not only did he insult the French players but all then other black players including the captain. So there will be a definite split in the dressing room and he will probably feel isolated. That’s my feeling, maybe overtime that changes but for the next season I can see this being toxic. They can’t get rid of all the French players or get rid of Enzo.

That said in mitigation it was a team thing and virtually every young person does something they regret. Particularly some people just don’t have the education, haven’t been brought up right. I hope we can all find a way to live together.

July 17, 20242 yr When it all comes down to it, it will be the players who will have the ultimate say in his Chelsea future. It doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks. Be that the board or the media. If the players will have him back then he’ll be involved. If not then a very expensive 7 year loan to Barca awaits 😀 Feck knows what he was thinking. Idiot at best and downright arsehole at worst
July 17, 20242 yr 7 hours ago, axman2526 said: Is this his reaction to the club not allowing him to go to the Olympics, revenge if you will. Or maybe he just doesn't care, or this is part of being Argentinan and they are proud of it? No idea myself. What I can confidently say is Clearlake won't let an asset like him go to waste. Much easier to make money on selling Gusto, Nkunku and Badiashile. Maybe break even on Disasi and a loss on Fofana perhaps? So are you suggesting here that the club would effectively be endorsing his actions or are you saying this tongue in cheek?

July 17, 20242 yr Very expensive Loan to Barca is a real concern and possibility at this point. Chelsea have a major African fanbase; we are the team of some iconic African legends. Our recent hero, N’golo Kante, is a French player whose parents immigrated from Mali. We have more than a few of our players unfollowing Enzo; which is pretty serious. They are making a statement about how they feel about associating with him. I don’t know how he fixes this.

Fofana should have kept it out of instagram, let the club deal with it, the most extreme thing that could happen is Enzo doubling down on it and not apologising or speaking with the players, then fair enough. And even then, if the players can’t work it out after he tries to heal the wounds, move from there. Also demonstrates how poor the relationships are within the group prior to this, that the pitchforks come out via social media; we have no leaders. Nobody could truly say John Terry was actually racist when analysing his life and actions as a whole. Regardless though, a PR Disaster and a LOT of work. An absolute mess. No. Disagree. It is good that players are vocal on matters like this. It feels personal to him which it is and is racist. It is right that he is called out for it and made to feel the weight of his actions by his own teammates. If Fernandez is so openly posting it, then his teammates should also openly make him feel the weight of his actions. Edited July 17, 20242 yr by STATS
