I just prefer to watch the games from the sofa.

This may come as a surprise to you simple little mind but we are not the same person and not everybody experiences life in the same way. Now leave me alone, you’re ruining my fantastic bed experience by being an argumentative sh*tbag.

Well clearly not, much as you pretend otherwise you are a kitten not a person, so I know we experience very different lives.

Now go take your cat nap, you are getting cranky. 😉

I've just woken up... 2 pages about beds and sofas :sign_offtopic:

Anyways, continuing the matchress chat ...

Kai Havertz is a good player, he's not a no. 9 but I think he and others would score more goals if we had a proper no. 9. A proper no. 9 would draw defenders away, create more space up front and be in the correct position, or heading into it (i.e. penalty spot and the f'ing 6 yd box ), to finish balls delivered to the danger area.

I also think we should stop chopping and changing the team - Give the best XI game time to gel and all that - maybe only Southampton but there are no easy games in epl and we still need A WIN.

Dave and Cucu are permanent subs if James and Chilwell are fit... and only subs until we find two better subs for LB and RB.

Actually at my age the expectation is to lose 10% of muscle mass a decade. A few weights might slow that down. But lets get back to Southampton.

This Chelsea team is so f****** frustrating. On paper it looks like a good team and with so much potential and I get excited. The reality is we score no goals and as I and many others noted weeks ago when you don't score goals you get beaten by unlikely break aways or freak mistakes.

I love watching the telly on my sofa (having to arrange pillows to take pressure off my lower back, as it's not all that supportive), but for football I need to sit up. I can't type knowledgeble posts on expansiveness and barristas and x-rated statistics to you lovely people lying down! Plus there's visits to the fridge, to the loo, all vitally important to wring those pesky goals from our lads :steaming:

It's probably going to be another frustrating afternoon. Having said that, many people complained the Fulham match was so boring. I actually thought I saw some improvement in the entertainment value, I wasn't bored at all. Frustrated (again) yes, but bored, no. Didn't see the Hammers match, so I can't say anything about that, but the Dortmund match was again much better to watch. Onwards and upwards hopefully.

If that were true I’d prefer a box, the smaller the the better.

I watch the games on my tv , I've tried the sofa, the bed and by simply standing up but tv works best so far.

Anyway, we need to start with noni left  mount central and kai right in a narrow 3 behind fofana, enzo and kova behind that James and chilly need hane time at least 60 minutes, to keep the fitness moving in the correct direction

James------Silva--Bad------Chilwell

------------RLC----Enzo-----------

----------------Felix----------------

-Noni---------Fofana-----Mudryk-

If Kovacic is fit he should start over RLC, same goes for Zakaria.

I'd like to give Thiago a rest sometime soon and if we can't do it against freaking Southampton then we never will. He's played every game since the WC hasn't he?

Otherwise I'd go with the formations above, give Fofana a chance!

Benoit Badiashile, Noni Madueke, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and David Fofana are back in contention.... injury doubts Ben Chilwell and Raheem Sterling. Kante out.

Wesley Fofana, Denis Zakaria and Mateo Kovacic returned to the matchday squad in midweek after overcoming injuries.

More players to choose from, so many players to choose from, but still not very clear WHO we are.  WHO are we?

Some players might be rested, but you cannot make too many changes at once and you have to bring players back from injury SLOWLY.

Maybe Thiago gets rested? But then who is our captain?

RLC and Enzo to start. In fact the team will be mostly the same is my guess.  Its not like they have played too many games.  Felix is costing us a fortune per game.

Who is the captain? Dave Azpi, but he never plays, then Thiago, but IF he is out. . . who is the armband wearer?  Used to be Jorghi, when he played.  Mount? but he is not a regular.  James maybe?

Also, Havertz is sh*t wherever he plays, he isn't suited to premier league football at all.

Good line up, though I maintain Chilwell and James should be rested to avoid potential injuries as they are still in the recovery phase.

Though all tha t time to waste mate and you have Silva and Badiashile the wrong way around  😉

Well I cannot deny our cat does love a good box. Though she chooses to spend most of her 40 winks on our bed, our sofa or on top of one of her two scratching posts/kitty gyms.

So yeah that don't proven you ain't a Cat....

RLC has been doing well next to Enzo so he deserves to keep his place for now. If he has a poor game we at least have options like Kova and Zakaria again now. Badiashile will almost certainly start as he doesn't feature in Champs League. I reckon he will come in for Thiago although I have no idea who would be captain in that case. Maybe Reece?

I agree. Totally understand the desire to see other players alongside Enzo, and perhaps we still can through sub appearances / if we change system tomorrow, but RLC has earned another start if you ask me.

He was really solid against a strong Dortmund midfield, and I think the way he can drive forwards with the ball is such a rare asset to see in someone playing in a pivot, and can really disrupt an opponents defensive structure.

EDIT: 69th post, nice.

Exactly. I am not saying it is his position for the rest of his career. But RLC played well and he is match fit and Zaka and Kova are coming back from injury. Consistency has to be maintained. We have a HUGE squad, but lets keep it simple and consistent. Five subs allowed, should help to satisfy some folks.

Captaincy structure has to have been worked out by our man in charge, i just wonder what/who it is?

  • On team news Potter says that there's a "good chance" that both Raheem Sterling and Ben Chilwell will be in the squad.

  • When asked about a lack of goals and Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang, he said: "We have David Fofana as well who is a centre-forward who we have signed, who's a young player with potential we feel. There's also other forwards. Pierre’s in our squad, he remains an important player for us, he’s worked hard and knows the situation at the moment. Nothing is set in stone. His attitude has been really really good."

  • Potter is BETTER than the Southampton manager!!!

I think we shall see something like this. . . .I expect to see something like this. . I am not saying that this is my dream line up – just the way I see it going. . .barring injuries naturally.

Subs

Wes Fofana to come on for Bad

Cucu for Chillwell

Sterling for Mud

Kova to come on for RLC

PEA for Dave Fofana

OR

Maybe Noni for Mount
