I wasn’t arguing that him shooting was the best option, I was simply stating it was a decent shot cause of the outcome.

I certainly do not mind someone who has already scored having a pop instead of passing. If you can find a post of mine where I went mental at Noni shooting when he’s already scored I would like to see it but I doubt you would have much success. My issue is Noni does it almost non stop when he hasn’t scored in a while.

It seems a strange caveat that the player has to have already scored, before they can ignore an easier pass and fire in another shot!! And I think we both know you have levelled criticism at Noni when he has got a shot off rather than make a pass that was perceived to be the better option.

Not strange at all, it’s more understandable if they have already scored. In an ideal world I would like my players to have more forethought and pass but it’s easy to get carried away from the confidence boost.

And yes I have but he he’s only scored in two games so far this season. If you are going to ignore a pass you better score or at very least force a rebound your teammates can chase.

Good performance from him and he’s definitely progressing.
I don’t think we will be in for Osimhen or Gykores now as the manager and club clearly rate Jacko highly. I’m believing the rumours that we are after Delap. He’d fit well into our system but is different to Jackson.

Jackson will score 20 PL goals this season and not even Jim can complain if that happens.

Are you questioning Jim`s commitment here.....

For the header Ernie, the defender totally lost the flight of the ball and was unable to challenge for it as he ended up facing the wrong direction. Anyone who tries to argue that Jackson is good in the air doesn't know what they are talking about. The upside is heading the ball and knowing when to jump for it is something that can be taught and learned.

He has vastly imprvoved in the air... that is my argument

Bizarre thought process.

Snobbery in here is crazy, there isn't a striker in world football right now who is clinical, contributes regularly to build up, can pass and is flawless week in week out. Unless Haaland scores you hardly ever know he is on the pitch, yet he's seen as the best of the best.

Wacko absolutely bullied their centre half for his goal, completely out of nothing. Should have had an assist off of a good cross into Noni. There was the potential for a pass in the lead up to the Palmer/Madueke mess up but its not straight forward and would have had to go perfectly between 2 defenders. We want our striker to be shooting there.

And don't get me started on the header assist/no assist debate. I couldn't care less if he gets the assist for it or not, he bullied the centre half again. No way he should be getting his head on that let alone scoring.

The bloke isn't perfect, he can be frustrating. But he's held against such an unrealistic yard stick by some in our fan base, where anything other than a complete performance is seen as sh*te. If you listed off the contributions above for any other prem striker, we'd be clamouring for them to replace Wacko in January.

This is in regards to shooting when there's an pass available, not shooting in general. I don't see how it's bizarre.

Whether someone has scored before or not in a game shouldn't make a difference to if you should shoot or not. It has no relevance at all, i don't get the thought process other than a dig at Madueke.

It's a rule I've had since playing days and watching football. You can disagree which is fine but I have not invented this to have a dig at any one player.

Stupid rule tbh

Took his goal well - and he rightly got credit for it - including from me who can't stand the c**t.

But let's not rewrite history and try and pretend he was (or is regularly) anything more than a fraud, that is taking a position from another player who has genuine potential. Whether it is Chris (a quality player) or Guiu (a pressing machine and youngster with a super high ceiling....and an actual striker).

No doubt the fan boys will now dine out on the leicester goal for ages....add it to the westham game as "evidence" that he is worthy.

It is not an unrealistic yardstick (as you allege) to expect a striker - playing for chelsea - to be able to pass the ball, win a header, stay onside and not be an utter dick week in week out.

He is, and remains, utter rubbish.

Going by yesterday's showing...both guiu and nkunku showed why they haven't started PL yet and why jacko is the preferred #9.

Nkunku, nothing for 60mins as a 10. Cole and felix definitely ahead of him there. 30mins as a #9. He got a goal but let's be honest he really wasn't all that.

Guiu...is young. Missed how many shots on target!? He needs time but his pressing is brilliant.

I dont think it is right to judge Chris and Guiu on the odd minutes they are getting here and there, without ever getting any genuine battle rhythm or continuity. By contrast -  Wacko has a prolonged run of games, despite how ineffective he is for the vast majority of the time he plays....

Give either of them a run of games up top and then we can make an informed judgement on who is the better option.

I think nkunku played every conference league game so far, that's 5 games, one a week. Jacko 11, also one a week.

I just don't think you can compare those 2.

Nkunku is not a #9 imho. He's a second striker (left and/or slightly behind in a front 2), LW that comes inside, or a second 10 like how felix played (left pockets, felix replacement). Atm though, I can see why felix was ahead of him in that line up.

I really hope he can get fully fit soon and it's just a precaution/hes not injured, we really need him to challenge felix for that spot when we play 2x 10s. The games are going to come thick and fast now with no International breaks till march.

If he keeps his form up, he'l score 22 goals and get 9 assists by the end of the season without taking penalties. I don't want to start a discussion whether he's able to do that or not, I just want to know, if you would still think he is rubbish, if he managed to get those numbers?

I think a number of our players are improving including Jackson. If it all comes together in terms of the form of Enzo Cucu Nkunku and co i think we could be comfortably in the top four.

Jacksons finish was excellent at the weekend.

Let's cross that bridge if we come to it.

I do get the Inzagi argument (i.e a sh*t player, but if he scores lots - does it matter?)

Personally I want a striker who can contribute more, but there is certainly a threshold where that becomes less relevant. If we were to see Salah/Lewa/Messi/Ronny levels of meaningful goals, on a consistent basis, in big games, then his overall donkeyness is less important.

For the moment however, I guess the counter is, why not play someone else who can score AND isn't sh*t the majority of the time. Nkunku has scored more than Jackson this season - and isn't rubbish. He deserves a run in the first team.

Oh he will. He'd dissect every goal whether or not they meant anything.

5 of his 7 league goals opened the scoring and 1 of the other 2 was an equaliser.

I'm surprised you didn't give nkunku the Jackson treatment when he missed a 1on1 vs the keeper mate.

Lol, just joking bud, not surprised at all. 🤣
