Jeez man, I'm only pleased for an academy product who BTW has the right to pick his own employers. I haven't gone over to the dark side.

He chose scousers. 🤮 . . .and then he chose Spurs. 🤮

btw

I guess you are correct and the "product" has a right to choose.

Yes, like you and I do. On a personal level, it's good to see someone our club made into a professional player actually having a decent career. Begrudging his choices is kinda petty. Players see the clubs supporters loathe completely different, it's just an opportunity on the job market for them.

I wonder - is there an amount of goals Jackson can score this season that disqualifies the subjective eye test - right now he's better than 1 in 2. If he hits 20+ this season do we have to hold our hands up and say you know what, I don't understand it but fair play.

When I watched JFH and I found him hugely frustrating, many thought we had a top top striker on our hands, and what I saw was a limited goal scorer and didn't believe we would ever win anything big with him (lovely guy though) turns out Jose thought the same. So I completely get the idea that goals might not be enough, I personally do think that Jackson plays a very important role in the team overall... could we get better perhaps, always worth putting that caveat in.

We can win everything with him but those that already decided to dislike him won't change their view regardless, it's not an objective attempt to rate a player to begin with, certain people from the fan base live in their own reality 😂

So you think he is good?

Did you watch the games against City, Forest, Bournemouth, Brighton, Palace, Utd? Even in his latest game against Villa he was overall poor (6.6 on sofa score - despite the goal!).

You are quick to mouth off - but give no objective attempt to say what he is good at.

He was decent against west ham, he was decent against Leicester. He had a good 10 mins against Newcastle.  When else has he been good?

40. If he scores 40 goals in all competitions I will overlook the glaring deficiencies (and his ugly face).

can we get a duckworth lewis for the fact he only play's in the premier league at the moment? very few strikers have ever managed 40 prem goals

SofaScore was once a client of mine... you really don't want to use their scoring algorithm for any meaningful discussion. I think there was game last year where they scored one of the monoco twins as the best rated player and they we'd conceded 3 or so goals..

I dont doubt it....but if other posters use it to bash players like Felix, or praise others when it suits - only fair to also point out when it shows a poor game (the vast majority).

No discounts or returns allowed.

None in the Premier League era have ever managed more than 36 (Haaland two seasons ago). So Jim will change his tune once Nico hits Ballon d'Or level basically.

Aye that RIP Mourinho fella was a big fan of his. ;)

Yep - I said as much ages ago. It will need Ballon d'or levels of output for me to tolerate this clown.  I doubt he will ever get to that - so best for all that he just toddles off now and saves us all the energy.

Excellent post GB. The second paragraph is absolutely bang on. JFH was a good finisher, (and one greedy Mother), but not a quality all-round player.

Good problems to have. He clearly devises opinion and leaves you wanting more, but his output is very good. I’m excited to see how far he can go - think we’d miss him if he wasn’t here or absent for a while.

One day the truth will out and we will find a story of biblical-like proportions behind the Jackson-Jim relationship

We won 5-1, I don't think today is the day where you can say we missed him at all.

What’s that got to do with work off the ball?

Good win, but the slop Southampton served up if NJ15 is up top we get plenty more.

Some folk try to make out Jackson is on a par or even better than Isak.

Just take a look at the Isak goal last night against the dippers. Jackson will never score a goal as good as that.
