Nicolas Jackson - striker

Featured Replies

His form was good earlier in the season, and at that time I saw lots of upside from his raw potential.  Perhaps that was his ceiling though.  Out of form he is an absolute nightmare and one of (not the only one) the reasons we continue to struggle killing games off.

For me, the problem isn't that Jackson isn't clinical enough to start regularly, we knew that already. The real issue is that he has no competition. Nkunku is no centre forward and Guiu is way too raw for this level.

If Palmer and Jackson are misfiring/quiet/anonymous/off form or all of the above we've got nobody who could be relied upon to provide goals.

Utterly brain dead Cnut been saying it forever. This bloke has no football brain whatsoever and it will never get better. You cannot train this into him

he is utterly useless I would rather have kepa up front. It’s cost us last year and he’s doing it again !,

enough is enough drop the fecker

god I’m starting to proper hate on him lol

His form wasn’t good. He has been sh*t since he joined.

He was sh*t last season, coupled with a load of offsides and stupid yellow cards.

He has been sh*t this season, other than 1 good game against West Ham, 1 decent half against Leicester and a good 10min spell against Newcastle.

Many are confusing matters by believing that he has done well - due to a couple of goals. But they are wrong. He has always been,  and continues to be, sh*t.

The only improvement has been less offside and less yellow cards. The general ply has been just as bad as it has always been. The number of misses remains as high as it has always been.

He is rubbish.

Its time you got off the fence!!

Longer this goes on the more I am convinced you are right.  I don't think our other options are any better though.

Massive overreaction here. He's not as good as he should be to be a regular starter for a top four side, at least as of yet, but he's not rubbish

He is. I hate to say it, I would love to delude myself into believing all of our players are great, but it's not the case. If he played in any team that struggled to create many chances, theres a good chance he wouldn't have a single goal to his name this season. If you asked Palace who they would prefer upfront out of Jackson and Mateta, they would say Mateta, easily. Look at the difference in how each player played today. Our defenders were kept busy, they had to work to keep Mateta quiet, and they did well. Now look at Palace with Jackson, it was easy, they had no real troubles with him and brushed him off at times like he was nothing.

He is the definition of an overrated player whose performances at Chelsea are heavily inflated by the advantages of playing in a well-resourced team that create him loads of chances.

Many have fallen for the trap and downed the kool aid. His numbers may look impressive on paper, but they fail to reflect the reality of his limitations. Our squad is stacked with creators - who consistently generate high-quality chances. Jackson benefits from this setup, allowing him to rely on his teammates to do the heavy lifting in creating opportunities. If placed in a team with lesser players or fewer chances, his deficiencies would become (even more) glaringly obvious.

He regularly squanders clear-cut chances. This flaw is masked at times by the sheer volume of chances created, giving him multiple opportunities to make up for his misses. In a less dominant team, however, where every opportunity counts, Jackson’s inability to finish reliably would be a liability. Teams outside of the top tier cannot afford to carry a striker who wastes as many opportunities as he does.

He lacks the versatility.  His style of play depends on a structured system that provides consistent service.  He lacks the physical presence. He lacks aerial ability. He lacks consistent hold-up play. He lacks composure. He lacks leadership.

Sorry for being a broken record - I promise you it does also annoy me.... but all the time some on here argue and say he is not bad, or even (gulp) good... I will continue to call him out for being a fraud.

Look at the table team by team - and I would take most, if not all of the other starting strikers over him. The only ones where it is close is Forest, Everton, Leicester and Southampton.

Liverpool - Jota

Arsenal - Jesus

Forest - Chris wood (painful - but he is a better all round player)

Newcastle - Isak

City - Haaland

Bournemouth - Kluivert, Evanilson

Villa - Duran, Watkins

Fulham - Jimenez

Brentford - Wissa

Brighton - Pedro, Ferguson

Spurs - So Lanky

Wet Spam - Fullkrug

Manure - Rashford, Hojland

Palace - mateta

Everton - DCL, Broja

Wolves - Cunha, Strand Larsen

Ipswich - Delap

Leicester - Vardy

Southampton - Brereton Diaz.

He's not rubbish. He's a left winger.

Just is right, only moved from the wing to up front when Villareal lost their main striker and had nobody else.

That says it all!

That's not like you Just? Why not putting the boot in?

Mod, it's only fair we give Jacko a chance in his natural position of left wing. If he is any good we won't have to shell out millions to Man U for Sideways Sancho or pay for Mudryk's rehab bills. Win, win.

Sancho had a great game today! Well, a good part of it anyway!

Ah Just has cracked it, we are doing this on purpose so we finish 14th and the buy obligation clause in Sanchos deal is not activated, saving the owners 25mill.

Jackson as frustrating as he is, is better than most on this list. Including Jesus.

After drawing a blank against Palace, Jackson has now not scored in three consecutive starts, his worst run of the season.

Erling Haaland has had three separate runs of failing to score in three consecutive starts this season.

Calm down everyone.

It's not just that he is failing to score, it's his overall game, it's really bad.

Sorry, but if you really think that you are deluded.

He is better than a couple of them, no more than that. Would honestly feel more confident with majority of those wearing the No. 9  shirt than Jackson. Heck, I would even take a journeyman like Danny Wellbeck - at least he is always a threat.

This season Chris Wood would be great.

Last seasons would have been a disaster lol.
