Nicolas Jackson - striker

Maybe for you. You are the sort of person though who over-analyses everything. You look for a sh*t load of stats to try and support your argument (as you used to do A LOT with Jorhinho, to give us all a good laugh!).

But for those of us who have followed and watched a lot of football for 50+ years, it is easy to spot a good footballer by watching them. Sure, the game has moved on in recent times, but the basics remain the same and if you honestly can't see that Isak is a much better footballer than Jackson, then sorry, you don't understand football.

And I honestly don't mean to be a Jackson basher (like @nonotnowjim). He has his moments and it isn't his fault he has been made our main striker when the job is too big for him.

I'm not a Jackson basher....I quite like him. I even celebrate every goal he scores with a 10 quid donation to the forum every time he scores. I would like him more if he f**ked off out of our club.

100% Yes.

You should be proud that after more than 50 years of watching football, you are able to say that an in-form player right now would be able to lead the line for us surely for years to come, the logic is just so much spot on and original.

Looking forward having another discussion about this in a few years then, continue your journey and keep learning!

I didn't say for years to come, but certainly for a few seasons.

I hope I'm proved wrong, but in a couple of years I expect Isak will be plying his trade at somewhere like Real Madrid whereas Jackson will be struggling to get a game for West Ham or Watford.

Just read this on twitter and it sums up how I see Jackson.

He is Kalou but we are using him like Drogba.

Kalou wasn't a bad player, if he had a run of games leading the line, no.doubt he would score goals, but he was naturally a wide forward, and the lack of instinct and quality would hurt us long term.

We need a Drogba or a Costa, and for me that isn't another raw player that needs seasons to develop.

Victor Osimhen Mask GIF by TRT

He’s a player that divides opinion that’s for sure.
I can see both sides although I do firmly believe he’ll get better. I believe we need better right now if we are to make top 4 though.
I wouldn’t fancy being the one who chooses a 9 for us in this window. Seems like really slim pickings when you look at the options who are gettable this window.

I feel for him as he’s been given a massive job that his level of experience and ability isn’t ready to cope with week in week out.

I really like Delap but the risks are similar. Maybe Osimhen is most likely but I’m not sure he has the engine to run the channels the way Jackson has been told to play.

Did well today, no silly bookings, didn’t miss any sitters, didn’t hamper any of the build up play with his lack of football IQ. The more he does what he did today the more successful this side will be.

Agree - His best game for us by a big distance. Stayed out wide, didnt hinder our attacks, didnt miss any sitters..... Maresca gets big credit for forcing a performance like this out of him.... He was as anonymous as always, but it was as if the other players were able to step up and cover for the donkeys deficiencies. More of the same please!

Definitely found his best position yesterday....

Unfortunately we also found Guiu's worst!

So all in all an educational afternoon...

I think Maresca has to start Guiu at centre-forward in every EPL game from now till the end of the season, and, even if he is having a total mare in a match, not consider substituting him until the 74th minute, to really make a fair and reasonable comparison Loz.

If it doesn't work out, maybe give Disasi a go up there?

I am not expecting Torres to come good for CFC. I agree that the sooner we get in a reliable goalscorer the better - but for Christ sake, all this mindless bashing is over the top. We are Chelsea fans first  - Lets get behind our players and stop knocking em.

I will donate 10 Great British Sterling Pounds to the forum running costs if the author of the above is correctly identified. This is taken from the legendary Torres - "The Groundhog Day Thread" at 10/12/2012 at 19.17 around the rime that Torres was accurately being referred to as the footballing equivalent of a clitoris.

Sounds like one of our more sensible posters. As it wasn't me, perhaps @coco?

Not you unfortunately @Nibs or the lovely @coco. While I'm at it it wasn't @SydneyChelsea either. As that rules out all our more sensible posters you're going to have to think more left field.

I'll lose my sh*t if this was Jim

I miss those threads. Which body part is Jackson?

Spot on....

We should have all got behind Nando. And that lovely boy Werner. Hell - I even got behind the Lukaku and Morata at various points in time. They were all our own.... and we loved them.

Jackson however is rubbish. Both as a footballer and a human. If only he was half as predatory on the pitch as he was off it. I have disowned him - and therefore he is not "one of our own".

That is some amazing memory you have.... either that, or you really got the search button working overtime.

Yep - a very sensible chap....until Jackson pushed him to the edge, to the point that he is now mostly irrational.

All you criticising me for being a c**t towards Jackson - should pause for a second, and ask yourself the question "How rubbish of a player and human is Jackson if he has pushed the once rational NNNJ to such depths of despair?"

That is clears it all up nicely Jim. And there was me thinking you were off your meds.

I had a bit of time on my hands while I was waiting for permission to dock.
