Chelsea 23/24 Season Friendlies Match Thread

We aren't playing like last game, we have lots of chances to break forward and just stop, players not knowing where each other are..last game it was completely the opposite

When you are expecting someone to maybe run behind you react it to by anticipating and making yourself ready to run/intercept, Cucurella is just dead in those situations and look what happens....

Cucurella no anticipation or judgement of where the ball of going or if he’ll make it…real amateur defending

He is the love child of David Luiz and Jorginho. Has terrible defensive positioning, makes rash decisions, not strong in challenges and doesn't offer much going forwards.

Very impressed. Would of like to seen a bit more from Nkunku. Jackson so impressive and explosive. Gordon has looked their biggest threat so far. He has looked good. But happy with what I have seen so far.

Cucu actually did well other than that one error. But for defenders its the errors that matter. The left side had trouble getting Mudryck into the game. Overall thought Nkunku was a bit quiet

Overall stilla bit scrappy from us, but promising signs.

Kepa: Good half; decent distribution; one good save; nothing he could do about the equalizer

Cucu: Good passing; strong in the build up; but got cooked multiple time 1 on 1 and was at fault for the goal

Humphreys: Looks pretty calm on the ball; but smaller mistakes when playing out; defensively he didn't have to do too much; but was there when needed

Chalobah: Pretty decent overall; was needed a couple times defensively; had one slightly nervy moment at the very beginning but apart from that was good

James: Calm and classy and the ball as we know him; way more involved offensively than Cucu and was there when needed defensively

Enzo: Some good (especialliy long) passing; looks a bit quicker than I remember him; looked slightly sloppy when under pressure at times; but didn't result in losses of possession

Casadei: Secure in possession; good crisp short passing for the most part; interesting that he seems to be our target at set pieces

Mudryk: Not very involved at the start; grew into the game in the last 15 minutes and had some good moments then

Nkunku: Not very involved

Maatsen: Great pass for the goal; lost possession a couple times at the start but was more secure in possession and more involved in attack later; very one footed

Jackson: Great finish; always looks to go in behind; good pressing; nice scraps against his centre backs

What happened with Cucu? Just tuned into the match

Basically more of what we saw from last season. Wondering around multiple positions, not offering much going forwards, standing off players and costing us a goal.

Ffs. Need to offload this guy. Complete waste of money as we all knew last season

God forbid our left hand side when the season starts is Cucurella with Sterling in front of him. Every EPL manager will be licking their lips at attacking that.
