City won't buy him back, Liverpool's attack is stacked and doesn't suit their play, Utd isn't a better option, Arsenal have Saka etc. Can't see him going abroad. Liverpool next manager may want him, Arsenal did not let Saka and Odegaard stop them buying Kai.

Gabriel on the other hand with his 1 goal every 29.8 games... Can't imagine either will get much game time over Palmer or Paez when he joins.

They have Salah, Jota, Nunez, Gakpo, Elliott and Diaz in those advanced positions. Salah may leave but when he does they'll be buying from abroad. Chelsea didn't stick these youngsters on 7 or 8 year deals for no reason, we hold all the power here.

More evidence why 343 just doesn't look sustainable in the horizon without the club's investments being wasted. Maybe something like this in the future, I don't know. Caicedo/Lesly Enzo/Lavia Madueke/Angelo Palmer/Paez Nkunku/RW ST

Caicedo/Lesly Enzo/Lavia Madueke/Angelo Palmer/Paez Nkunku/RW ST Yeah long term a back 4 is evidently what the club is aiming for with the signings they have made. I think until a special player like Paez arrives and Lavia is fit a back 3 makes the most sense. Get Nkunku and Palmer in behind Jackson similar to how Mount and Werner would be behind Kai. Gusto and Chilly with more cover behind to get forward and keep Caicedo and Enzo close together in the middle of the park.

February 19, 20242 yr Getting those stats in a Viera coach team is not easy! He almost never starts as well. He seems like a good buy so far.

So I'm very surprised they are holding out for £33m. Serve them right if the Saudis look elsewhere ...
September 1, 20241 yr I thought he had huge potential? I was pretty excited about him after pre season last year, can’t say I’ve really watched him since then. Buying to sell is abit annoying, I know it’s great for the business but can’t be good for the young players. Treating them like a sack of meat.
September 1, 20241 yr Yeah I thought he looked good but I guess if we can get £30m when we have Estevao coming in next season who's a much better prospect we've pretty much doubled our money on a player that's never played for us.
September 2, 20241 yr I wonder if Saudi would like a CL winning former England left back? Maybe another young Brazilian that shares his surname with a former US president? A Ukraine international his former club president tipped to win the golden ball? Come on we let them have toney to suffer another without a proper striker for a reason right?

I'm sorry bud, but you'll need to turn a blind eye during the transfer windows mate or it will just upset you every time. A lot of the players we have (those fringe and unknowns like kellyman for example) are purely here for that. The hype they get as the new superstar or potential youngster when first signed is part of the selling process down the line. I posted this somewhere at the beginning of this transfer window but we need to try and distinguish between who's for keeps and who's just a commodity. I believe we will only keep the best (until there's a satisfactory replacement) and sell the rest once they've made a gain in their asking price like Gabriel above. That's actually good business if they sell him at double. My issue with them is the spending addiction they have. Edited September 2, 20241 yr by Simplymo

September 2, 20241 yr We bought him for €15m and he is going for €23m. Good piece of business. I think we have a couple of these same type of players at Chelsea.
September 2, 20241 yr I actually liked him, thought his dribbling was exceptional from what I saw but was probably never gonna in ahead of Palmer, Prez or Esetvao anyway. A good loan to Spain would have done more much for his value in my opinion. Edited September 2, 20241 yr by Remodez
September 2, 20241 yr No point keeping wingers that can actually put over an accurate cross 🙂 Decent deal all the same. A good, quick profit and some more to come down the line ...

So wait, we turned down 25mill, wanted 33mill but took 23mill euros? So less than the first offer of 21mill quid?

Maybe the sell on clause had something to do with that. Percentage changed so initial price changed. 🤷♂️ I really doubt fabrizio is with them too, so he's only being fed tidbits. I used to give out the wrong info to ppl I didn't like when I was in a similar situation. Lol Edited September 2, 20241 yr by Simplymo
