I’ve never heard of a release clause expiring before.

Angelo will still only be 19yo after a years loan, he could be two loan spells away from joining us, unless he is exceptional of course.

It’s a bit strange that if that’s the case and he signed a 5yr deal with a release clause only effective in the first two years. Waste of time having a release clause at all if that’s the case.

Backing up that the clause was removed last year. Fabrizio seems to be the source of its existence, unaware that it no longer exists. One up against his duckhouse wall.

Could be one of those clauses that applies only in the summer transfer windows and therefore the blokes statement in October that is had expired is right, and it renews each summer and expires after.

We shall see, it is a less pressing need that sorting out what this happening with Caicedo and signing a better keeper.

I personally think Cherki's ceiling is a lot higher though. One season in the Premier League and I think he would be so far ahead of Olise.

I certainly do if the release clause is off the table. The attitude murmurs make me think meh, a bit as well. I think Pochettino is already developing a good bond with this group, we don't need any more hissy fits, Once Lukaku and Ziyech have whined their way out the door, hopefully we will have a tight knit team that bonds well togther and anyone coming in has to fit in with that.

No matter how good a player is, once he lacks the right attitude, I don't want him near my team. Prima Donnas are not needed in this young squad. I personally still prefer Kudus anyways

With his release clause expired it may prove too expensive to sign him.

The Athletic - ho hum - suggested a new contract was signed with a new release clause. Who knows?

EDIT. Further research has The Sun - ho ho hum hum  - reporting last year a new contract was signed with a release clause of 50m.

Just read in an article in the Guardian that both us and Man City are submitting offers for him.
