February 25, 20251 yr Doesn't bode particularly well for Maresca if the board are already sending out barely-veiled threats via their favourite social media shills. "It will not erode the ownership's faith in Winstanley and Stewart" - probably because the objective they were hired for has nothing whatsoever to do with footballing success.
February 25, 20251 yr Author Agree but maybe it gives a clue as to how the dissenters ( of which there are many ) might target their complaints. For example -these two clowns might not be tasked at building a winning team, but by buying players that are incompatible with the squad and or are losing form, they ( the two clowns) may not be operating in the best interests of the shareholders. Put simply better players would mean better returns for the shareholders. And therefore better SD's would result in better profits. Edited February 25, 20251 yr by OneTommyLangley

It’s shocking.I can forgive Bohley with the early signings like Sterling, Kouliabaly etc as it was early days. However we’re 2 years down the line now and our recruitment has been SO bad. Outside of Palmer, has anyone had any outstanding impact? Most of them are pretty average.Out of all the positions on the pitch, goalkeeper is the least subjective, the most measurable, and the best suited to predictive analysis. It is the only position on the pitch that requires a measurable baseline physical characteristic (reflexes). In short, you're either sh*t or you're not. And yet, our (until recently) #1 is a mate of the SDs and coach Ben Roberts. I have feeling that it's not hard, it's just these people are well in over their head and are selling snake oil. It's no wonder Christopher Vivell left. It is not a bad idea to seperate the responsbility for immediate and 'project' signings, but I think it became increasingly clear to Vivell, as it is to us fans now, that the SDs have virtually zero accountability so long as the balance sheet ticks over. Clearlake couldn't care less otherwise so long as their club value increases on paper. The only person who has had success is Joe Shields, able to leverage his contacts and knowledge of the English U21 set up, but you'd think he won't be sticking around for long if he is judged by a different yardstick to his SDs.

March 24, 20251 yr The club is now saying they intend to sell 10 players in a fire sale to fund the purchase of a No 9 and a LW. The players are Raheem Sterling, Ben Chilwell, Joao Felix, Christopher Nkunku, Axel Disasi, Kepa Arrizabalaga, Armando Broja, Carney Chukwuemeka, Renato Veiga, David Datro Fofana, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, and Benoit BadiashileDidn’t they try to sell 6-7 in Jan and struggled to sell Casadei for a decent fee? Can only see Disasi and Veiga moving for a reasonable price in that list, Sterling & Chilwell aren’t going anywhere unless they pay them off, No one is paying £50m for Felix unless they move fast and get Mendes to find a buyer in Saudi, Bayern aren’t paying £50m for Nkunku especially with him struggling to score/assist despite seeing loads of pitch time, no one is paying the £40m release clause for Chuks, massively overpaid for KDH so will struggle to break even, the Italians are cheapskates so won’t pay big money for Badiashille, and well Broja and Fofana are busted flushes. They/we are going to learn a harsh lesson this summer.

Felix, Dewsbury-Hall, Veiga, all signed in the summer. We could have saved nearly 100m right there. There people are idiots.
March 24, 20251 yr Such a sad state we are in. Especially when you look at PSG who run a similar model regarding young talent. I’ve said this a few times but they are 2 very average scouts masquerading as sporting directors whilst in bed with one of the most rotten agents in world football. They are just taking us in circles spending billions at a time.
March 24, 20251 yr All speculation.. doubt Badi and Veiga are on the sale list. For chilwell and sterling it’s about a wage cut for them and their wages of our books. Felix will be loaned .. we may sell disaster for 30 which will be a profit on book value.. Broja is pure profit .. fofana will get another loan.Kepa may find a buyer Carney maybe for 20 M .. KDH will be the only player on a loss technically.

How do they explain to the board/shareholders or whoever is in charge of finances this gross mismanagement of funds?
April 13, 20251 yr If both aren't sacked at the end of the season then we must understand that mid table mediocrity is indeed the plan. They've led us to a position where we have to chose between starting fresh again with a new manager, with all of the "patience is required" talk it entails; or being stuck with an inept manager. Not the mention the need for another squad overhaul with so much deadwood bloating the squad.

April 13, 20251 yr Whoever is making the managerial choices needs to be sacked alongside Enzo, this can't carry on.
April 13, 20251 yr Unless things go completely wrong, they will back Maresca. He’s their man and gave him a long contract. However with the downward curve that we’ve been on since Christmas, Maresca is going to start next season well otherwise there will be a lot of pressure.
April 17, 20251 yr Even if Maresca is sacked today these two will be responsible for picking his replacement. They need to be gone and our owners need to give Campos the keys to the kingdom and stay hands off. They wont though, they wont change the project and the next one after Big Enz will fail, so will the one after him, and the next one,
