Look at likes of City, correcting there wrongs whilst buying players for future with experience to salvage their season. Fuming. Exactly, is all about great business first, football an after thought. They told everyone this, Jose Feliciano spelled it out.

Is it actually great business though? Besides a handful of players, most of their signings have lost value. The money they're getting out of loans is just covering the yearly book value of each player. No one is paying the big bucks for them.

They needed to spend over a billion before they could take money out of the club, and that money was already committed as part of the takeover. 2.5billion the UK government holds on to, rather than gives to the victims of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. 1.75mill committed to invest in to the club. They had no choice but to spend that committed money if they wanted to take money out of the club. They can load the debut on to Chelsea FC, while they have transferred assets to BlueCo properties limited, like Cobham, the hotels, the lands in and around the stadium, minus the pitch. Thar property is worth a lot.
February 9, 20251 yr Stewart & Winstanley are clearly a pair of fu**ing Imposters. They know nothing about football and have made some of the most ridiculous ne heinous decisions in the Club's history. Firstly, Why are there TWO of them?? This clearly says, neither man was up to the job on his own (as it is proven). Are they Boehly's men or Egbahli's men. With the impending Ownership battle, we may just get lucky and the winning owner, like us, does not rate these Clowns and gets rid. I have NEVER heard either of them say a word to the Fans, either to explain a decision or to support a Coach/Manager/Player, surely this is a bit odd ??? (keeping themselves in neutral territory so that they cannot be blamed when the sh*t hits the fan (as it keeps on doing) Ultimately, a change of ownership will relieve Chelsea of these two clowns and I guarantee that nobody else in the Premier League will offer them a job !!

Originally we had Christopher Vivell who at least had experience in this role from RB Leipzig. I believe he was behind decisions like Nkunku at least. But for some reason he left and was replaced by these 2. Maybe around the time Boehly lost power? Vivell recently resurfaced as sporting director at Man United so it will be interesting to see if he is any better. Probably couldn't be any worse.

Was really strange at the time how quickly they dispensed with Vivell, the man with all the multi-club experience. I remember it got briefed that Vivell had ballsed up the negotiations for Fernandez and upset the Benfica hierarchy, requiring big bo**ocks Eghbali to fly over and sort it out. Imagine if the real scenario was simply that Vivell said to Rui Costa "no we 're not paying that huge release clause - way too high", which pissed off Clearlake because they'd seen Fernandez at the World Cup and considered he was a "must sign at all costs" as he was key to their strategy for opening up the South America market for potential profit. Clearlake subsequently binning Vivell and replacing him with a couple of brown tongued stooges makes a lot of sense this way LOL.

February 12, 20251 yr Alright i've decided it would help me get my head around this issue if I do some analysis I am going to rate all the Chelsea transfer incomings under Stewart and Winstanely with a score between +3 and -3. -3 is a disaster, reserved only for deals like bringing in Lukaku for €113.00m, barely playing him and then ditching him out on loan -2 is a bad transfer, where the player doesn't justify their wages and is very likely to or has left at a substantial loss -1 is a less than ideal transfer where the player overall hasn't done enough and likely to or has left at a left at a small loss 0 is for when it's just too early to make a call either way yet +1 when the player is doing ok given their cost (transfer and wages) and if sold has or would leave at a bit of a profit +2 when the transfer is good and the player is justifying their cost and would represent a good profit if sold +3 Cole Palmer 🤣(when you get one of the best footballers in the world for a very modest fee and have them on a 8year or something ridiculous contract at minimal wages) I'm not going to judge the outgoings or the loans (without obligations to buy) as they are more complicated by manager dynamics (what Maresca wants) Feel free to play along at home. I will be taking the values off transfermarkt Edit: I will probably do this fully tomorrow as it will be a bit of a job to do it fully with formatting Edited February 12, 20251 yr by Qaz

When did the strategy of having a multi club model and young players on long contracts we can nurture/flip come about? Boehly seemed to be running things after they bought the club and it was reported he wanted Edwards at all costs. During the negotiations with Edwards, Boehly played sporting director in the meantime to get Tuchel the players he wanted. Then boom. We sacked Tuchel, scraped the idea of having Edwards, and we then went into the model we see now. What the f**k actually happened?
February 12, 20251 yr Arrivals 25/26: Estêvão €34.00m: +2 Looks a big bargain. One of the most promising under 18 players in the world coming in on for a relatively cheap fee. Kendry Páez €10.00m: +1.5 also looks like a bargain. Not at promising as Estêvão but very cheap for what he looks like he could be. Arrivals 24/25: Pedro Neto €60.00m: -1.5 I think we paid too much but I won't go so far as to call him a -2 yet João Félix €52.00m: -1.5 This one is difficult as his value is higher as part of the Gallagher sale and he could end up recovering most of his fee on sale. Still looks like alot Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall €35.40m: -2 You'd need to take 5million off the effective transfer keeping in mind that Micheal Golding went the other way for that amount and wasn't worth that. Still, this looks a rough deal and probably going to leave at a loss Filip Jørgensen €24.50m: +1 Early to say but he looks a good young keeper and if given a real chance, i think could end up being a bargain Mike Penders €20.00m: 0 I just can't determine either way yet. Aparently is very promising but you'd expect a bit for that kind of cash Aarón Anselmino €16.50m: +0 too early for me to make a call Mathis Amougou €15.00m +0 too early Renato Veiga €14.00m +2 really good buy. If he leaves, it will be at a substantial profit and if not, we could have a good player Caleb Wiley €10.10m +0 I just know nothing, I am would lean very slightly positive on Anselmino and very slightly negative on Wiley Marc Guiu €6.00m +2 bargain. He probably won't make it at Chelsea but at that price, a really good purchase that will very likely end up making Chelsea money Jadon Sancho loan but I think transfer will be around €30.00m: +2.5 absolute bargain, his current form and expectations might work against him, but to get him at such a low fee and reduced wages was great business Arrivals 23/24: Moisés Caicedo €116.00m: +0.5 Very good player, very expensive transfer fee, i'm leaning very slighly positive in the belief that he will be here a long time and contribute well even if he never gets that kind of fee in a sale. Roméo Lavia €62.10m: -1 good player but expensive. Can't give him a positive rating unless he improves his injury record Cole Palmer €47.00m: +3 one of the best players in the world, for a very reasonable fee and on a long contract at a tiny wage. Imagine the mess we'd be in without him Axel Disasi €45.00m: -1 looks expensive, not a total flop but i can't see us selling him for his full incoming fee. Still Villa taking him at full wages +5 million could be an indication he might end up recovering most of his transfer fee Nicolas Jackson €37.00m: +2.5 strong bargain. he's cheap and has a long contract meaning he will probably be here a long time at a cheap wage Lesley Ugochukwu €27.00m -1 not looking great but cheap enough and young enough that things could turn around quickly for him Robert Sánchez €23.00m -1 seperate the player (as first choice) from the deal and this isn't that bad. this probably going to end up leaving at a loss Djordje Petrovic €16.00m +1 he's cheap, he's doing well at Strasborg, I think he's been treated a bit unfairly. I think he will end up leaving for more than he joined. Deivid Washington €16.00m -1 haven't seen much of him and he's very unlikely to make it Chelsea. Likely ro recover most of his fee tho Ângelo €15.00m +2 sold at a profit, maybe that's financial shenadigans, but a profit is a profit Note: I think Christopher Nkunku for €60.00m was agreed before Stewart/Winstanley so I'm leaving him out of the calculation Arrivals 22/23 Enzo Fernández €121.00m -1.5 I just don't see him ever recovering that kind of transfer fee even if he's a good player who could end up being very useful for a long time Mykhaylo Mudryk €70.00m -2 I would have put minus 3 as an absolute disaster but his B sample hasn't come back yet and the club is still registering him for the Europa league suggesting they still think he has a chance of not being banned. Benoît Badiashile €38.00m -0.5 I am largely neutral on this one. He's not that expensive and could end up being good but not shown enough yet so very slight negative score Noni Madueke €35.00m - +1 I honestly don't really like him and don't think he'll make it. But i'm judging the deal not the player and the deal was a solid value/risk Malo Gusto €30.00m +2 a good deal even very good deal. He will likely end up being sold for much more if he leaves Cesare Casadei €14.86m -0.5 sold at a minor loss but with some add-ons. this looks like a very minor loss Andrey Santos €12.50m +2.5 huge bargain for that price David Datro Fofana €12.00m -0.5 was a cheap speculative signing that probably won't pay off but is likely to return most of his transfer outlay
February 12, 20251 yr I tallied it up and it came out positive 10.5 which is higher than I was expecting.
February 12, 20251 yr Author I wonder if the owners/shareholders would be happy with top executives like these two making at least 5 poor deals per season and that this figure is not dropping/ improving with time. I think you might be a little generous with some of the valuations but I can see your viewpoint. To me this also illustrates exactly how the club are doing business and why the SD's will likely stay in place. They are not here to build a team to win trophies, but to buy and sell players for profit. Given that we mostly target young players, we increase the chances of at least breaking even when we sell them even if they don't work out that well for us. And those that do work out well, like Cole, will likely earn a big profit when we eventually sell. A couple of the players listed here (Casadei and Angelo) were sold on after barely turning out in a Chelsea shirt, despite their age and potential. I suspect several more will go the same way. But when you look at these signings, you would have to ask how many have actually been able to improve our first team? Beyond Cole, Caicedo, maybe Gusto(of last season), and Lavia (if he ever stays fit) I am struggling. A few decent squad players (e.g. Sancho/Neto) but overall our first team may even be weaker than it was when Clearlake first took over. Do the owners care? Probably not if they are able to turnover players for a profit overall.
