No two ways about it, we have been complete and utter sh*te since the takeover (a quite literal takeover)

No matter what manager it is, no matter how much is wrongly spent, it has been a next-level decline on a massive scale!

How are we on edge playing some sh*t club from the Championship to try and scrape our way through the first leg, in the hope of being completely embarrassed (again) by Liverpool in a final! If tonight is anything to go by, Middlesbrough deserves to have a go in that final far more than us!

If we play well and still lose a game, then fair enough, but this sideways passing sh*t is so aggravating, it's becoming a chore to sit through 90 minutes of it! If we were still playing now (or if you read this post 4 hours later) we still wouldn't have scored!

Tonight summed the last few seasons up, It is some of the worst football we have ever played!

Agree with this totally.

I don't particularly want Poch to be sacked, I don't want to be changing manager every season, but there has to be some organisation, structure. Some direction. This is just woeful. Younes is right, they look like a bunch of lads winging it, playing off the cuff.

It's not about cups and titles yet, it's not about having a team of wonderkids, its just the some plan and direction, even one that regularly falls over, is the least that we should have at this stage, and for the complete shambolic disarray we continually find ourselves in he has to go.

I am not advocating him, I'm just using him as an example, but the bloke that went into Bournemouth = impact, style. O'Neil at Wolves, Emery, Postecoglu. Good managers do turn the dial quickly, do get the style down and do unite players. 6 bloody months and they're still strangers.

Ah bollox to it all, I'm off to bed. Sorry.

Apparently Silva was one of only two players to go over and acknowledge the away fans that had a 4 and hour trip up from London and faced the same on the way back.

That is disgraceful.

Some of the away end apparently vented their anger at Silva and he reacted to it, so probably more to come from that if true.

The frustration of the fans that made that journey only to get that display and not be acknowledged by almost all the players at the end:

Apart from him blaming Todd, rather than Clearlake, I agree with him.

Palmer at ST @Bob stark 🧐

I didn't watch the game but it is as expected as  Borja can't play every game (he will reinjure his knee if otherwise) and Nkunku is injured.

How did we do?

Seems like there is quite a bit of anger around about this result.

Why are you so mad about it Mod?

Had to work today. Just watched SIEM fan reaction and match highlights. Possibly a new low - absolutely shocking.

It’s all been said but what was Colwill doing on the goal, and Caceido, if you can’t even match the effort of a midfield run then what are you even doing.

The finishing - seen it all before.

Poch - nothing about this is good enough. Nothing at all. Week after week we see the same ineffectiveness. What are you all actually doing in training?

No that would have been a step up from what we were.

We were so bad it was funny watching how poor these "professional" players were.

If we win home and go through, this first half doesn't really matter...

No. It does not matter only if we win the Cup. Go through against Boro means squat if we lose to Liverpool in the final. We have enough losers medals in domestic finals over the recent years.

Poch has no plan, he is making zero progress. There is nothing suggesting that anything he is implementing in training is working.  He has absolutely no backbone in the respect that it seems he openly accepts that players he favours can be sold underneith of him. We have a terrible situation here. The only way this changes is new ownership as any future manager will also be required to be submissive and not fight the board on player sales too. We are in a real mess here and i dont for a second see these americans going anywhere for a long time.

It's hard to know where to start. The tempo was turgid, so turgid that Silva fell over and had time to get up and get back to mark his opponent. Our three midfielders got in each other's way, particularly in the first half Gallagher and Enzo who both wanted to play as auxilliary left wingers. Palmer missed a bunch of sitters, not just one but at least 3. Colwill was beaten for pace, as he is nearly every game and certainly contributed nothing in attack. Silva was once great at driving forward from the back but doesn't do it anymore because you could have a cup of tea while he recovers. In attack, particularly in h2 it was like watching Spain at the Russian world cup where the idea was not to score goals but to see how many times Isco could touch the ball. Sterling was barely used in H1 because Colwill could never find him and he needed a gps unit to get around enzo and gallagher who instead of passing it to hime were occupying his space. When he did get the ball he didn't do much. Madueke was constantly trying to play as inside right rather than right wing and didn't have much of a partnership with Gusto. Gusto was only average.

I personally think using three standard midfielders is terrible in this team. We have had results in the last few games using a proper no 10. Haven't played well but scored goals. etc etc etc

Poch sat there doing nothing. His subs and game management were useless but that's not news. Mudryck and Broja did nothing much. Mudryck is a poor sub, he tries too hard, better to put him on in the first 60 minutes in my view.

People rightly pointing out Caicedo's failure to track back with the goal scorer but where the hell was Thiago Silva ?

The moment silva step up, it is over for him. This is nothing new, it has been the case since day one.

Can't say I didn't bring this up last week, Caicedo is no Kante or Makele, he doesn't bust a gut to recover the ball, but the goal was just really poor defending...ball over the top and we are screwed; why we play a high line with defenders who have no pace is head scratching, but there again Colwill is no left back either. As for Thiago he doesn't have the legs to recover anymore, brains there, legs aren't.

Sadly yes ... he has to stay back,

When the danger started, Caicedo (orange circle) was actually further up the field than Silva (red)  🙂

Fernandez was jogging back even slower than Silva, and Gallagher isn't even in the (wide angle) screen shot LOL

Not sure Conor or enzo are at fault at all. Disasi is also in perfect position.

It was 100% Caicedo fault and Colwill for not tracking runner (I have seen this scenario many times though 🤭🤭).

Silva case is a bit complicated. This has been the case for a while. He is basically a cover guy only so it kinda put more responsibility on player around him.

OK, but you can't give a free pass to Silva in my book just because "it is a bit complicated".
