they said it,(blue news) but Fabrizio never actually said it on his page?

Even if he did he has been getting a lot wrong recently so means little.

According to Spanish media, Guiu talked to his family last night and has given the Ok to Chelsea. I thought it would be a tactic to force Barsa to improve the offer but, given the economic issues they have, Barsa could not compete with the Chelsea offer and have decided not to up what they had offered him. Also, the presence of Lewandosky has been a contributing factor and, according to the media, we wouldn’t send him to Strasbourg on loan and will keep him with the first team (we’ll see…). Finally, according to Marca, it will be announced this week.

I don’t trust Marca, but most Spanish sport papers are reporting it.

According to Marca, Marc Guiu will earn €6m a year at Chelsea, tripling the €2m a year offered by Barcelona. That is £100k/w for an 18yr old with 100mins of 1st team football.

But Marc Guiu's release clause does make the deal palatable to the fans. €6m (£5.08m) it makes the deal pretty easy to digest. He may not work out, but you feel we would get some money for him IF it doesn't work out. Oddly enough, I have a feeling that he will work out - it is all a gamble.

This lad could work out for us.  He is a big, tall, fast, good in the air, centre forward with close control [all those young Spanish kids have good close control]. Barcelona youth coach Iván Carrasco describes Guiu as a "classic '9'.  He is 6ft.2".  I mean he is only 18 - 19 in January.  He seems happy and he seems to like scoring goals.

That is also more than Cole Palmer currently earns. I would assume that number is off.

You would assume a Barca product would suit Enzoball.

It’s safe to say that our obsession with Brighton is over. Now it’s shifted to Barca.

Has it? Over one player? Joe Shields, Palmer, Lavia, Maresca. Could well be is City who took Brightons spot.

I'm happy he's looking at the academy and the new kids.

Take them all on preseason and go from there. Who to keep, to loan, to sell, to loan for now and sell later, etc...apart from them all being relatively young (apart from sterling, etc) he's got a good variety of players at different strengths/weaknesses and stages of development.

I still keep finding reports/articles/videos about how he helped palmer. And I'm getting impatient already for the new season.

Is there a thread for preseason matches?

@mods and @admins.

Cheers

That "here we go" really gets on my nerves...why does he sound Scottish in his vids? I assumed Italian/Spanish by the name!

He is italian.

I even read he was Italian somewhere but In one vid, the way he pronounced his "R" was proper Scottish, caught me by surprise.

My mate lives in and supports Barca. They are absolutely fuming over this

Part of his agents plan to get an upgraded contract at Barca?

Same question as others have asked....why would he leave Barca?

That was my first reaction. Shades of Crystal Palace & Olisse. Who knows?

Anyway, for future reference, if he does come, his name is pronounced with a soft G and to almost rhyme with New with an extended "e". Gee-yoo.
