October 18, 20241 yr MacAllister a doubt. Tsimikas also a doubt. Madueke running Robertson ragged all game and then subbing Neto on. 🤓 Edited October 18, 20241 yr by Sconnie Blue

October 18, 20241 yr If we give away a goal by passing around at the back in the face of that Liverpool press, I'll have a breakdown. I'm confident though that Maresca will have considered the dangers . Maybe we can f**k around with the ball at the back and make it work to our advantage? Come on you BLUES !

October 19, 20241 yr Ok, ok. I’ll continue my agenda. Just hope neither of the Monaco Meatheads play. come on Chelsea!

Robertson is no better a defender than TAA. The difficulty will be putting him in positions where he has to defend so I hope we can get some decent possession. Id be amazed if Nkunku comes in for Jackson. Nico’s pace on the break will be vital. Id like to see Lavia get at least half an hour as I can’t see the manager dropping Enzo. I probably wouldn’t start Sancho. Whoever gets the nod at left back might need a bit more help than Sancho gives. I’m Mudryk’s biggest critic but I’d maybe start him ahead of Neto on the left (I was sick in my mouth as I typed that). Having said all that I’d imagine Maresca will only change Wes and Cucu with Tosin and Vincent from the last game. For such a basket case of a club it’s becoming worryingly easy to pick our line up. The fact we are in the Conference League instead of the Europa league is a blessing in disguise I hope. It’s been great to not have to play our first 11 in it and we should really expect to win it so it still allows (hopefully) for the Conference team to get minutes and put pressure on the weekend team. It also allows us to complete the set of trophies. 3-1 Chelsea (Jacko 2, Palmer) Edited October 19, 20241 yr by 19seventyone
October 19, 20241 yr They always seem to score worldview against us which is annoying - Salah, Henderson, Sturridge have all annoyingly score amazing goals against us. I hope that stops.
October 19, 20241 yr Grow a pair Marasca drop Enzo and play Lavia Sanchez Gusto Tosin Colwill Chilwell Lavia Caseido Noni Palmer Sancho Jackson i would love to see Nkunku in the team because i feel he will end up leaving if he has to keep sitting on the bench, BUT for this game we need to play the ball over the top and rely on Jacksons pace

October 19, 20241 yr For no particular reason I'm feeling quitely confident about todays game, I think a draw at least but if we fire up front we could get all 3 points. Off topic but I'm immensely proud to say one of my Grandaughters has joined the Chelsea Player Development Programme and after collecting her kit took part in the first session on Friday evening down in Southampton. 💙

When we are defending set pieces we need Tosin and Veiga on those two. Always worth remembering our south American players, and African ones, will have longer travel and later returns due to time zone differences. Argentina host boliva on the Wednesday before this game, kicking off at 1:30AM UK time. Ecuador are away in Uruguay kicking off at 12:30AM the same Wednesday UK time. Senegal are away in Malawi kicking off at 2:00Am UK time again on Wednesday. Now I know we are a Sunday game not a Saturday one but you have to factor this in, and know Caicedo, Enzo and Jackson will be tired from the flights, altitude and weather changes, and changing time zone twice in quick succession. Unfortunately in midfield we have little option to accommodate this, unless we partner Lavia with KDH, Carney or Casadei. I think this idea of long- haul flights being tiring for the fittest guys on the planet is questionable. Being rich, they would travel 1st/ business class and have a bed so would sleep as normal. I regularly take 12 hr flights booking business class which provide a bed and suffer no fatigue/jetlag on arrival....and am an old man into the bargain.

The employment of an in-house medical team, who get familiar with individual players, rather than the locum-like arrangement of last season is IMHO the best signing of the summer.

Spoiler: it won't be in our favour today. Expect full-on red-faced Carragher gurning and spitting punctuated by a dash of Redknapp and Souness.

I hope they have all the stats ready to go, including just how much we’ve spent, yet Liverpool have amassed all their success without even spending a penny - it was all hard work and endeavor. Never forget, VVD, Allison, Salah, McAlister, and Robertson all came through the youth team. Edited October 20, 20241 yr by PhilH930
October 20, 20241 yr That ancient rituals still play a part at Liverpool. The weather Gods have been bought off again with a plate of Scouse. Winds forecast for 40mph apparently. Someone knicked the rain though, so not too bad............ 2-3
