Sanchez won’t survive this time. So at least there’s that. He’ll take the blame, but really no one comes out of that with any credit. Least of all Maresca.

It wasn’t just the bad result, it was the abject capitulation. No hiding from it. At least with a week of the transfer window to go it might force the Board to act. There’s a gaping hole where a striker should be and a midfield that’s barely holding together.

But that’s been obvious for a while, so if the club can’t be bothered, I don’t see why we should be.

Yes...people fighting wars at that age and younger...more balls than this lot put together.

Personally I don't give a toss about their age. As long as they are in the side they will be judged against a certain standard and thats all that should matter unless we want to become some feeder club for the big boys.

Least of all is it an excuse for Colwill who's been a loudmouth and demanded a spot in the XI for years already.

Seeing a lot of very strong reactions here which are understandable but still wrong for me. Calling our manager and players horrible names like 'bald fraud' is over the top and just not something I think we should be doing as a fanbase.

This is a very young team and a lack of solid mentality and knowing how to manage games comes with that. Maresca has his reasons for tactical choices and player selection and it's always towards the future of the club, rather than focused on one one game. We have seen a lot of improvement in the team compared to the last two seasons and I believe we'll eventually become a fantastic team but until the we will have moments like this.

Don't get me wrong, we are in a crisis and we need to be better but I think it was always part of the plan to buy young talent and figure out who's good enough by giving them a chance - what we're seeing is a feature, not a bug. In that vein of thought, Sanchez has maybe finally proven he's not up to the job of a too-class goalkeeper and Jackson needs another striker to take the burden off him when he's off form.

Our own manager brings the mentality of the team down with his loser talk. He's now even played down our top 4 chances. I'm not having that, it's why we are the club we are now. We would never have had this once under Abramovich. Even before Abramovich we had a stronger mentality than this. We would give our all and see where we are, now it's just excuses. The spine of this club has been shattered to pieces since these new owners came in.

Palmer WONT hang around here for to long, he will go to a team in the CL

I agree. That’s a given. That’s partly why he walked away from City. He knows he’s good (not so much today) and that he can get back to City or a Liverpool or a Real Madrid. We are just a stepping stone.

The board should act by sacking Maresca. Maresca has better and fitter players than Postecoglu. That's the only difference between the two. No tactics, formation. Just stream forward for the first 20 minutes and put pressure on the opponent's defenders and goalkeeper. If we're not two ahead, forget it.

It must be the bet of the season, Chelsea ahead at half time and lose after 90.

OK,ok..it was a draw at ht today but..

Sanchez is a joke. He was a second choice to Steele at Brighton.  Steele has been discarded there as well.

The board won't act. They've the CWC so there's £50m and then the Europa Cup should still get us some sponsorship.  With Chalobah's performances they'll get their dough come the end of the season and off the PR of Estevao coming in, they can justify selling Palmer for £150m

If you have a goalkeeper that continually makes mistakes that lead to goals being conceded then your team will have no confidence. If you have a striker that squanders numerous great opportunities then your team will have no confidence and we will not score despite chances being created for him. We will therefore struggle to win matches. It really isn’t rocket science. Sanchez should never have been put in place as the number 1. We all knew this. Jackson was never going to be the striker that would turn us into title contenders. Having spent so much money but not addressed these issues is criminal. Until we at least get a decent goalkeeper and a decent striker we will always be average. We also have players lacking in football intelligence. Noni today not looking at the line across and playing them onside and then compounds that by not watching his man and tracking back for their first goal. Colwill needs to be smarter for City’s third by just stopping Haaland by any means and taking one for the team. The transfer window is still open but the club, as usual,  are looking at all the wrong options which probably shows they are more interested in profit rather than success on the pitch.

I would totally back a Maresca out campaign if it wasn’t a complete waste of time as our new American owners will only appoint another Potter/Maresca type manager.

I see Plymouth won a couple of games since they sacked Rooney. Whoever that is must be a candidate. And Moyes is doing a great job at Everton.

But even Rooney would probably drop that excuse for a goalkeeper we keep playing.

All us supporters said this before a ball was kicked this season. You don't going into a campaign, hoping to challenge with Sanchez and Jackson in the starting line up. But that's why Maresca was appointed - he's a yes man. You imagine Conte or Tuchel being told they had to go into this season with dross like Sanchez and Jackson. It just wouldn't happen.

Between Sanchez and Jackson they've derailed the whole season

I think there are many colours to this picture.

Yes you're right, but Madueke has virtually nothing about him, Mudryk sh*t from the get go. Neto, seven stone of nothingness, the Monaco chuckle brothers, Gusto continuing to regress under this manager  Palmer stifled by these crap tactics, Nkunku phoning it in now. Chilwell frozen out, Chalobah treated horrendously despite being the best defender we have currently, and some of the most important players being made of glass.

Yes there are many colours to this painting, and sadly they are all merging one sh*t brown colour.

Where did Sanchez come from? It’s like I woke up one morning and he was suddenly our no.1 keeper. How did that happen? Is it all a dream?

It's like when they shot Bobby on Dallas in the season finale and then up he pops up in episode 1 of the next season taking a shower, and it was all passed of as a dream.

In our version, I'm hoping Roman's back on Monday, along with the 2004 version of Petr Cech 🙂

If you see my post, we're on the same page. Great minds and all that.

We have no spine, no striker, need a CM, Enzo is possibly one of the worst signings for the price ever, doesn't bring anything to the table, we need an experienced CB and a GK who isn't a clown.

Robert, for sure, he is completely aware that he has to do better. He was completely aware after the game - he knows perfectly. In this moment, it is like this. The good thing is that he is the first one, knowing and aware that he has to do better."

Do you still trust Sanchez?

"We trust Robert for sure. The first one who is completely aware that he is making mistakes in this moment is Robert. For sure we continue to trust Robert. We trust Robert. But now we have one entire week [until next game vs West Ham United], we will see the reaction and then see for the next game."

more crap
