Value depends on the market and what people are willing to pay, that's basic economics.

If you want a rudimentary number, then 5m according to Transfermarkt:

So the common perception is that his value has dropped then ... €45m is less than the £40m fee we paid !

We dont have a great record of selling players in recent years certainly not for big profits, i think this has got loan written all over it. Not many clubs are convinced by our policy of failing to develop young players and offloading them a season or two later. To be fair Garnacho isnt alone in this category. The only element of consistency behind the scenes is that we on a regular basis bring in unsuitable players.

Mostly because all we've bought, with a couple of exceptions, has been dross.

Agreed. That is very very basic.

Notice how you stayed silent when the exact same message was used to attack Garnacho, yet here you are to defend your favourite again. You do realise me calling out the hypocrisy of posters on here doesn't make Garnacho my favourite? It would take you 10 seconds to see the multiple posts i've made saying he hasn't been good enough. Unlike you who jumps straight to the defence to white knight for the egotistical primadonna Neto at every chance.

Lets not panic though, its widely reported that Neto will be sold in summer so all this will be over soon.

Garnacho has been dropped for several games. You mentioned Neto has not been playing which is not true. Garnacho, now Rosenior is realising is struggling bad, is now defo a back up. He wasn't trusted whilst chasing the game against Leeds. Says it all.

Also bad news, Neto scored a cracker... I am sure you are pissed.

Glad your boyfriend found his level against Championship opposition pal, can you ask him to turn up against a real team soon.

And meanwhile your BF is doing what, stinking of the place. LOL. No wonder LR has finally glued him to the bench in the PL games. Clown 😆

Good performance tonight, was our best outlet the entire first half and was unlucky not to get the goal.

90 minutes in his legs as well which is only a positive.

Onwards and upwards.

I thought it was a good game to get his confidence back. He sometimes cuts a frustrated figure with a lot of arm waving if things don't go his way, but he's getting his head down and working hard.

I think we really need all our players to find some form and belief now. Great for Neto and Delap, but we need Garnacho too as Palmer won't be able to play every PL and CL game.

Not in this whole conversation....... but we bought him to go by defenders & create or score... he's doing neither, even against poor opposition like tonight...one run in on keeper & he gave him a comfortable save... doesn't do enough... should be creating or scoring more....both him & Gittens are disasters at present for the money spent......if we had them on one wing & Estavoe & Neto on other causing problems then maybe Delap would look like a CF ala Costa & we'd be coasting through matches instead of like last game v Leeds.......One season wonder at Utd so can't see reason we paid big money for him....no better than Sancho 😕

Wow! That's so niaeve and absolutely not true. Economic market bubbles can be created by forces that inflate an asset value way beyond what that asset is realistically worth.

Clearlake and our sporting directors create these bubbles all the time.

They don’t go his way because he’s sh*t, you worded this as if Ton Henning Ovrebo is referring his games. His head was down because that’s his game, head down and run, nothing going on upstairs. Neto found his level against Championship opposition tonight, Garnacho will be finding his level in Saudi, once Shields/Winstanly and the clowns have done enough face saving.

Wish they’d create those magical bubbles for Disasi. Or perhaps they should have done it for Sterling.

A player is worth whatever the highest bidder is willing to pay.

Clearlake and our SDs over value assets all the time. Take the Jackson move as an example. Asked for £75 to 80 million. No takers. Dropped to £65 million. No takers. Went down to £50 million. Still no takers. In the end they had to accept a temporary loan deal as the only way of moving him out.

And there are numerous examples of them over valuing on purchases. Gittens being the most recent one.

The other key factor here is the BlueCo propensity to completely over compensate when they are offering contracts to players, with most new signings being paid far in excess of what they were earning at previous club, or what they'd get anywhere else, and which then contributes hugely in making it difficult to sell them on. Using Garnacho as an example (as this is his thread), on £50K a week at Man United, and they gave him £110K a week to sign for us.

Them over valuing an asset doesn’t set their value though. A players worth whatever someone is willing to pay. Was Madueke worth £55M? Absolutely not, but Arsenal paid it.

Borderline just below average in the furst half yesterday then got rapidly worse as the game went on.

Seems we are still trying to find his level. Think we need a pre season tour of Scotland.

I think he'll do ok against queen of the south ressies, might even nick a goal, you never know.....

5 million is his true value. Your typo spoke the truth

This is true to a certain extent. However, capitalism is not always transparent and honest. Hope that helps you kid.

If his value was 5M he would have been sold for 5M, hope this helps
