He can, and has, but nowhere near often enough. Whether the successes are down to luck or skill is the question.

I like the fact that there is a classic number 9 in him. Strong, can hold up and play back to goal. he did well in a relegation threatened side as well. When he does that he looks ok to me, we just dont see enough of it. He just needs to focus on what he does well and think the confidence will come to his all-around game.

Some players get fazed by moves to big clubs, think this is the case here, different approaches to training and playing styles, tactics etc. It also hasnt helped that Maresca's system pretty much killed any striker we have so he is once more changing his playing style to suit.

Certainly happy to keep hold of him and let him develop with us. Not saying he's the next drogba, but he had a fairly poor first season with us in terms of adjusting to the league. Would definitely like him to look at what Giroud did with his game and copy some more of that.

depends on whether the managers, club, fans have patience.

I think he is a class finisher the best we have had for some time, perhaps Costa was the last.

Think he is definitely one of the players we should look to keep,

Goal v Port Vale was absolute quality. Controlled the ball, baulked the defender, slotted home. Probably won't get the same time against better defenders but the intelligence was key.

Agreed.

It may seem like a simple goal to a lot but the way he created the space and time in the penalty area was quality.

One of the few high qualty players we have currently.

From Brighton hmmm and gets goals like playing for Brighton hmmm, can hold a ball up, and he's just like a spursy player, will score and then rest for a few games score again and rest, he's like a Brighton rock fragile, will he be a world cup starter for for DON CARLO, I don't think so!

He's a good player, but he's a streaky player. He's not somebody that will be good for a full season.

I would stick with him for the next two seasons as our “9” to see if he can find some consistency. Bar Mbappe & a streaky Halaand, there are no quality CFs in the market.

I kind of agree a little bit, I really think there are better out there, I think Nicolas Jackson could have been given more of a chance, his discipline weren't clever and his finishing weren't to clever, ( like MORE SALAD running with his chicken wing when he was with us) positions he got in exactly the same in MY opinion, bayern took him on loan, says something!

I think if we had both Jackson and Joao Pedro this season we could have rotated them quite effectively.

Good performance in link up.. but for some reason refused to get into the box when Neto and Garnacho were trying to run down the wing..

In that case I dont blame him for not bothering with those 2 f**kwits supplying him...

In fact, no one was trying to run behind the Leeds lines or into the box when we got the ball. It was a bit frustrating to see but it's been the story of this season (and last.

I always think Pedro tries to do too much. Usually he has done the hard work, but then wants to do it again, almost like he is showing off. Like that really good move we put together, he just needs to finish it with a first time shot, but he wanted to be clever.

Not always, but he does have that tendency. Still, skilful and our best bet up top.

Apparently wanted by Barcelona to replace Lewandowski !

Can't see that happening as Barcelona have no money, and BlueCo will want top dollar to sell ... can see Joao Pedro being tempted for sure though.

Barca are continually linked with all sorts of players. Given that they have sold off all sorts of future income streams, they would have to sell players to buy new ones.

On purpose, too. Deco is well versed in the Barcelona way of reaching out to agents and national teammates to test the waters.

I rarely say this about a Chelsea player nowadays because we do not have that many type of players anymore, but Joao Pedro is right there at the top with the very best attackers in world football. Truth is he would be a monster and have insane numbers in a fully functioning team.

Barcelona do not have the money to buy such player, though.

I wouldn't go that far.

He's not there yet. He's too streaky. He's good in patches.

We've forgotten what top strikers look like. they do not go missing for large periods in a season and they make and create goals themselves. This guy is a mid table premieship player at best. If another club wants to give us the 60 million, he'll be out the door.

No better or worse than Jackson and his goals havent helpd us improve on our mid table rivals Brighton who sit above us in the table. 5 more goals for us since his move than last season. Nah, guy is bang average

Get him out the door.
