We've had countless displays where we blame team selection, injuries etc. It doesn't matter who is fit or who is injured. We still lose today.

This is a reckoning. The manager is not good enough.

But, but according to all the brown envelopes he is the new messiah wanted by City

Everyone wanted Enzo out the team and we have looked awful without him. He needs to come on at H/T and put James into his natural role. Palmer has been awful and a bloody liability too. He has lost almost every dual and defensively is a weak point as he cannot stand Newcastle's press. Absolute horror performance and really could be a lot worse, the scoreline.

Not everyone!

Which proves my point, the squad is better than the way we play under this muppet. How many games do we match the opposition for energy and desire, especially at kick off. He sucks the energy out of them, then has us playing the most depressing football, I'm amazed they manage to stay awake.

We never match the energy of the opposition.

Even when we go 1-0 up at home. We dont kill the gang off and give them belief. Thats how we lost to Brighton and Sunderland.

This squad may not be good enough to win the league but Maresca is not installing any energy into this squad.

We wanted him out the team for Santos and James at RB. Not this sh*te.

Can we please not start pretending Enzo changes this?

We're not suddenly forgetting that Enzo started against Brighton, Sunderland and Leeds and looked completely useless. It's so reactionary.

Is it as bad on the telly as it sounds on TalkSport??

Afraid so. 🙄

Doesn't make a difference. We start with Enzo and James at RB, the possession and slow play doesnt change the hiding Newcastle will give us.

Just reverse the managers and I guarantee that the result would be different. Newcastle obviously have some better players than ours, I'm not that deluded to believe all of our players are better than theirs, but we have seen that these players can match anybody when the intensity is right and when the positional discipline is right.

Yet where are they in the league? Mid table in a season of poor overall quality. We possibly have players of slightly better technical quality but with very poor attitudes.

I dont think we're capable of playing at the high intensity we've seen on rare occasions.

Do you win titles with our wingers? no, do you win a title with our strikers? No. Do you win a title with our keeper? No. Do you win anything with our fullbacks playing in midfield? no.

We've signed bang average players for stupid sums and sold the players you actually need to sustain title challenges. For all the stupid hate he got last season, Jackson is still our best striker... perhaps not playing for us but this time last season he had grabbed 11 goals or something.

Were' just not good enough. When we play well, its the team performing at its top limit.

Yes, just to clarify I am not saying this is because of Enzo but sometimes it feels he gets the abuse when our midfield gets ran through, but we look awful. I think it would be same with Satos playing. Proves to me this is a manager set up. No control, no intensity. This is against a side that is missing their no.1 keeper, no.1 LB and no.1 CB. Absolute joke.

If Villa can go on a 10 game winning streak, so can we. The buck stops with the manager.

It’s how they’re utilised. No sane manager has Gusto in the half space and Reece James at CM. Two quick wingers but refuse to get the ball in behind quickly.

We're not good enough. I've given him half a season but what has Garnacho done with us that he didnt at United? he's made some terrible decisions, shoots over and wide...

I can't get my head around anybody thinking Enzo fixes this or we wouldn't be this sh*t if he played. We have been sh*t for large chunks of the season and Enzo has barely missed a minute of those games. And in a game like this he is a total passenger. He will make sod all difference.

Newcastle are always intense at home, especially in the first half. How have we not tried to match that same intensity? It's the same every time we visit their place. We have nobody we can take off the bench to change this game, so basically this game is a write off.

It does, but you seriously saying we have the players to push city or Arsenal?

If Enzo is not playing it should be Santos

Maresca can’t get the better of 5 man defences and he can’t get the better of teams with more intensity.

That is literally a guarantee that there’s a lot of matches in a season where we will struggle.

He is not the man for this football club unless the board are happy to have 12 matches per season where we don’t even compete.

Nah mate, it's 2025, you need a RB in midfield.

Thing is we have mental strength as a team…for big games its seems these players are only up for it if it’s a high profile match they can’t be arsed with games like this but these games are what most of the season is built on

Garnacho with double goals and assists at Utd? Yeah that’s not the issue… we’re being dominated by a team lining up with Jacob Murphy on the wing. This is down to the bald idiot on the touchline.

I tell you what, we are fortunate that Palmer turned out to be way better than expected because I think we would be struggling big time without his goals and assists since he signed. I don't trust our recruitment to have bought game changers. Semenyo is available in Jan, but we won't consider him due to his age, but meanwhile we've £100-200m on attackers who offer very little, if anything in regards to goals. We got rid of Jackson for Delap and J.Pedro. The latter is not even a ST.
