TONIGHTS THE NIGHT WHEN WE SEE IF ROSENOIR THE SD'S SEE REECE AS A RB OR MIDFIELDER

Edited by Caps_Lock_King

As much as people hated on Maresca, I think his tactics in a lot of big matches were spot on. For all his flaws, in some important matches he made us look like those vintage Chelsea teams from back in the day when we were an absolute unit. The PSG match comes to mind, also the recent matches against Arsenal and Barcelona. I think under Maresca we only lost two matches out of two against City, other than that we played 12 matches against Liverpool, Arsenal, Man United and Spurs and only lost 3 of those.

Last time we faced Arsenal, Maresca played a blinder and really made Arsenal look bang average. I know Rosenior is pumped up for this and talked about how he wants the Bridge to be electric every time we play there, but he needs to be careful about this because I feel Arsenal won't rotate that much and if, from a tactical point of view, we are not up for it and make this into a gung ho game of football, Arsenal will have a field day given our abysmal center back options and Caicedo's absence.

OH WELL LOOKS LIKE THE YESMAN HASN'T GOT ANY bo**ocks

Journalist Bobby Vincent asked Rosenior if he would protect Estevao as Maresca did

In response, the new Chelsea Manager said: “Protect is one word and I agree with that but look after is probably a better term. I want him to have an outstanding career. I also want him to help us win now. There’s a fine balance between the two.

“So for me, I’m going to use him when I think it’s the right time for us as a team and he’s got a really, really good chance of starting the game. If not the game on Wednesday then against Brentford on Saturday.”

so in other words Brentford on saturday

This isn't the wrong approach though. It only looks wrong to us, through the lenses that we are viewing it, because of how sh*t the alternatives are. The boy is 18 years old, in a new country and playing in the most physical and intense league in world football. I would argue that he is better equipped than most kids coming out of Europe as there appears to be a resilience and hardiness to South American players that is nearer to our own homegrown players.

But there have been too many kids down the years that have broken due to overuse injuries or just not reached their potential due to burn out. I think he should be in and around it as much as possible so that he is very much part of the matchday squad, but ideally i would still like us to be using him as a closer in games for a season. Comin on and affecting games when there is a bit more room and the opposition are starting to tire. Same with Quenda when he comes. The issue we have is that those starting are not good enough and the rate of turnover at this place is so ridiculous that there are players here that were never given the opportunity just through bad timing and not getting a chance to be involved in that matchday squad experience.

I know this is going to sound really selfish and wrong BUT he’s not staying with us long term, we’re a stepping stone until Real or Barca pop an offer in.

Use him as much as we can, overuse him in fact.

Like what happened with Eden, let’s get his best football and his best years out of him now, what happens when he leaves, isn’t our problem.

If Palmer is missing then if we want to stand any chance of getting a result, Estevao HAS to play. We will all be very annoyed if we crash out of the semi-finals with little more than a whimper.

Overuse? You might want to rethink that. Isn't the definition of an overused player an injured one? Its only Chelsea that buy injured players.

I also cannot entertain the thought of selling Estavao.

2 leg semi-finals, who still does that ffs

Agreed. Given the fa cup Scrapped some of its replays a while back is time the league cup scrapped the 2 legs.

I'd sooner have a one off game at their place.

Palmer has been poor since the CWC. Clearly we need to sort out this groin issue if how he has played is all he can do with it and pain meds.

As for today erect a wall and counter attack them, low block.

James

Fofana

Tosin

Hato

Chalobah

Estevao

We played them off the park with 10 men.

I'd be disappointed to see us revert to pragmatic cowardice. At home too.

Ah I don't know, some found memories of backs to the wall games.
